The NCU sftware 1.5 SP2 (internal versin 1.05.02.00.005) cnsists f the fllwing cmpnents: LinuxBase (NCU) V02.50.32.00 NCK Sftware V72.07.01 PLC OpSys V20.70.40 (PLC 317) PLC-FB15 V01.05.08 CP V01.32.09 MCP Client V01.04.31 SINAMICS Sftware V02.50.53.00 ShpTurn 07.50.18 HMI-Embedded V07.50.21.00 Technlgy Cycles V07.05.08 Measuring Cycles V07.05.05 Cycles ISO Cmpatibility V06.05.04 Adapting Cycles V07.01.09 1. Installing the NCU sftware: Fr installing the NCU sftware yu will need the NCU service system V02.50.21 r higher n USB stick. New installatin can nly be perfrmed either using the NCU Service System and TCU with keybard r WinSCP. New installatins withut full keybard r WinSCP can nly be perfrmed using an USB stick which has been prepared fr autmatic upgrade (cf. General infrmatin). The sftware may nly be installed n a SanDisk CmpactFlash 5000 1GB. MLFB / rder n. fr the empty card: 6FC5313-5AG00-0AA0. 1.1 Installing the NCU service systems n USB stick: The NCU service system is lcated as a USB stick image in the emergency_btsys_ncu directry n the supplied DVD. The installdisk.exe cpy rutine is lcated in the same lcatin. Cnnect a 512MB r 1GB USB stick, recmmended type Siemens 6ES7648-0DCx0-0AA0, t yur prgrammer ("PG") r PC (with Windws XP) and nte dwn the letter f the drive t which the stick is cnnected. Run the installdisk rutine t cpy the NCU service system t the USB stick: installdisk --verbse --blcksize 1m <image file> <drive letter:> Example: ( -- means 2x minus sign) installdisk --verbse --blcksize 1m D:\ emergency_btsys_ncu\linuxbase-512m.img X: r Siemens AG 2008 I DT R&D 51 Page 1 f 33

ShpTurn 1.5 SP2 installdisk --verbse --blcksize 1m D:\ emergency_btsys_ncu\linuxbase-resize.img X: (When using the...resize.img, bt the NCU nce frm USB stick in rder t unpack the image n the stick). It is best t cpy the image in a DOS shell. T this end, yu will need administratr rights n yur PG/PC. After cmpletin f installdisk, remve the USB stick frm yur PG / PC and insert it again. Under Windws, yu will nw see an empty USB stick. Nw cpy the desired NCU sftware (file with ".tgz extensin) frm the supplied DVD, ncu_sw directry t yur USB stick. Yu may insert the USB stick int ne f the tw USB prts n the NCU 7x0. When the NCU is turned n, it will bt frm this USB stick. The peratin is always perfrmed via a TCU cnnected t the NCU, r via PG / PC using WinSCP with "Open Terminal". Fr a descriptin f the peratin f the NCU service system, please refer t the /IM7/ Dcumentatin n the supplied DVD. 1.2 Upgrading an NCU 7x0 with NCU sftware, versin 1.5 and higher With an upgrade, all user data n the CF card in the directries /user, /addn, /em, and the license key are maintained. Fr the upgrade f systems equipped with several NCUs / PCU50, please refer t Sectin 7 "Netwrking". Bt the NCU frm yur USB stick (see 1.1). Select the Service Shell using F2 / F3. Lg in with user name "manufact". This may require an external keybard, since user names must be written in lwer case letters. Enter the fllwing cmmand after the peratr prmpt $ in the service shell: sc restre -update /data/<ncu-sw>.tgz The sftware update is cmpleted when prmpt $ is displayed again. Remve the USB stick. Bt the NCU (Pwer ON / OFF). Nw yu can start up the PLC, drives and NC. 1.2.1 Upgrade using WinSCP Systems withut TCU at the NCU can be upgraded with WinSCP, fr example n a PCU 50. Fr this purpse, lg n at the NCU with WinSCP as "manufact" and cpy the required NCU sftware (file with extensin.tgz) frm the ncu_sw directry n the supplied DVD t /card/user/system/hme/manufact n the NCU. Then enter the fllwing cmmand under "Cmmands / Open Terminal": sc restre -update -frce <ncu-sw>.tgz The sftware is installed when the "Syncing disks... dne" message is displayed. Afterwards, the NCU must be rebted. The <ncu-sw>.tgz file n the NCU shuld be deleted. Nte: During the installatin, messages may be displayed claiming that the cmmunicatin partner has nt reacted fr sme time. Yu can ignre these messages, but please d nt cut the cnnectin in this case. 1.3 New installatin n CmpactFlash card r upgrade frm SW 1.3, SW 1.4 nt Sftware Versin 1.5 IMPORTANT: This prcedure cmpletely deletes anything existing n the CmpactFlash Card; this applies t an empty CmpactFlash Card as well. Bt the NCU frm yur USB stick (see 1.1). Select the Service Shell using F2 / F3. Lg in with user name "manufact"; when the CmpactFlash Card is empty; use "admin", passwrd "SUNRISE" instead. This may require an external keybard, since user names must be written in lwer case letters. Enter the fllwing cmmand after the peratr prmpt $ in the service shell: sc restre -full /data/<ncu-sw>.tgz The sftware update is cmpleted when prmpt $ is displayed again. Remve the USB stick. Bt the NCU (Pwer ON / OFF). When the system is started with TCU(s) fr the first time, the TCU(s) must be lgged n t the system. Siemens AG 2008 I DT R&D 51 Page 2 f 33

ShpTurn 1.5 SP2 Enter the TCU name (default TCUx) and the address f an assigned MCP. Nw yu can start up the PLC, drives and NC. 1.4 Systems withut TCU If, fr the sftware installatin crrespnding t 1.2 r 1.3 there is n OP with TCU available t perate the NCU- Service System, then peratr cntrl is als pssible frm the PCU50 r PC/PG using the WinSCP (Cmmands / Open Terminal) r VNC viewer. Under certain circumstances, it is nt pssible t install the sftware withut NCU Service System n the USB stick as there is nt enugh free memry space n the CF card. 1.5 Autmatic upgrade using a bt-capable USB stick: Using an apprpriately prepared USB stick >= 1GB, it is pssible t perfrm an autmatic restre update r restre full. T d this, a script (autexec.sh) and the NCU sftware must be cpied nt the stick. The name f the script must nt be changed. The NCU sftware cpied t the stick must be renamed as either update.tgz r full.tgz. The SIM/NCK rtary switch n the NCU must then be set t psitin 7 and the NCU bted frm the stick. The script nw nly runs when the rtary switch is in the 7 psitin. Otherwise, the system is bted frm the stick and a branch is made int the service menu. Frm the NCU sftware designatin, the script decides whether a restre update r a restre full is perfrmed. In additin, befre the restre peratin, the script backs up the data n the CF card. The prgress f the individual script steps can be tracked n the 7-segment display r als n the internal HMI. The precise significance f the displays and the individual steps are described in a separate dcument. The script is included n the DVD supplied. 2. New functins in NCK 72.00.00 (r later) The machine manufacturer can set in machine data $MN_ASUP_EDITABLE whether the Siemens System ASUP frm _N_CST_DIR r a user ASUP frm _N_CUS_DIR (_N_CMA_DIR) shall be executed with RET r REPOS events. ET200S-F I/Os are supprted fr Safety Integrated. GETFREELOC can be called up several times during empty lcatin search in the tl management. The machine data $MA_JOG_AND_POS_MAX_JERK[axis] is nw active with NEWCONF. The cuplings TRAIL, LEAD and ELG are implemented fr (BCS) and (MCS). Fixed-pint apprach in JOG: Max. fur fixed pints can be defined via the machine data $MA_FIX_POINT_POS[]. The number f valid fixed pints is determined via the machine data 30610 $MA_NUM_FIX_POINT_POS. Apprach prcedure: - Select JOG mde - Activate via PLC interface (see 4.3) - Traverse axis using axis key (cntinuus resp. incremental) r handwheel until it stps autmatically. The axis stps at the defined fixed pint withut emitting an alarm message. The number f pssible parameterizable transfrmatins has been extended frm 10 t 20. Generic transfrmatin has been extended t include a 7th axis. The nesting depth f subprgrams and cntrl structures has been increased frm 8 t 16. The current axial setpint and actual braking path can be read using system variables. Basic crdinate system: $AA_DTBREB[AX] Ttal braking path $AA_DTBREB_CMD[AX] Path single interplatr $AA_DTBREB_CORR[AX] Overlaid mvements $AA_DTBREB_DEP[AX] Cupled axis Machine crdinate system: $AA_DTBREM[AX] $AA_DTBREM_CMD[AX] $AA_DTBREM_CORR[AX] $AA_DTBREM_DEP[AX] The number f safe cams (SN) has been increased t 30 with slutin line. Siemens AG 2008 I DT R&D 51 Page 3 f 33

ShpTurn 1.5 SP2 Empty lcatin search within turret magazines can be perfrmed using the same setting ptins as fr chain magazines. The prgram attribute ACTBLOCNO is used t utput the blck number frm the current blck cntaining the alarm upn alarm utput with active DISPLOF. Machine data $mc_ign_prg_state_asup defines whether the display f the ASUP name shall be suppressed. The ASUP is perfrmed silently. The functin Any Asup Active sets the new channel-specific VDI signal anyasupactive in DB.[channel].DBX378.0. The new channel-specific VDI signal silentasupactive is set in DB.[channel].DBX378 if an ASUP is perfrmed silently. Interruptability f ASUPs: Certain Prg-Events shall nt be prevented r stpped by VDI signal NC Stp DB[channel].DBX 7.3). This ensures that the Prg-Event is executed cmpletely independently f the VDI signal. The VDI signals NC Stp at the blck end DB[channel].DBX 7.2, NC Stp Axes plus spindle DB[channel].DBX 7.4 are discarded accrdingly. The functin is activated by the bit-cded machine data $MC_PROG_EVENT_IGN_STOP fr any Prg-Events. The subprgram return RET(...) allws yu t return t a blck number r label f the calling prgram. This functin has been extended such that yu can als specify any string as return target. Time mnitring n synchrnus spindles: When reaching setpint-side synchrnizatin, tw time windws are initialized which are used t mnitr the time span until actual value-side carse resp. fine synchrnizatin is reached. The size f the time windws is taken frm MD 37240 $MA_COUP_SYNC_DELAY_TIME[0/1]. Index 0 fr fine synchrnizatin and Index 1 fr carse synchrnizatin. The value f zer deactivates the respective mnitring mde. If actual value-side carse/fine synchrnizatin is nt reached befre the relevant time windw has expired, Alarm 22018 is utput. 3. General infrmatin: After the new installatin f NCU sftware 1.5 n a CmpactFlash card, a general reset f the NCU and PLC must be perfrmed: Turn the SIM / NCK switch t psitin 1, the PLC switch t psitin 3 and perfrm a POWER ON. NCU710 / NCU720: The PLC prgram must initiate an immediate (apprx. 20 secs) reactin t alarm "2120 NCK fan alarm" by stpping the axes in a cntrlled manner. NCU730: The PLC prgram must initiate an immediate (apprx. 20 secs) reactin t alarm "2120 NCK fan alarm" by stpping the axes in a cntrlled manner if n duble-fan mdule is used. NCU710 / NCU720: The NCU will nt pwer up if a fan mdule is nt installed r if the fan is defective. This applies fr NCU 730 with duble fan mdule nly in the case f failure f bth fans. Alarm 15122 "%1 data have been restred, f which %2 machine data, %3 errr" If %3 indicates that mre than zer errrs have ccurred, it is nt advisable t cntinue wrking with the data. T avid further prblems, yu shuld read in an up-t-date backup cpy f the data. It is nt always pssible t prt an NCK series startup file frm 840D pwerline withut prcessing t 840D sl. Prir t verwriting a licensed CF card, a backup f the license key is abslutely necessary The key is available in file keys.txt and is stred under the path card/keys/sinumerik The backup f the key can be carried ut, fr example, with WinSCP, by the PG / PC. Each license is assigned t a specific CmpactFlash card (card ID) and is nly valid n the assigned card. Mini handheld unit An additinal hardware is nw required t perate a mini handheld with handwheel. As previusly, the inputs are cnnected directly t the PLC I/Os r can alternatively be integrated int the input image f the MCP IE (X51 ) using a relevant cnnectin kit. Fr transmitting the handwheel signals, a machine cntrl panel (Ethernet r Prfibus) r a handwheel Prfibus cnnectin mdule is nw required as fr the type MPI handheld unit. Data backups shuld be read in in the rder NC, PL, drive. It will therefre make sense t create the NC, PLC and drive archives separately. Cntur handwheel and speed verride using a handwheel are nly release with Prfibus MCP. Siemens AG 2008 I DT R&D 51 Page 4 f 33

ShpTurn 1.5 SP2 The RESET buttn n the NCU can be used t restart the NCU mdule. It is nt ensured that this will als ensure a restart f the whle system in all cnfiguratins. This als applies fr the PI service f PLC with FB4. The catalg /siemens/system/etc. cntains a template fr the current standard basesys.ini. With intercnnected systems, we recmmend t assign names t the individual statins in the basesys.ini (e.g. hst name=ncu-2). If yu wish t intercnnect systems, the entry SyncMdeDHCPD_SysNet=ON_MASTER in the basesys.ini must be declared a cmment befre netwrking the DHCP master. Pwer-up sequence when starting up the system fr the first time after being intercnnected: DHCP master (s far DHCP server), then all ther statins. By default, Prt 102 n X130 is blcked. If yu wish t access the cntrller via X130 using STEP 7 r HMI, yu have t activate Prt 102. This can be achieved using the fllwing entry in the file /user/system/etc/basesys.ini: [LinuxBase] FirewallOpenPrts=TCP/102 If required, yu can als activate the Prt 5900 fr the VNC Viewer. The HT2 Ethernet handwheel is cnfigured at the fifth handwheel interface. Example fr three Ethernet handwheels. The third handwheel is lcated in HT2: MD11350[0]=7 11351[0]=1 11352[0]=1 MD11350[1]=7 11351[1]=1 11352[1]=2 MD11350[2]=7 11351[2]=1 11352[2]=5 HT2: The PLC applicatin example fr the HHU included with the Pwerline tlbx cannt be transferred t the HT2 withut several changes. The NCVAR variable descriptins must be adapted accrdingly. A revised example is prvided thrugh e_supprt r Tlbx. FC13 nw supprts the visualizatin f fur lines. As a result, the meaning f the ROW parameter has changed as fllws: 0 = N display utput 1 = 1st line 2 = 2nd line 3 = Line 1 and line 2 alternately 4 = 3rd line 5 = Line 1 and line 3 alternately 8 = 4th line F = Autmatic change f all lines The display cntents must be stred in the field ChrArray type string[64]. The upper fur keys are transferred t the PLC input image (the LEDs under these keys cannt yet be addressed). Sample parameter setting fr the HT2 at FB1 (OB100): BHG :=5 BHGIn :=DB100.BhgIn_170 BHGOut :=DB100.BhgOut_150 BHGStatSend :=DB100.DBD80 BHGStatRec :=DB100.DBD84 BHGInLen := BHGOutLen := BHGTimeut := BHGCycl := BHGRecGDN :=2 // crrespnds t the setting f the rtary switches * f the terminal bx resp. BHGRecObjN :=1 BHGSendGDN :=2 BHGSendGBZN :=1 BHGSendObjN :=1 BHGMPI BHGStp BHGNtSend Siemens AG 2008 I DT R&D 51 Page 5 f 33

ShpTurn 1.5 SP2 * The rtary switches S1 and S2 at the terminal bx resp. MPP determine the DIP number used t register the nde in the system (here, S1=0, S2=2). Address 0 is nt permissible, as, with this setting, the DHCP Server cannt assign any addresses. HT2: The update rate f the display and the transfer f the handwheel signals (this imprves the velcity cntrl f the handwheel) can be imprved as fllws: Cpy the mcp_client file in the directry card\siemens\sinumerik\mcp_client\mcp_client.ini int the card\users\sinumerik\mcp_client directry and in the HT2 sectin, change the entry cyclemcpsend = 50. The cntrl must then be pwered dwn/pwered up. Alarm 46xx: The machine data fr the Ethernet handwheel must be checked. Example fr the first handwheel: MD11350[0]=7, 11351[0]=1, 11352[0]=1 Cmbinatins f NCUs with Sinamics Sxxx CUs have nt been released. Exceptins are nly permissible after prir cnsultatin. Spindle traversing with limited trque (Fcn) r spindle traversing t fixed stp: The perfrmance display at the HMI is calculated as 100% f the limited trque and utput. With NCK V67.05.03 r later and ADI4 bard V01.04.04, the ADI4 bard can be perated n 840D sl with internal PLC 317. As befre, Dbsi 1 is nt released fr SINUMERIK with integrated drive cntrl. NCU Bis V1.4 (r later) is required t perate 1GB CmpactFlashCards in a NCU730. Upgrades are nly required infrequently s that the BIOS is nly available thrugh e_supprt. Just as befre, in cnjunctin with 840 D sl, the Starter is nly released fr diagnstic purpses. 4. Infrmatin abut the NCK: If the number f part prgrams set via machine data nearly crrespnds t the number f actually existing part prgrams, the value in the machine data must be increased (due t additinal cycles). The interplatry traversing f psitining axes is canceled with alarm 8031...Axis has nt IPO functinality. SPI and PW have (already always) been keywrds and cannt be used as axis identifiers. The G643 functin (blck-internal smthing) has been released fr applicatins in the tl change area (e.g. ptimizatins fr appraching the tl change psitin). The functin has nt been released fr applicatins in the machining prcess. The G644 functin (blck-internal smthing) has been released fr applicatins in the tl change area (e.g. ptimizatins fr appraching the tl change psitin). The functin has nt been released fr applicatins in the machining prcess. Sftware variant fr a max. f six axes: The default setting fr the number f axes is 3. The "Extended measurement" functin with distributed measuring input n the SINAMICS mdules is nt available (MEAC, MEASA, MEAWA). Gaps in the channel sequence are nt permitted in systems with a maximum f tw channels. Access t drive data via $nn_nn system variables is nt enabled. The nly available system variables are thse transferred in telegram 116. Extended stp and retract (ESR) has nt been enabled. ASUBs can nw be started alng the line f the 840Di functinality via the Prfibus PLC I/Os. Machine data settings must be selected by the same methd used n the 840Di system. There are n high-speed NCK I/Os mapped in DB10 f the PLC. Hwever, the ASUB start ptins used in earlier versins (i.e. frm DB10 r FC9 via PLC prgram) are still available. High-speed ET200 Simatic mdules can be used as a replacement fr the DMP mdules used n Pwerline. Fr this, yu can perate ne f the tw Prfibus lines in synchrnism with the clck with PLC317 in cmbinatin with NCK V 67.07.05 r later (mre details are prvided in a separate descriptin). With a 31-axis sftware n an NCU 710.1, yu can use six ut f 31 axes and fur ut f ten channels. Machine data 10008 $MN_MAXNUM_PLC_CTRL_AXES is n lnger included in the data recrd. It has been replaced by MD19160. MD 10062 $mn_psctrl_cycle_delay must be zer. Check the available data backup. Machine data 32250 $ma_rated_utval[ ] must have value zer. ShpTurn 1.5 SP2 Feedback in GUD variable _PM_MISSING_TOOL_REFRESH after writing the variables t "1" is updated nly after image change. Safety: There is a new ptin handling referring t synchrnized actins r synchrnized actin elements. Up t versin 1.3 (NCK 62), synchrnized actin level 2 was set autmatically at the same time with ptin SI. Thus, channel MD 28250, NUM_SYNC_ELEMENTS culd be set t a value > 159. This has been changed with NCK versin 67. Synchrnized actin level 2 is n lnger included in Safety. Instead there is a new machine data, in which the synchrnized actin elements fr SAFE.SPF are defined, i.e. MD 28251, NUM_SAFE_SYNC_ELEMENTS. This machine data can be written with max. value 500 fr ptin SLP_I_O=1, and with a max. value f 5000 fr ptin SPL_I_O=2. Hwever, the number f synchrnized actin elements required shuld be determined in rder t prevent the perfrmance frm being laded unnecessarily. With system variable $AC_SAFE_SYNAC_MEM, the relevant number f free SI synchrnized actin elements can be read. If this variable is called prir t starting and after running SAFE.SPF, the difference is the number f elements ccupied by SAFE.SPF. This difference adding a certain reserve shuld be entered in MD 28251. Index 1-5 must be indicated when writing MD 35300 via synchrnized actins. Fr SINUMERIK sftware releases 1.3 and 1.4/2.4, different firmware versins f the cmpnents (NCU, NX, Mtr Mdules, DRIVE-CLiQ mtrs) invlved in the safety functins can be cmbined (mixed) withut having t adapt the firmware versins. The fllwing applies frm SINUMERIK sftware release 1.5/2.5 and higher: The firmware versins f the Mtr Mdules, Sensr Mdules and DRIVE-CLiQ mtrs (include integrated Sensr Mdules) invlved in the safety functins must be adapted t the SINAMICS firmware versin f the NCU. This ccurs autmatically when bting, if parameter p9826 (firmware, autmatic) is set t 1 (standard setting). When using Safety Integrated, parameter p9826 (firmware, autmatic) must be set t 1 and must nt be re-parameterized. Fr the acceptance test f Safety Integrated, the safety firmware versins f all f the Mtr Mdules, Sensr Mdules and DRIVE-CLiQ mtrs - invlved in the safety functins - must be read-ut, lgged and checked against the fllwing list: http://supprt.autmatin.siemens.cm/ww/view/de/28554461 Each line in the tables represents a pssible cmbinatin f safety firmware versins. When bting, chassis units must be perated in the pen-lp cntrl mde (refer t MD35020). Machine data change as a result f a changed Drive ES SlaveOM The Drive ES SlaveOM is respnsible fr allcating addresses f drive units cnnected t Prfibus f the PLC. The addresses are allcated in the PLC HW Cnfig. The addresses allcated here must be entered int the NC machine data MD13050[nn] crrespnding t the required axis cnfiguratin. When a Starter V4.1.n (r later) is installed (later, including the the installatin f tlbx V2.6), the new Drive ES SlaveOM is linked in. Cntrary t the previus situatin, nw, an address space fr 6 axes is reserved fr each CU r NX. This is realized when creating a PLC hardware cnfiguratin fr the first time. As a result, addresses may be shifted r gaps ccur. This mdified address allcatin must then be cmmunicated t the NC in machine data 13050[nn], as therwise the allcatins will n lnger be crrect. This is especially true if existing NC data back-ups (archives) are being used as therwise these will n lnger match the PLC hardware cnfiguratin. Siemens AG 2008 I DT R&D 51 Page 9 f 33

ShpTurn 1.5 SP2 Further, in HW Cnfig, the address f telegram 390 (PZD-2/2) f the first NX changes frm 6516 t 6530. When using additinal NX mdules, the address is incremented with an ffset f 10. Machine data MD13120[1+n] must be crrespndingly adapted. If existing PLC prjects are imprted int an S7 envirnment with new Drive ES SlaveOM, then the ld (previus) address cnfiguratins are kept. Hwever, the drive bjects that have been newly inserted int this prject receive the new address allcatin. A Standard (new) address allcatin is achieved using Rerganize addresses. If, fr NX bjects, the Standard telegram 1 (PZD-2/2) is entered frm an existing cnfiguratin, then this must be replaced by telegram 390 in rder t achieve a standard, new address allcatin. ShpTurn 1.5 SP2 Re-rganizing addresses 7. Infrmatin abut HMI Embedded: The HMI Embedded sftware V07.50.xx is started autmatically as a cmpnent f the NCU sftware 1.5 in the pwer-up f the NCU7x0. HMI Embedded is als referred t as an "internal HMI". HMI Embedded can nly be perated via a cntrl panel with TCU cnnected via Ethernet t X120 n the NCU7x0. The cnfiguring data, such as PLC message and alarm texts and HMI ptin package ("Wizard"), must be stred n the CmpactFlash card in the NCU in the apprpriate directries under /card/user/sinumerik/hmi/... r /card/em/sinumerik/hmi/... (see dcumentatin IM2, BE1). The file system n the CmpactFlash card can be accessed in "nline" mde nly, i.e. when the NCU is running. The data can be transferred either by means f a USB stick r netwrk link via the HMI peratr interface (startup / HMI area) r by means f a netwrk link and the WinSCP tl. IMPORTANT: File names f cnfiguring files must nrmally be written in lwer case letters. Display MD 9990 SW_OPTIONS has n significance. All HMI ptins must be activated thrugh license management. The ptin "Additinal 256MB HMI user memry n the CmpactFlash card" is required t be able t stre part prgrams and archives n the CmpactFlash card ("lcal drive"). NOTICE: An NCK general reset deletes the ptin and renders the "lcal drive" inaccessible until the ptin is set again. Existing data stred n the card are nt affected. If yu are perating an NCU withut TCU (i.e. with HMI Advanced n PCU 50), it is advisable t deactivate HMI Embedded. Yu can d this by executing cmmand "sc disable hmi" in the service shell. ShpTurn 1.5 SP2 OP keybards can be switched between upper case and lwer case letters by simultaneusly pressing Shift+Ctrl. T be able t use the characters represented when pressing Shift (e.g. Shift A => [ ), capitalizatin must be active. 7. 1 Limitatins in HMI Embedded: Muse peratin is nt supprted, peratin via tuch panel (als nt with HT8) is nt permissible. Cpying a file t CF card by verwriting an existing file with the same name will cause an "internal errr" message. The file with the same name must be deleted befre. Display MD 9210 USER_CLASS_WRITE_ZOA is nt active fr "active wrk ffset" in the Parameter area. Display MD 9900 MD_TEXT_SWITCH des nt have any effect. All cnfigured netwrk drives (access t server via Ethernet) must be permanently accessible during the runtime f HMI Embedded. Fr the cmmissining f the SINAMICS drives, an external HMI Advanced, sftware versin 7.5 r higher, r cmmissining tl 7.5 is required (the CD SINUCOM includes the cmmissining tl). Prcessing frm external surces / EXTCALL is nly permissible with single-channel machines. Ladable cmpile cycles cannt be backed up r read in using NC series startup archive. Ladable cmpile cycles are stred n the CF card f the NCU and retained in case f NC memry reset. They can be handled like HMI cnfiguring data. In a part prgram with EXTCALL calls, there must be at least ne ther NC blck between tw sequential EXTCALL calls with a prcessing duratin f at least ne secnd. When very big files are saved n CF card, the message "Please wait File being flashed" is displayed. This message must be acknwledged by pressing the Recall buttn. If yu want t switch ff the cntrl after having saved the file, yu will have t wait fr ne secnd fr each MB file size. After reading in a NC series startup archive, an explicit restart f the HMI is required, e.g. thrugh NCK reset r peratin with CTRL + Q, Enter. It is nt pssible t integrate a user bt screen. 7.2 Imprved functinality with respect t SW 1.5 SP1 HF2 AP00804529 AP00779762 The ShpMill interface may freeze in the editr The HMI might crash under certain circumstances in the G cde editr 8. Infrmatin abut the NCU Base sftware: The Linux perating system f the NCU7x0 is als referred t as the NCU Base sftware, similar t the PCU Base sftware fr the PCU 50. Yu will find the relevant dcumentatin in IM7 n the DVD-ROM. The NCU base sftware ensures the start amng ther things f the NC, PLC, and HMI sftware during pwer-up, as well as the bting f the TCU if it is present. The NCU Base sftware is user-riented, i.e. yu must lg in and enter a passwrd in rder t acquire specific access authrizatin. This current lgin and passwrd prtectin is nly relevant fr accessing a Linux service shell r the CmpactFlash card using WinSCP. Fr startup and servicing activities, the lgin ID is "manufact" and the passwrd "SUNRISE" (case-sensitive!). T pen the Linux service shell n the TCU, press keys "Area switchver" and "Recall" (F10 and F9) simultaneusly, then "Scan fr Servers", "2" r bt frm the USB service system. Fr access via the netwrk using WinSCP, enter the abvementined lgin and passwrd n the "Sessin" screen. This lgin prcedure als applies after the NCU7x0 has bted frm a USB stick with the NCU service system prvided that executable NCU sftware is installed n the CmpactFlash card. If this is nt the case (e.g. if the CmpactFlash card is empty), enter the lgin ID "admin" and passwrd "SUNRISE". Yu can display a list f the syntax f all available service cmmands in the service shell by running cmmand "sc help". Siemens AG 2008 I DT R&D 51 Page 19 f 33
