January 2018 Release 18.1.1 Support for provisioning on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Support for IP reservations You can provision Oracle SOA Cloud Service on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure combines the elasticity and utility of public cloud with the granular control, security, and predictability of on-premises infrastructure to deliver high-performance, high availability, and cost-effective infrastructure services. See About SOA Cloud Service Instances in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Classic and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure of Administering Oracle SOA Cloud Service in a Customer- Oracle SOA Cloud Service supports IP reservations. You can reserve IP addresses for the VMs in your service instance during provisioning. See Creating and Managing IP Reservations and Exploring the Oracle SOA Cloud Service IP Reservations Page of Administering Oracle SOA Cloud Service in a Customer- November 2017 Release 17.4.3 Support for the EDI Adapter is now available for the SOA with SB & B2B service type. The EDI Adapter provides a comprehensive platform for the implementation and management of business processes utilizing EDI and its related standards. The adapter can be enabled during provisioning for use with the SOA with SB & B2B service type on 12.2.1.2 and the SOA & B2B Cluster service type on 12.1.3. The B2B adapter for EDI is only available for use with the Universal Credits billing model and is billed as an additionally metered amount on the Oracle SOA Cloud Service OCPUs at the instance level during provisioning or scaling. You cannot add the B2B Adapter for EDI to existing instances, nor can you remove it from an instance that it is assigned to. The adapter can only be set during the initial provisioning process and can only be removed by deleting the instance. Billing can be paused by stopping the instance, since Universal Credits model is billed by the hour. See How Billing Works. September 2017 Release 17.3.5.0.2 2
Bring Your Own License (BYOL) billing You can now activate the Bring Your Own License (BYOL) version of Oracle SOA Cloud Service and you will be charged the BYOL rate for the activated Oracle SOA Cloud Service provided that you have sufficient supported on-premises licenses as required and specified in the Service for Oracle PaaS. See Overview of Oracle Cloud Subscriptions. September 2017 Release 17.3.5 IP networks functionality is enabled for Oracle SOA Cloud Service. Various bugs have been fixed. IP networks functionality is now fully supported. If the regions and IP networks features are supported for your account, during provisioning you can attach the service instance to an IP network that is already created in Oracle Compute Cloud Service. See Service Instance Information in Administering Oracle SOA Cloud Service in a Customer-Managed Environment for specific information and About IP Networks in Using Oracle Compute Cloud Service (IaaS) for general information about IP networks. A number of bugs were fixed and documents updated. August 2017 Release 17.3.3 IP Networks is enabled for Oracle SOA Cloud Service. WebLogic Server version 12.2.1.2.1 is supported in this release. Various bugs have been fixed. July 2017 Release 17.3.1 Only the new compute zone zones in the regional data centers are enabled for IP Networks. If your identity domain does not have access to one of these new zones, submit a Service Request to Oracle support and request it be added to your identity domain. Note that the IP Reservations functionality is not yet enabled. See About IP Networks in Using Oracle Compute Cloud Service (IaaS) for general information about IP Networks. Beginning with 17.3.3, WebLogic Server version 12.2.1.2.1 is used for instances provisioned with the 12.2.1.2 service type. A number of bugs were fixed and documents updated. 3

June 2017 Release 17.2.5 Integration Continuous Availability features are now supported and included with the SOACS subscription The feature that automatically allows you to create your Oracle Storage Cloud container has returned after being absent for the past release. These Oracle SOA Suite 12.2.1 features offer a set of operational features including availability, performance, scalability, diagnostic and other operational aspects. See Introducing Oracle Integration Continuous Availability s The required Oracle Storage Cloud container can now be automatically created for you when you provision an instance. All you have to do is check the Create Cloud Storage Container checkbox on the Instance Details page, specify a name and credentials. and the wizard does the rest. The method for updating backup storage credentials has changed. 1. From the Services page of the Oracle SOA Cloud Service Console, click an existing service instance. 2. On the Overview page, click the menu adjacent to the service instance name and select Update Service Credentials. 3. Update the user name and password. Oracle Database 12c Release 2 (12.2.0.1.0) is now supported for Oracle SOA Cloud Service 12.2.1.2 instances. Oracle Database 12c Release 2 (12.2.0.1.0) can now be chosen as the database when provisioning 12.2.1.2 instances. This database version is not supported for 12.1.3 instances and will fail during final validation. 4
Can now add a load balancer after an instance is provisioned. By default, the AdminServer port 7002 and the OTD Admin port 8989 access rules are now disabled. Starting in 17.2.5, the onpremises high availability features for the file and FTP adapters are supported. You can now once again add a load balancer to an instance after it has been provisioned. See Administering the Load Balancer for an Oracle SOA Cloud Service Instance The user can enable this during instance creation by selecting the option Enable Admin Console. If not selected during instance creation, it can always be enabled using the Access Rules tab. Store files in the /u01/soacs/dbfs_directio/ share/soa/soaosb/ha directory. April 2017 Release 17.2.1 The following new features were added for this release. 17.2.1 REST APIs are not backward compatible. Metadata framework (MDF) support Change to the available 12.2.1.2 service types The 17.2.1 Oracle SOA Cloud Service REST APIs have changed and might not be compatible with earlier versions. Please check existing scripts and other automations to be sure they are compatible. See REST API for Oracle SOA Cloud Service for the current API. MDF provides a unified metadata management framework. This framework provides a different look and feel in the Oracle SOA Cloud Service Console and Oracle SOA Cloud Service provisioning wizard. See About the User Interfaces of Oracle SOA Cloud Service and Using the Provisioning Wizard of Administering Oracle SOA Cloud Service in a Customer- Note: If you are currently using scripts with the Oracle SOA Cloud Service REST APIs, your scripts will not work with the Oracle SOA Cloud Service 17.2.1 software uptake. You must recode any automated scripts. The B2B with SOA and OSB Cluster service type has replaced the SOA and Service Bus Cluster service type for 12.2.1.2 software images in the provisioning wizard. You cannot upgrade from the SOA and Service Bus Cluster service type of previous releases to the new B2B with SOA and OSB Cluster service type. 5
Multinode clustering support in production environments 12.2.1.2 cloud adapter updates The following 12.2.1.2 service types support the use of multinode clustering in production environments: B2B with SOA and OSB Cluster MFT Cluster The Integration Analytics Cluster 12.2.1.2 service type does not support the use of multinode clustering in a production environment. Use this service type only in preview modes for testing. The following cloud adapters have been updated with this release. These adapters are automatically installed when you provision a new 17.2.1 POD. For existing PODs, you must manually apply the 12.2.1.2 cloud adapter patch. Default port changes The default ports to access Oracle resources through Oracle SOA Cloud Service have changed with this release. Note that the port numbers remain the same for Oracle SOA Cloud Service version 16.4.5 and earlier. You cannot upgrade from 12.2.1 to 12.2.1.2. Instead, provision a new instance of 12.2.1.2, which provides multinode support. Version 12.1.3 is still supported. Note that only the multinode version of the MFT Cluster service type is supported in production mode. Use the preview mode versions for testing. SOA and Service Bus Cluster (supported in preview mode only) MFT Cluster (supported in production mode) Integration Analytics Cluster (supported in preview mode only) Note: You can only provision a multinode version of the SOA and B2B Cluster service type with the REST API. This service type is supported in preview mode only. Changes to the available service types Oracle Traffic Director 12c When running the provisioning wizard, note the following changes on the Service Type page: The Service Bus Cluster and SOA Cluster service types are only available for selection with software image 12.1.3. The SOA and B2B Cluster service type is only available for selection with software image 12.1.3. To provision this service type in 12.2.1.2, you must use the REST API. Do not use the SOA and Service Bus Cluster 12.2.1.2 service type in a production environment. In a later release, this service type will be combined into a single SOA and Service Bus and B2B Cluster service type selection. There will not be a way to upgrade to this combined service type. However, you can use the SOA and Service Bus Cluster service type for testing. Oracle SOA Cloud Service now uses Oracle Traffic Director Release 12c. Starting with Release 12c, Oracle Traffic Director administration tasks are performed from Oracle Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control. When accessing Oracle Traffic Director from the Oracle SOA Cloud Service Console, you are directed to Oracle Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control: https://hostname/em November 2016 Release 16.4.1 The following new features were added for this release. 8
The provisioning wizard can now automatically create your Oracle Storage Cloud container. The required Oracle Storage Cloud container can now be automatically created for you when you provision an instance. Oracle Business Activity Monitoring (Oracle BAM) is now available for production use as part of SOA Cloud Service Oracle BAM is now available for production use as part of the Integration Analytics Cluster service type. Oracle BAM was in preview mode in previous SOA Cloud Service releases. September 2016 Release 16.3.5 The following new features were added for this release. New API connection type and REST API added for Real- Time Integration Business Insight A new API connection type is available in Real-Time Integration Business Insight. Use this connection type in conjunction with the Real-Time Integration Business Insight REST Event API to collect metrics from integrations that are not implemented using compatible versions of SOA Suite or Service Bus.
