Elementary Report Cards - Navigation Elementary Report Cards Application Navigation https://remote.rusd.k12.ca.us/reportcardscc/ This application has been designed to accommodate the new Common Core Standards. It supports Progress Reports as well as Report Cards. It also has a new paging feature which enables the teachers to quickly move through their students Report Cards and additionally offers the Principals another way to perform Report Card reviews. Please read through this document to learn how to navigate through the pages and features of the program. Accessing Common Core Elementary Report Cards: Employee Portal: A link will be maintained on the Employee Portal page of the RUSD website (http://www.rusdlink.org ) Technology Services Website: A link will be maintained on the Applications menu of the Technology Services intranet website (http://ts.rusd.edu/ ) URL: https://remote.rusd.k12.ca.us/reportcardscc/ Logging in to Common Core Elementary Report Cards: Click the log-in link button on the right side of the Elementary Report Cards title bar, shown above. Enter your username and password. The username and password will be the same as the ones you use to log into your computer in the morning. Click Submit and your Opening Screen will appear. Opening Screens: The Opening Screen will differ based upon the user s user-type. Depending on your user-type (Site-Admin, Classroom Teacher, Program Specialist, etc. ) you will be presented with an opening screen which will be tailored to your needs within the Elementary Report Card System Site Admin Opening Screen: The administrative tools available to Site-Admins are listed on this page. If new tools are added in the future, they will also be listed here. Classroom Teacher Opening Screen: The student names, student id s and teacher s name have been obfuscated on the image above. The Classroom Teacher will open to a screen which lists all students in the teacher s class, the Progress Reports and Report Cards. Selecting a yellow document icon will open a Progress Report. Selecting a blue document icon will open a Report Card. Selecting a printer icon will generate a pdf document for printing or saving. An icon with a red check has already been saved. Special Programs Teacher Opening Screen: The student names, student id s and teacher s name have been obfuscated on the image above. Because Special Programs teachers work with individual students from many classes, Special Program Teachers have the ability to build their own classes. The teacher uses the box on the right to select a student and add that student to their class. The Special Programs Teacher will open to this screen. Clicking on the blue document icon will open a report card. Clicking on the red X will remove a student from the class list. The Elementary Report Card Menus: Different menus will appear on each screen. The menu choices depend on the user-type and the contents of the screen presented. Hovering over a menu item will display a tool tip describing the menu items function. The Top Left Menu: The left top menu is the documents menu. Possible items are as follows: o Preview class o Print blank report cards o Print multiple cards The Top Right Menu The top right menu is the navigation menu. Menu Item Functions: Preview Class Typically available on the Class page displays all report cards and addendums for all students in the class on one long page. Although this can be used by all who have access to the Class page, principals generally use this to review their teachers report cards. Print blank cards Enables the user to print blank report cards. Print Multiple Cards Enables the user to select report cards and addendums to be combined into one printable pdf document. Report cards for an entire class can be printed using this feature. Admin menu returns the user to the Administrative Tools page. Class list returns the user to the Class page.? Opens Elementary Report Card Directions?? Opens Elementary Report Card Navigation document (this document) Progress Reports: Student Progress Reports are available on the Class page. A progress report can be created or edited by clicking on one of the yellow progress report icons. Once a progress report has been saved, the printer icons will appear and the progress report can be printed by clicking on the appropriate printer icon. The Progress Report Icons: The red check mark indicates that that progress report has been saved, not necessarily completed. An Icon without a check mark indicates that no progress report has been created for this student. Clicking the En printer icon will print the English progress report and clicking the Sp printer icon will print the Spanish progress report. Elementary Report Card - Navigation Page 4
The Progress Report fill-in form: The Suggestions for Improvement boxes are limited to 150 characters each. A character counter is displayed at the bottom of each box. The 150 character limitation has been imposed to ensure the document will fit on one page. Once the form is complete, click the Save button at the bottom of the form. The fill-in form does not display the Parent to sign-and-return portion at the bottom of the form, however, this section will appear on the printed copies of the form. Report Cards: The Elementary Report Cards have been fully redesigned, however, in order to allow ease of use, all of the new functionality has been incorporated while retaining the feel of the old functionality. Tab Structure: White with blue letters: current tab Blue with white lettering: available tab Greyed out: inactive tab Lighting up inactive tabs: To Light up (activate) an inactive tab, click on the Performance tab and scroll down to the Other Program Participation section of the Performance page. Check the box which corresponds to the tab to activate the tab or uncheck the box for an unneeded tab to inactivate the tab. The checked boxes also indicate the addendums which will be available to print when it is time to print the report cards. Report Card icons and their functions: Left Arrow icon will return to the Class list without saving the report card. 123 icon enables the teacher to change to a previous trimester for a grade correction. Red floppy disk icon Saves the report card and all addendums. Save buttons appear both at the top and bottom of the report card. Printer icon prints the report card. Trash Can icon deletes the report card for the current trimester. Paging Feature: When the report card is accessed from the Class page, the paging feature will be activated. This enables the teacher to move to the next or previous student on the Class page without returning to the Class page. If the teacher has made a change on the report card or addendums, the teacher will be prompted to Save the page before continuing. If the teacher clicks Prev while on the first student, the teacher will be returned to the Class page. Conversely, if the Next button is clicked while on the last student, the teacher will also be returned to the Class page. Date and Time Last Saved: If a report card has been saved, the date and time of the last save will be displayed both at the top and bottom of the report card. Printing the Report Cards: Individual Cards and/or addendums: Click the printer icon at the top of each report card or on the Class page. Multiple Cards and/or addendums: To print multiple cards combined into one printable document, select the print multiple cards menu item. Then follow the instructions on the page. This menu item only appears at the top of the Class page. User Types: Site-Admins: Principals, Assistant Principals and Principal s secretaries are automatically assigned Site-Admin credentials within the application. Principals may request that other office personnel be assigned Site-Admin rights. The Site-Admin has access to all teachers report cards within the school site. Classroom Teachers: Teachers with students assigned to their class in Aeries are automatically assigned Classroom Teacher rights. The Classroom Teacher has full access to all report cards and addendums for the students who are assigned to his or her class in Aeries. Program Specialist Teachers: Teachers who teach or coach individual students from a number of classrooms have the capability of building their own class by selecting their students from the school site. These teachers are termed Program Specialist teachers within the Report Card system, but include Read 180 teachers, RSP teachers, Lsh Specialists and others. A classroom teacher may not be assigned Program Specialist teacher rights. Principals may request that teachers who need the access be granted Custom Class Teacher rights. Team Teachers: A maximum of two teachers may be granted Team Teacher credentials to one class. Each of the Team Teachers must only be assigned to one class. e.g. A Classroom Teacher in one class may not be additionally a Team Teacher in another class. A teacher may not be a Team Teacher in more than one class. Principals may request that qualifying teachers who need the access be granted Team Teacher rights. Long Term Substitutes: Principals may request that a Long Term Substitute teacher be granted access to a Classroom Teacher s student report cards. Elementary Report Card - Navigation Page 7
