Navigator 6.0 new user interface quick start guide Welcome to Siemens Navigator 6.0. Navigator has been upgraded with a new user interface, designed specifically to enhance productivity and ease of use. For existing Navigator users, this regular upgrade is free of charge and included within the scope of the existing service agreement. This presentation provides an overview of what has changed and highlights the new features and functionalities. Page 2

Overview The most fundamental change made to the previous Navigator user interface is the increased flexibility to personally organize your dashboard application views or apps with individual tagging and categorization features. In addition, there is a master search bar to quickly and easily find your Apps. There is no limitation to the amount of dashboard App views you can create. All of the Apps can be accessed directly from the homepage, which can be accessed via the icon. Furthermore, Apps and App group categories can be added to your favorites which appear in the primary header bar. Page 4
Primary navigation The previous Navigator user interface had a fixed primary navigation to display the different groupings of dashboard application views. These are referred to as app groups. Secondary navigation The grouping of dashboard applications within Navigator is now more intuitively placed on the left hand side and can be collapsed at any time. Previous secondary navigation New secondary navigation Page 6
Maximize your view To maximize your overall dashboard view in Navigator, the header at the top of the page can now be hidden. To do so, simply click on the maximize icon located in the top right corner. Page 7
Homepage The Navigator homepage displays all of your app groups and applications in one place. With the new user interface, you are now able to group, color-code, and tag dashboard applications to quickly search and identify content that is relevant for your tasks at hand. The following pages describe these features in more detail. Current homepage Page 8
Homepage favorites From the homepage, you can designate an app group or application as a favorite by selecting the icon. An app group or application that is a favorite will be marked by the icon. Any favorite app groups or applications will now display in your primary navigation. Current homepage Page 9
Homepage adding apps To create a new application on the homepage, click the button at the right side of the app groups, select create new app and give it a name. You can also select an existing app from the dropdown list and add it to the app group. App group on homepage Create new app menu Page 10
Homepage adding widgets to your app Once you have created an app from the homepage, you can add widgets by opening the widget dock with the icon. You can view a description of each widget by hovering your mouse pointer over it. Multiple widgets can be dragged and dropped into the viewing area to create a personalized view of information. Homepage categories For each dashboard application you can edit and modify the category and the associated color. Current homepage Page 12
Homepage #Tags For each dashboard application you can add hash tags like #private or #public for indexing and searching purposes. The #public can be searched by all users, while #private can only be searched by you. Search and filter There are several ways to search and filter your dashboard application views. This can be done directly from the search box by searching for application names, category names and #tags. In addition you can filter by overall category or your favorites. Page 14
