Introduction: Safety comes first when you re on the road, so having an intuitive and easy to use Bluetooth kit is essential to reducing driver distraction. The JAGCD-HF kit is compatible with virtually all Bluetooth phones, and sounds great whether you are using it for mobile conversations or streaming music. In addition, the JAGCD- HF retains use of the CD Changer and includes a USB Charging port to keep your devices fully charged. The audio adapter connects at the Changer in the trunk and Bluetooth module installs beneath center console glove box (armrest). See Frequent Asked questions and Feature Comparison at the end of this guide Notes: - When calling or receiving call, this kit will not mute in AM/FM Mode. Muting calls is only possible in CD mode (Bluetooth Mode). - Must use the mic/control button included with kit (factory microphone does not apply) - CD Changer is required and remains fully functional. Audio Adapter Installation: 1. Remove carpet trim piece surrounding audio rack 2. Remove (4) 8mm nuts securing rack to the vehicle. 3. Lean rack forward to reveal wiring and connections on the back 4. Locate thick cable connecting CD Changer to Amplifier. (See Fig. 1) 1 Fig. 1 5. Remove cable from holding tab and disconnect by gasping both terminals and gently pulling apart (do not twist) 6. CD Changer female terminal (right) and Amplifier Male Plug (left) as seen in Fig. 2) 2 Fig. 2 7. Align arrow on plug with arrow on Audio box and push together (don t twist) (See Fig. 3) 3 Fig. 3 Audio Female (left) & male (right) connections

8. Connect male plug from Audio box (See Fig. 3) 3 to CD Changer connector. 9. Route the 6-pin audio cable plug to center console area. Routing Audio cable 1. Use a pry tool to open gap between window pillar and rear deck as seen in Fig. 5. 5 From inside trunk fish the audio plug (See Fig. 4) 4 through and into the cabin. ( See Fig. 6 ) Fig. 7 Fig. 8 12 ft. Audio cable Fig. 9 3. Continue to use pry tool or fingers to fish wire under center glove box into storage bin. 4. To remove storage bin: Open the center glove box and remove 2 Philips head screws from latch cover and two more from hinge then remove the single screw on retainer bracket. 5. Lift to remove storage bin and set aside. 6. Locate audio plug fed through in step 3 and gently pull excess cable. Fig. 5 Fig. 6 Note: The aforementioned steps apply to Sedan models. X100 or Convertible modes will require additional steps not part of this guide. 2. Pull excess cable and begin tucking under backrest and seat cushion as you work towards the rear of the center glove box (armrest) as seen in Fig. 7, Fig. 8 and Fig. 9

Installing Module In our t 2001 XJR Premium Audio test vehicle, Bluetooth Module was secured to sidewall inside center armrest and is suitable in all vehicles. In this area you will find the factory phone plug (See Fig. 11) and cigar lighter, either of which can be used to power Bluetooth Module (see Fig. 10). 1 Tap Red wire to 12V Accessory Supply (Do not connect to constant battery supply) and Black wire to ground. 1. x308 with 10-pin plug (See Fig. 11): Tap Red wire to pin 10 (white/green) and Black wire to pin 6 (black) 2. x100 with 14 or 18-way AMP plug (See Fig.. 11b): Tap Red wire to pin 5 (Green) and Black wire to pin 11 (Black) Fig. 11b 3. If there is no phone plug, use the cigar lighter under console: Tap Red wire to White/Blue= 12V ACC Tap Black wire to Black=Ground Fig. 10 Fig. 12 Fig. 11 Note: The cigar lighter supply may introduce noise into the system. This is not the fault of our module but electrical system in your car. Find a clean power/ground supply (we recommend factory phone plug or elsewhere) or if install a noise filter.

4. Connect 6-pin Audio splitter (See Fig. 13) to 6-pin audio cable from step 1(audio cable) Fig. 15 Module 7. Connect control/mic plug (See Fig. 16) 1 to blue input jack on Module (See Fig. 15) Fig. 13 Audio Splitter 5. Connect short 3.5mm plug on audio splitter (See Fig. 13) to pigtail Audio jack from module (See Fig. 14) Fig. 16 Control button/microphone Fig. 14 1 Audio Jack 6. Connect longer 3.5mm plug from audio splitter (See Fig. 13) to (CD) input jack on Module (See Fig. 15) 8. Consider where to install control/mic button. Keep in mind the control button must be facing forward and within drivers reach for voice commands and phone dialog (cable is 6ft. long). We recommend completing the remainder of the install prior to securing control/mic button to dash. To install simply remove tape backing (See Fig. 17) 1 and stick to dash (See Fig. 18) See Optional Microphone/control button installation kit at the end of this guide.

A. Flush Mount to Dash or Panel (drilling required) 1. Drill a ¾ hole in dash or panel using a step drill bit or equivalent (See Fig. 19) Fig. 17 Control/Mic button Fig. 19 Step drill bit 2. Insert 3.2ft. (1 Meter) USB male terminal (See Fig. 20) through the ¾ hole created in step 1 and connect to USB port on Module (See Fig. 21) Fig. 18 1 Control button/mic on dash Make sure no ventilation duct is pointed towards the mic. It is best to mount button facing driver The USB port is for charging only. Should you decide to use it, we suggest one of 3 install options: A. Flush to dash/panel (requires drilling a ¾ hole) B. Flush Mount with Support bracket (use this option to mount USB wherever your installation demands without drilling) C. No USB Mount- (default) Fig. 20 Flush mount 3.2 ft. USB cable Fig. 21 Module USB port

3. Push USB head (See Fig. 22) until it snaps in place and flush with mounting surface (See Fig. 23) Fig. 24 USB mounting bracket Fig. 22 Flush mount USB Terminal 2. Insert USB male terminal through hole in bracket (See Fig. 25) and connect to USB port on Module (See Fig. 21) Fig. 23 Flush mounted to dash Fig. 25 3. Push USB head until it snaps in place and flush (See Fig. 26) 4. Tuck and secure any extra wire from moving parts Note: Many have reported a flush install to the back wall of the storage compartment. B. Flush mount with Support Bracket (No drilling) 1. Locate a flat surface at location of choice within 3.2 ft. (1 meter) of module and mount USB support bracket (See Fig. 24) to surface using adhesive/tape or screws. Fig. 26 4. Tuck and secure any extra wire away from moving C. No USB Mount (default) USB port is for charging only. Connect your own USB2.0 extension cable or proceed to next step if charging is not required.

Congratulations, you ve just updated your vehicle to support new technology while preserving the original radio and dash components. Enjoy! CD Changer Operation The JAGCD-HF unlike our JAG-HF and BT45-JAG retains CD Changer functionality. To operate the CD Changer, simply press CD button on radio (if not already in that mode), press control button 4 times. To exit CD Changer mode press control button once. (Returns to streaming audio) Use radio CD Changer control buttons to select tracks as customary. If at some point you decide to not connect CD Changer audio to module, you can instead connect any audio device to CD input in other words you can use the CD input to play an ipod, Mp3 Player, Satellite Radio and etc. instead of CD Changer your choice! Feature Comparison: Feature JAG-HF JAGCD-HF BT45-JAG CD Changer Retention Audio input (aux) * Charging Mute Feature Separate Microphone Requires CD Changer Voice Activation Requires factory phone Plug Plug-n-play installation *Aux input instead of CD Changer

Optional remote microphone Kit The control button has a built-in microphone which means mounting the control button on the dash may allow for control but may not be optimum for issuing commands or hands-free talk. Many customers have asked if it s possible to use a remote microphone or one that mounts on the visor etc. The optional G2-HF (See Fig. 28) Kit includes: 1. Microphone with visor clip on 10ft cable 2. Plug-n-play install harness Frequent asked questions 1. I m having trouble pairing another phone. What do I do? In order to pair with a second phone make sure no other phone is connected. Once the device is free, it is ready for pairing. 2. Why is audio system so important when it comes to installing your audio adapters? It s important because of the many components that make up the premium audio system. 2000-Up Premium P Sound Systems have an amplifier mounted atop the audio rack (See picture below) and subwoofer on rear deck (Sedan) or rear side panel (convertible) Fig. 28 To install: 1. Connect 4-pin 3.5mm plug to mic input on module 2. Connect 4-pin 3.5mm plug from control button to the jack labelled control button 3. Connect 2-pin 3.5mm plug from microphone to Mic input jack with lip (indicated by arrow) 4. Route microphone to visor or location of choice and use clip to secure to vehicle. The audio adapter included in your kit must be connected to Changer in trunk/booth (Radio removal not required). 3. Can the JAGCD CD-HF be installed without removing the radio?
