Getting Started Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, or other) on your computer and type in the address (URL) that was provided by your Special Education Administrator. You will see a login window popup. Enter your district email address and the password provided to you by your Special Education Administrator. Click the button labeled log in. Dashboard Main Page The main Dashboard page displays links to reports, training materials, screencasts and news feeds. To access IEP Online, click on Services and Solutions at the top of the screen. IEP To create an IEP, click on the Plan tab at the top of the screen, then select the create button: Enter the tentative meeting date and time, and then select the Type of IEP from the dropdown list. If Review is selected, the user may click on the checkbox to copy over minimum data from previously locked record. The record that was created now displays on the Plan list screen. IEP/Notification The plan notification tab generates the notification letter of the IEP meeting. Emails may be sent to the meeting participants notifying them of the meeting. Begin by selecting one of the three sub-sections of the notification tab: Meeting Info, Parental Contact, Student Contact or Meeting Participants. Proprietary and Confidential Page 5 1/10/2013
IEP/Planning In the planning tab, you must fill in the yellow start and end dates for the IEP. You may also indicate the end of the school year and start of the following year to accommodate for the summer months using the white date fields. In Considerations document areas that were considered in completing the IEP. To give more details, click on the blue link for each item and add text to the field. Use the arrows in the lower left corner to move to the next consideration : Graduation and diploma options are accessed on this screen. If the student is 17 years old in the year of the IEP, document the majority rights in the bottom right corner.. Proprietary and Confidential Page 6 1/10/2013
IEP/Performance The performance tab offers the opportunity to document the student s present levels of academic achievement and functional performance. To document the student s present levels, select the blue link under performance levels. Proprietary and Confidential Page 7 1/10/2013
IEP/Transition The transition tab documents the post secondary goals, course of study, transition activities and agency linkages for students. Transition can be accessed at any time but is required beginning at age 14. To address transition, select each of the transition areas on the left of the screen. IEP/Goals To add an annual goal statement, click on the Create button in the upper right corner of the screen. An IEP can have an unlimited number of annual goals, and within each goal there can be multiple objectives. To keep all of this information organized, each annual goal has its own screen.. IEP/Goal Detail Screen On the Goal detail screen, the attainment date populates with the end date of the IEP entered on the planning tab. The area of need that the annual goal is addressing is entered the Area of Need field. The content of the annual goal is documented in the Description field. The attainment date and student name will auto populate on the printed IEP so there is no need to re-enter this information. For each annual goal, select the subheadings of evaluation methods and objectives (as needed). Within the Evaluation Methods link, identify the reporting interval for this goal. Click the save button to add the annual goal. The name of the goal appears on the left of the screen. Proprietary and Confidential Page 10 1/10/2013
IEP/Services Click the Create button in the upper right corner of the screen to define the special education services, related services and transportation services the student will receive. Select the service type from the window displayed below: The service details screen provides a series of drop down menu selections to document special education, related or transportation services. service: Proprietary and Confidential Page 11 1/10/2013
IEP/LRE On the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) tab, you will document the placement continuum, place rationale and decision for the student. Proprietary and Confidential Page 12 1/10/2013
IEP/Modifications On the Accommodations tab, select the program modifications and accommodations as well as state testing accommodations by clicking on the create button in the upper right corner. Select the Accommodation category. In the details screen enter a key word and accommodations options will display for your selection: The testing accommodations will pull over into the Testing tab within the IEP. IEP/Testing The testing tab displays the state and division assessments that are required based on the students grade level. To access a test, click on the blue hyperlink and click create in the loser right corner Proprietary and Confidential Page 14 1/10/2013
IEP/Consent and Prior Notice Users document IEP team decisions on the Prior Notice tab. Parental consent to implement the IEP and placement decision is also documented on this screen.. Proprietary and Confidential Page 15 1/10/2013
Locked IEP/Progress Progress may be tracked only after the IEP is locked. Upon opening a locked IEP record, the first tab you will see is the progress tab. You will see a lock icon and a note stating that the record is locked on the right. Select Goal Progress to access the goals for the student. Proprietary and Confidential Page 16 1/10/2013

IEP/Progress/Goal Progress/Goal Progress Detail On the Progress details screen, enter the date of your progress report, and select the progress indicator from the drop down menu. Click save to save the updated progress and close the window; click cancel if no changes were made, or to close without saving. Proprietary and Confidential Page 18 1/10/2013
IEP/Student List/Goal Progress/Quick Entry Goal progress can also be updated via quick entry on the Student List screen. To select students with locked IEPs to be included Quick Entry progress updates, click on the checkbox in the upper right corner of the student list. IEP/Student List/Quick Entry/Goal or Objective Progress Select Goal or Objective progress. Enter the progress for each goal. If you wish to do the objective progress, you will need to select quick entry again to do the objectives. To print out the progress reports, make sure the students are selected, click print and select Goal Progress Print All of the progress information added via Quick Entry will be viewable in the IEP too.
