Audience Preface This document will illustrate the changes needed for OPERA Cloud Authentication for OXI interfaces. This document is intended for implementations of OPERA Cloud or OPERA v5.5.x Cloud and above. 1 General Information For OPERA Cloud implementations of OPERA v5.0.05.00 and above, there is a new authentication piece that will be passed as part of the request header to the ADS URL. This new authentication will be use the Basic Authentication Scheme as defined in the HTTP standard. This involves passing Authorization in the request header which is a base64 encoded username and password. For more information, please reference https://www.w3.org/protocols/http/1.0/spec.html and refer to section 11.1 Basic Authentication Scheme. General Information 5

2 Implementation For each OPERA Cloud implementation, the vendor will be provided a unique username and password from the Oracle Hosting Center. The provided credentials will expire 365 days from date of issuance. Oracle Hosting will be responsible for changing the credentials and providing to the vendor prior to expiration. In the future, this will move to a self-service item between the hotel and vendor. The UserName will be of length 20 and Password will be of length 30. Both will support alphanumeric and special characters. Additionally the URL that the vendor posts to may also change per implementation. 6 Implementation
