If you change Print Server Setup information, do so before you reconfigure the connection. BEFORE YOU BEGIN Print the Print Server Configuration page. For instructions on printing the Configuration page, see Configuration and Setup, which is part of the user documentation set. The Print Server Configuration page contains information you need when configuring the connection, such as the IP address of the Print Server. For TCP/IP installations, you can use the DNS name instead of the IP address. Make sure that the Print Server is registered in a Domain Name Server (DNS) on your network. For more information, contact your network administrator.

Page 6 TO CONFIGURE THE CONNECTION FOR COMMAND WORKSTATION VERSION 5 1 Start Command WorkStation version 5: From a Windows computer: Programs > Fiery > Command WorkStation version 5. From a Mac OS computer: Applications > Fiery > Command WorkStation version 5. 2 Type the DNS name or IP address and click Add to add the server to the Disconnected Servers list. Command WorkStation version 5 is now connected to the Print Server. For information about managing and connecting additional Print Servers, see the Command WorkStation version 5 Help.

Page 8 About Fiery SeeQuence Suite Fiery SeeQuence Suite software consists of SeeQuence Impose and SeeQuence Compose and is available in the following optional kit configurations: Fiery SeeQuence Impose kit (includes the Adobe Acrobat/Enfocus PitStop DVD and a dongle) Fiery SeeQuence Compose kit (includes the Adobe Acrobat/Enfocus PitStop DVD and a dongle) Fiery SeeQuence Suite kit, which includes both SeeQuence Impose and SeeQuence Compose (includes the Adobe Acrobat/Enfocus PitStop DVD and a single dongle) SeeQuence Impose and SeeQuence Compose are supported on both Windows and Mac OS computers. For information about system requirements, see System requirements on page 2. SeeQuence Impose allows you to apply imposition layouts to jobs for special printing and binding needs. In addition, SeeQuence Impose allows you to impose variable data printing jobs. To use SeeQuence Impose, you must have Adobe Acrobat with PitStop installed. SeeQuence Compose allows you to apply mixed media settings to your job in the same workflow as imposition settings. SeeQuence Compose is a software application that allows you to prepare a job (spooled or held in Command WorkStation version 5) to be printed. NOTE: SeeQuence Suite, SeeQuence Impose, and SeeQuence Compose are optional upgrade kits for Command WorkStation version 5. You must have the software kit-specific dongle installed on your workstation to use the full functionality of the optional software. If you do not have the dongle installed, SeeQuence runs in Demo mode. In Demo mode, imposed jobs print with a watermark, and you can save imposed jobs in.dbp format to the Print Server. You cannot save imposed jobs in Adobe PDF format to a hard drive and Print Server when you are in Demo mode.

Page 9 Enabling SeeQuence software SeeQuence Impose and SeeQuence Compose are dongle-protected features of Command WorkStation version 5 that work in conjunction with Adobe Acrobat and the Enfocus PitStop plug-in. You must install a special dongle on each workstation that runs the SeeQuence software. This section explains how to install the dongle and the required software. You will need the following items: Adobe Acrobat/Enfocus PitStop DVD: Contains installers for Adobe Acrobat version 9 and Enfocus PitStop, a plug-in module for Acrobat. NOTE: Acrobat must be installed on the computer to preview.ps files. You do not need Acrobat or PitStop to preview.pdf files. Dongle: A USB dongle included in one of the following option kits: Fiery SeeQuence Impose kit Fiery SeeQuence Compose kit Fiery SeeQuence Suite kit, which includes both SeeQuence Impose and SeeQuence Compose (includes a single dongle) NOTE: If you have purchased an earlier version of Impose or Compose, you can use the dongles you already own to enable SeeQuence Impose or SeeQuence Compose. If it is not already installed, you will need to install Command WorkStation version 5. See Installing Command WorkStation version 5 on page 4. Installing Command WorkStation version 5 installs the core SeeQuence software.

Page 10 To enable SeeQuence software on a client workstation (or the Print Server, if it supports and is equipped with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse), do the following: Install the dongle provided in your kit directly on the workstation. One dongle is required for each client workstation. Install Acrobat and PitStop from the installer DVD (Windows or Mac OS) provided in this kit. If not already installed Install Command WorkStation version 5 from the Fiery Command WorkStation version 5 DVD for this Print Server. NOTE: If you are enabling SeeQuence software on the Print Server, the following procedures assume that you have logged on to the Print Server with Administrator privileges and typed the appropriate password. To ensure network security, the system administrator may change this password frequently. Contact your Print Server administrator to obtain the password. TO INSTALL THE DONGLE 1 If Command WorkStation version 5 is installed and running on the workstation, exit Command WorkStation version 5. NOTE: If Command WorkStation version 5 is running, the dongle installation (described in step 2) will fail. 2 Unpack the dongle and install it directly into the workstation s USB connector. Insert the dongle into the USB connector of the workstation. Make sure that the dongle is securely installed in the connector. Install Acrobat and PitStop, as described in the following procedure.

Page 11 TO INSTALL ACROBAT AND PITSTOP 1 If you do not have the most recent version of Adobe Acrobat and Enfocus PitStop installed, uninstall the versions of Adobe Acrobat and Enfocus PitStop that are currently resident on the workstation. NOTE: SeeQuence supports Acrobat 7, 8, and 9 on Windows computers, and Acrobat 8 and 9 for Mac OS computers. Close all open applications. Follow the instructions for your computer for removing programs. After you finish uninstalling earlier versions of Acrobat and PitStop, restart the workstation. 2 Close all software applications that are currently running on the workstation. 3 Insert the Adobe Acrobat/Enfocus PitStop DVD (Windows or Mac OS) into the DVD drive. 4 If the installer does not start automatically, navigate to the root level of the DVD and doubleclick Setup.exe (Windows) or Setup.app (Mac OS). 5 Click Install and follow the on-screen instructions. The SeeQuence software option that you have purchased is now fully enabled.
