Thursday, November 5, 2015 High School Newsletter MODEL UNITED NATIONS (MUN) CONFERENCE @ The Sultan s School: Twenty students participated in this conference held on Friday & Saturday (Nov. 6-7). The issues under debate were: 1. Measures to address the refugee crisis. 2. Efforts to control weapons of mass destruction. 3. Measures to protect against cyber warfare. Model United Nations, is an educational simulation and/or academic competition in which students learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. American Flag Football Activity When: Starting Tuesday, Nov. 17 (& all Tuesdays after) Where: TAISM grass field (report to Mr. Spilles s room by 3:40) Who: Any interested H.S. students (boys and girls) Why: Because it s fun and a great way to relieve stress! Portrait by a Nation contest is an art extravaganza organized by Y Magazine, to celebrate Oman s 45th National Day. Y Magazine will provide a pre-printed canvas of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, for the children to paint or decorate. The event will be held on November 13-14 at Al Mouj, Muscat. Entry is restricted to children aged between 5 and 17 years old. Please complete a registration form to participate in this contest. Registration forms are available in the HS Office or visit y-oman.com/register to register online. Completed forms can be submitted to the Elementary School Office or the Parent Volunteer Coordinator s office, Room 148. Last date to submit the completed forms is Tuesday, November, 10, 2015.
