Data sheet HPE 3PAR StoreServ Data Migration Service HPE Consulting and Integration Services Data migration simplified Available in convenient packaged offerings, HP Enterprise 3PAR StoreServ Data Migration Service simplifies the data migration process and provides a flexible way to migrate your organization s critical data safely, with minimal impact on your operations. Using this service, you can leverage HPE s depth of technical capabilities, combined with proven migration methodologies, to help you increase OPEX and CAPEX savings and accelerate your transition to HPE 3PAR StoreServ Storage. HPE 3PAR StoreServ Data Migration Service offers several online and offline options for migrating your data to align with your organization s requirements, budgets, and timelines. You can determine which production and/or non-production hosts to migrate to HPE 3PAR Storage. An HPE data migration specialist will be onsite during the migration cutover window. You can choose to focus data migration efforts on critical production systems, or you can learn the migration process to complete additional systems yourself. Either way, this service provides you with the flexibility to accomplish your migration to HPE 3PAR Storage. This service is available in four different options. Each option of service allows you to focus on a specific number of identified hosts, and the amount of data to be migrated to your new HPE 3PAR StoreServ platform. An HPE data migration specialist will provide on-site consulting services during migration. Service Deliverables Service deliverables can vary depending on the data migration package option you select. Environment Final Discovery (EFD) report contains an overview of all the necessary information on the environment s assets (servers, storage arrays, and SAN ports) in scope of the data migration. In Option 3 and 4 of this service, an HPE Migration Expert will create this report after discovery of your environment. In the smallest options (Options 1 and 2), the discovery will be done based on a questionnaire filled in by the customer. Remediation report documents the in-scope servers, storage arrays, and storage area network (SAN) upgrades to achieve a supported configuration with the new target HPE 3PAR Storage array Migration plan provides a high-level project plan with project schedule, in-scope servers, and rolled-up migration tasks with owners Block-level data migration design defines the data movement methodology that will be used for migrating the environment Block-level data migration methodology cookbook outlines the process flow involved in the migration method used Block-level data migration execution HPE partners with your team to execute the migration and cutover to the target HPE 3PAR Storage array You should always consider purchasing an HPE Data Migration Service in conjunction with installation and startup services for all HPE storage products. HPE will assist the Customer with project coordination by initiating the project with a kick-off meeting and organizing regular follow-up and status meetings (available with Option 3 and 4 only). HPE will analyze the in-scope servers and source environment, then document the remediation requirements (available with Option 3 and 4 only). HPE will identify the appropriate migration methodology and develop a data migration cookbook for this migration methodology. HPE will also perform a migration pilot based on the data migration cookbook. HPE will assist the Customer s team with determining the proposed schedule to complete the migration successfully. HPE will configure the necessary migration tools and execute the methodology for data migration from the source to the HPE 3PAR Storage array.
Data sheet Page 4 Service limitations Activities such as but, not limited to, the following are excluded from this service: Resolution of hardware-related problems encountered during the verification testing process, unless covered by an active HPE warranty or an applicable HPE Hardware Support agreement Required remediation to attached hosts, operating systems, host bus adapters (HBAs), switches, or source arrays Application integration or integration of third-party products, backup testing, custom scripting, or peripherals Any services not clearly specified in this document or in an associated Statement of Work (SOW) Target 3PAR Storage array design Prerequisites HPE 3PAR StoreServ Data Migration Service excludes required HPE 3PAR Storage Installation and Startup Services, which must be purchased separately. Customer responsibilities The Customer will: Provide the necessary information and outputs to HPE to complete the service Assign a Customer project manager, who will grant all approvals; provide information; act as the primary contact throughout the project; be authorized to sign reports, project changes, and acceptance of deliverables; and otherwise be available to assist HPE in facilitating the delivery of this service Provide a suitable work area for delivery of the service, including access to an outside telephone line, power, and any network connections required Adhere to licensing terms and conditions regarding the use of any HPE service tool, or of the original manufacturer software used to facilitate the delivery of this service, if applicable Allow HPE full and unrestricted access to all locations where the service will be performed Ensure participation of the Customer s IT storage administrator, database administrator, and other selected staff to discuss business/operational objectives and any special requirements, as well as validate the environment after the migration is completed Ensure that the target HPE 3PAR Storage array is installed, configured, and accessible to the appropriate hosts Provide access to the source array management server for installing discovery software to map existing storage Install any recommended host-based patching or software upgrades, including device drivers, multipathing software, and/or switch firmware to support the HPE 3PAR Storage platform and migration design Meet all the technical prerequisites identified by the HPE service specialist that are needed to successfully complete service delivery; these may include, but are not limited to, cabling, connectivity, and sufficient bandwidth between the source array and the HPE 3PAR Storage array Ensure that data recoverability plans are in place prior to service deployment through proven means, such as performing a full backup of the data to be migrated and providing access to this backup data when requested by HPE
Data sheet General provisions/other exclusions The HPE migration team will select migration toolsets proposed to the Customer. Scheduled delivery of services will be coordinated between the HPE project manager and the Customer. HPE requires 10 business days from receipt of the signed SOW and authorized purchase order to commence services. Services and/or service hours will expire at the end of 120 days from the date of purchase if not used HPE reserves the right to charge over and above the service package pricing, on a time and materials basis, for any additional work required to address service prerequisites, other requirements that are not met by the Customer, or any needed out-of-office hours. HPE s ability to deliver this service is dependent upon the Customer s full and timely cooperation with HPE, as well as the accuracy and completeness of any information and data the Customer provides to HPE. Data cloning (business copies) or data replication (remote copies) implementations and integrations are excluded from this service.
