BSBITU201A Simple Word 2013 Vertical Alignment on Page The default setting is for text and other content to be aligned on a page from the top down. When you type text it starts at the top of the page and feeds down. You can align it so it starts in the center and spreads out from there, or from the bottom of the page. It can even be justified across the page through the paragraph spacing. Top Centre Bottom Justified 1. Open the file Report Sales 2. Click on the PAGE LAYOUT tab and click on the Page Setup link 3. Click on the Layout tab 4. Click on the droplist button for Vertical alignment 5. Click on Centre and OK Your document should appear as the sample above. 6. Click on the Page Setup link 7. Display 6 Clip Art Wrapping The default setting when inserting ClipArt or other images is to put the object in line with text. This makes it hard to move around and position it exactly where you want it. You can change the setting in Word so that the object is easier to move. 1. Click on the Tab File then the Options button Options 2. Click on the Advanced tab 3. Scroll down to the Cut, copy and paste section 4. Click on the droplist button for Insert/paste pictures as: and click on Tight Advanced Insert/paste pictures as: 5. BSBITU201A Simple Word 2013 Insert Image Files Adding pictures and graphics to a document creates some extra interest and can be used to illustrate the purpose of an article. Clip Art can add extra impact to the page. Microsoft Word has some Clip Art that can be used if you don t have specific image files. 1. Start a New document no need to save it 2. Click on the tab INSERT Online Pictures in the ribbon to display the Insert Clip Art Task Pane as shown below 3. Type Telephone in the Search box and click on the Search button Search 4. Scroll through the Results and click on one Click on the clip to insert it The Clip will appear on the screen. 5. Repeat to enter several Clip Art pieces. Display 6 Resizing Clip Art You can resize the Clip Art and move it to an appropriate position on any slide. The Clip Art must be selected to move or resize it. Clip Art is selected when the resize handles are displayed. We use the resize handles to change the size of the Clip Art. 1. Move mouse over the top right corner handle until it changes to a double headed arrow Resize handles 2. Click and hold mouse button down and drag diagonally down to the left 3. Release mouse 4. BSBITU201A Simple Word 2013 Moving Clip Art You can easily move the Clip Art to the exact position you want it to appear. 1. Select it so the Resize handles are showing 2. Move the mouse over the top of the Clip Art (not on a handle) - the mouse should still be a white arrow 3. Click, hold and drag the Clip Art to its new position The object is moved as the mouse moves to the new position. 4. Release the mouse and the Clip Art will be in the new position 5. Practice this whole process with two other pieces of Clip Art If you have trouble moving a piece of ClipArt it may have been inserted with a Text Wrapping setting of In Line with Text. You can change this setting for this piece of Clip Art with the following steps: 6. Click on the Clip Art image to select it 7. Click on the Layout Options button displayed with the object 8. Click on Tight 9. Click on the Layout Options button again to close the list Deleting Clip Art Clip Art objects are easy to delete. 1. Click on the Clip Art so the resize handles are showing 2. Display 6 Inserting Picture Image Files Images and graphics from sources other then Clip Art can also be inserted. In this example you will insert a picture file from your student disk. 1. Start a new file and save it as Mobile Phones Off Sign 2. Enter the text: The show is about to start! For all viewers comfort and enjoyment please ensure your mobile phones are switched off. Thank you! 3. Format all the text to be Font type Tahoma, Centre Aligned and Paragraph Spacing After of 12 pt 4. Format the first and last lines to be Font size 28 5. Format the middle paragraph to be Font size 24 and Font color of Deep Pink 6. Click on the Page Layout tab on the Ribbon 7. Click on the Page Setup link to Page Setup display the Page Setup dialog box 8. Click on the Layout tab and set the Vertical alignment to Bottom 9. BSBITU201A Simple Word 2013 10. Click on the tab INSERT Pictures in the ribbon The Insert Picture dialog box appears. 11. Click on the Look in box 12. Display the drive your files are in 13. Open the Word Documents 2013 folder 14. Click on the No mobile phones file 15. Click on Insert Pictures Insert The picture will appear on the page. Display 6 Select and Resize a Picture Image We want to make this image larger on the page. 1. Click on the image so the resize handles are showing 2. Click and hold on the upper right handle and drag it up towards the right corner 3. Release the mouse when the image is about twice its original size Wrap Text around Image We need to move the image into a better position. 1. Click on the image, hold the mouse button down and drag it up the page as far as you can you may find that you cannot move it this will be due to the WrapText settings 2. Click on the Layout Options button to display a list of available wrapping styles check that Tight is selected 3. BSBITU201A Simple Word 2013 Page Border A Page Border can be applied to the whole page. 1. Click on the tab DESIGN Page Borders in the Page Background Group Design Page Borders 2. Check the Page Border tab is selected Normal borders are available and there is also the option of using Art borders. 3. Click on the Box style in the Setting: section 4. Click on the Solid line in the Style list 5. Click on the droplist button for Color and click on Deep pink (that s what I call it) 6. Click on the Width droplist button and click on 3 pt 7. Check the Preview then click on OK The border is placed around the page if it was a multipage document it would appear on each page. 8. Display 6 Practice Exercise 6.1 Practice Exercise 5.1 in chapter 5, page 124, required you to create a document and Save it as ABC Staff Information. If you have not completed this exercise then do it now; otherwise, open the file now to use in this exercise. 1. Open or create the file ABC Staff Information 2. Set the Vertical Alignment for the document to be Justified 3. Insert a piece of Clip Art on each page (not the title page) that is relevant to the content, modify the text wrapping if necessary so the Clip Art is easy to place 4. Insert the image ABC People on the first page (ABC People is supplied with your student files in the Word Documents 2013 folder) 5. Apply a Page Border that is a double solid blue line, colored navy blue and ¾ pt thick 6. Check that you have completed all requirements 7. If the email address has automatically underlined, highlight it and click on the Underline button twice on the Home tab to remove the underline 8. Press [Enter] three times 9. Format the remaining lines and text as Font size 10, Font type Arial, Font colour Black 11. Display 6 Insert Symbols 12. Click at the start of the telephone number 13. Click on the tab INSERT Symbol in the Ribbon Recently used symbols will appear, however yours will probably be different to that shown here. 14. Click on the More Symbols option More Symbols 15. Click in the droplist button for Font and scroll down and click on Wingdings if necessary 16. Click on the Telephone symbol then click on Insert and then Close Font Telephone Close Insert The symbol will appear at the start of the text. (07) 9876 5432 17. BSBITU201A Simple Word 2013 18. Select all the text and lines and click tab HOME Copy 19. Click on Paste twice so you have three sets 20. You may need to adjust the space between With Compliments and the other text in each of the sets so that all text is still on the one page 21. Insert the image file Greenery Logo from your student files 22. Change the Wrap Text setting to be In Front of Text 23. Resize and position the image on the far left of the page 24. Click on the image and click tab HOME Copy 25. Click on Paste twice so you have three images 26. Move each of the images so they are evenly spaced down the left of the page Now you have a page of three compliments slips that, once printed, can be cut into three, preferably with a guillotine. 27. Display 6 Borders and Shading Adding borders to your work is a simple way to produce effective documents. Well placed borders guide your reader s eye ensuring that your intended messages are received. Borders can range from a simple single line to an intricate border. Borders and Shading can be applied to a paragraph or just pieces of text within a paragraph. 1. Open the file Dingaling Business Deals 2. Click on tab VIEW Print Layout (You may already be in Print Layout) Print Layout View Bordering Paragraphs 3. Highlight the first heading 4. Click on the tab Home Borders and Shading droplist arrow Border droplist arrow Note: The Borders and Shading button will change to the last action carried out so it may change in appearance. 5. BSBITU201A Simple Word 2013 6. Click on the Borders tab if necessary this is virtually the same as previous versions of Microsoft Word 7. Follow the numbered boxes shown below Borders 2 Pick a style 1 Pick a setting 3 Paragraph appears here 4 Click on OK The heading will now have a border around it. If you want to put some extra space between the text and the border you need to put an extra line above and below the text. 8. Click at the start of the heading and press [Enter] 9. Click at the end of the heading text and press [Enter] Now the heading has extra space between it and the border. To adjust the space, format the line to be just 6 pt. 10. Highlight the line above the heading, click on the Font size button then 6 pt 11. Repeat for the line below the heading 150 Microstar Publishing Pty Ltd 2013

Display 6 Quick Border We can apply borders quickly using the Border button on the Home tab. 12. Scroll to the second page and highlight the main heading 13. Click on the Borders and Shading button drop list button (Note: The Borders and Shading button toggles) 14. Select the Outside Borders The type of border that is applied depends on how you select the text. If you highlight a complete paragraph then a paragraph border will be applied. If you highlight only the text then a text border will be applied. Remove a Border Use these instructions if you need to remove a border: 1. Highlight the lines or text that have a border around it 2. Click on the Border drop list button and select the No Border button No Border Microstar Publishing Pty Ltd 2013 151

BSBITU201A Simple Word 2013 Applying Shading to Paragraphs 1. Highlight the main heading again and the lines above and below the heading of the file Dingaling Business Deals 2. Click on the tab HOME Borders and Shading droplist button Borders and Shading at the end of the list 3. Click on the Shading tab 4. Click on the Fill box droplist arrow to view all the color options Shading Fill 5. Click on the droplist arrow for the Style box Style 6. Click on 20% 7. Click on OK to view your shading 8. Save and close the file Remove Shading Use these instructions if you need to remove shading: 1. Highlight the text that is shaded 2. Click on HOME Borders and Shading droplist arrow Borders and Shading Shading tab 3. Click on Fill drop list arrow and select No Color at the top of the Fill selection 4. An image file, Fit Life, is supplied that is to be used for the backdrop. 1. Start a New file and Save as Fit Two for One 2. Paper size is A5 3. Text entered is: Get Fit for Life It s easy at Fit n Fun 2 for 1! Join now with a friend and get two memberships for the price of one! Twice the fun for half for price! Phone 03 9876 5432 or call in and see us! Fit n Fun 11 Beach Road St Kilda 03 9876 5432 4. Use Font Sizes so text is sized appropriately. 5. Use Font Color Pink for text: 2 for 1! Twice the fun for half the price! Fit n Fun 6. Use Font Color White for the last line of text 7. The last two lines of text are Aligned to the Centre 8. Margins are custom: Left and Right 1.5 cm, Top and Bottom 1.75 cm 9. Apply a Page Border 10. Image file is Fit Life resized to fit within the Page Border. 11. The image has Text Wrapping with the setting Behind Text 12. Edit the word us to have your name so you can identify the flyer when printed. 13. Check spelling and proofread, check all requirements have been met 14. After printing the paper will be cut in half and used for a letterbox drop. Once you have completed the flyer Copy all the text and image and paste it onto a second page so you have two identical pages. 15. Print the flyer using the settings to print 1 copy but 2 pages in the Pages per sheet setting this will print both A5 pages on one A4 page. The page could then be cut in half to give two flyers. 16.
