Revised UN Plan of Action on Disaster Risk Reduction for Resilience Developed by HLCP s Senior Management Group on Disaster Risk Reduction, under the leadership of UN-ISDR Three key commitments: Strengthen system-wide coherence in support of the Sendai Framework and other agreements, through a risk-informed and integrated approach; Enhance UN system effectiveness to deliver support at the country-level; Ensure disaster risk reduction is a strategic priority for UN system organizations

Urbanization and Sustainable Development UN System Input to New Urban Agenda led by UN-Habitat Recognizes urbanization as one of the most important trends of the 21 st century Addresses challenges and opportunities of urbanization Proposes 10 guiding principles and 10 key levers of transformative change Serves as UN system-wide contribution to implementation of SDG 11 Promotes multi-stakeholder partnership for sustainable urbanization

Increased efficiency and modernization of operations Enabling the Business Operations Strategy and supporting the Standard Operating Procedures by developing tools and guidance for collaboration in operations Foreign Exchange project to date: savings over $20 million in 2012 and 2013 and over $36 million in 2014 Guidance for collaboration in ICT for the field available to UN Country Teams Obstacles to collaboration in procurement removed both at Headquarters and in the field (over $5 million savings in five countries according to BOS mid-term review). Collaborative procurement agreements for freight forwarding, freight insurance and vehicles in place is being negotiated

Improved Access to UN Procurement for Developing Countries/Countries with Economies in Transition Global initiative on Vendor Registration using the UN Global Marketplace (UNGM) Simplification of the vendor registration process: Currently over 80,000 registered vendors Over 60% of registered vendors are from Developing Countries or Countries with Economies in Transition 62.8% of UN procurement volume comes from Developing Countries or Countries with Economies in Transition Vendor management for high-volume local vendors is now available to UNCTs through the UN Global Marketplace UN Global Marketplace is available in UN working languages

Banking Agreements A global project on Common Banking under HLCM has achieved significant results 17 country-level banking contracts in high-volume or highcost countries have been negotiated Global agreements concluded with two banks, Ecobank Transnational INC covering 24 African Countries; and Standard and Chartered Bank covering 28 countries More global and local banking contracts are being negotiated to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of UN Organizations operations
