Product Change Notification Change Notification #: 111341-01 Change Title: Intel Ethernet Server Adapters I350- T2/T4/F4, Stony Lake Retail/OEM generic PCN 111341-01 Date of Publication: December 14, 2012 Product Design, Label, Product Material Capacitor Change and EEPROM Image Update from.93 to 1.63, Add flyer, Add EPC / EAN #s, Remove CDA (retail only) Reason for Revision: Include additional items and new implementation date. Key Characteristics of the Change: Product Design Label Product Material Forecasted Key Milestones: Date Customer Must be Ready to Receive Post-Conversion Material: Jan 31, 2013 Description of Change to the Customer: Reason for Revision: Include additional items and new implementation date. Original change was not implemented. The Intel Ethernet Server Adapters I350-T2/T4/F4, Stony Lake Retail/OEM generic will undergo the following changes: 1. Intel will be changing 5 capacitors to a lower height alternative. This change will reduce overall component height on the secondary side, which will improve margin against exceeding height limit.

2. The EEPROM image will be updated to fix the issues noted in Errata 18, 19, 21, 24, 25, 27, & 28 of the Intel spec update entitled, Intel Ethernet Controller I350 Specification Update V2.04b. Customers can obtain this spec update by contacting their local Intel Field Sales Representative. This EEPROM update will be made to all products noted in the affected products table within this PCN notice, except for the F4 (fiber) adapters which already have this EEPROM image implemented. EEPROM image update from.93 to 1.52 due to errata 18/19: Errata 18: 18. Alternate MAC Address Port Order (see spec update details) Problem: The datasheet specifies that the Alternate MAC Address Block in the EEPROM is ordered by PCIe function number. The firmware treats this block as being ordered by physical LAN port. These values are not identical if the LAN Function Sel bit (EEPROM word 0x21, bit 12) is 1b. In this case, the Alternate MAC Address values might be used in the wrong LAN port. Implication: Incorrect MAC addresses when the Alternate MAC Address Block is programmed in the EEPROM by software. Workaround: Program the Alternate MAC Address Block in LAN port order, rather than PCIe function order. Status: A1 EEPROM Fix Fixed in EEPROM version 1.52. Contact your Intel representative to obtain updated EEPROM images if you have prechange product that you would like to update. Errata 19: 19. Neighbor Discovery Offload: Override Bit not Set in Neighbor Advertisement Packet Problem: The Neighbor Advertisement packets transmitted by Powerville when providing the Neighbor Discovery protocol offload have the Override bit cleared. Since the protocol offload is functioning as a host system and not a router, the Override bit should be 1b. Implication: The requestor's Neighbor Cache table might not be updated correctly. Microsoft certification for Windows 8 fails as a result of this issue. Workaround: None. Status: A1 EEPROM Fix Fixed in EEPROM v1.52. 1.52 to 1.63: V1.59 27 January 2012 VF BAR is now set to 64 bit and pre-fetchable by default. Fix erratum #27; MCTP Interface is Not Functional in D3/Dr. Fix erratum # 28; MCTP: Command with Duplicate NC-SI IID is Ignored. V1.61 5 April 2012

Update NC-SI & MCTP code flow to follow the PCIe function when the physical port is swapped and /or disabled. Device ID is now mapped to PCIe function instead of physical port. Fix erratum #21; Firmware reset with loss of Manageability configuration when using SerDes. Fix erratum #24; Failures when functions are swapped and ports are disabled; Fix erratum #25; Firmware clears Flow Control setting. V1.63 26 October 2012 Add reserved space for VLAN PXE support. Fix erratum #26; Enabling a Port causes a reset of the Firmware. Add new definition of bit 8 of the Common Firmware Parameters 2 EEPROM word (see Specification-change #6 in the I350 Specification Update). 3. Remove CDA from all Retail SKUs (I350F4, I350F4BLK, I350T2, I350T2BLK, I350T4, I350T4BLK). 4. Replace existing China RoHS flyer with new flyer on OEM SKUs (I350T2G1P20, I350T4G1P20). Add new China RoHS flyer to all Retail SKUs (I350F4, I350F4BLK, I350T2, I350T2BLK, I350T4, I350T4BLK) 5. New Product ID label. Intel is removing the UPC code on the PBA Product ID label, and using the extra space to incorporate the WEEE and/or efup logos onto the Product ID label. The Product ID label is currently placed on either the front or back of the Printed board (PB).

Due to the standardization of UPC codes on the shipping label, the UPC code on the board Product ID label is no longer required, and it will be removed. If applicable, the WEEE and/or EFUP markings (WEEE= Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (Directive) and EFUP = Environment Friendly Use Period (China RoHS directive) (currently on separate, individual labels attached to the printed board) will be incorporated on the Product ID label. Current Label Example Only New Label Example only 6. Intel Corp is standardizing packaging label formats across the corporation. This will facilitate easier receiving for the end customer. Intel will begin implementation of UPC and EAN (European Article Number) codes on the product outer case labels. The online product catalog (ARK) will be updated with the new UPC & EAN info. A new line of text will be added that states either: Product is individually labeled for resale. Product is not individually labeled for resale. Additional fields are being added to display the outer case UPC and EAN codes for overall carton quantity. New UPC codes for individual boxes are also being added. 2D matrix label will be added for easier product information scanning. Customers should be aware that UPC and EAN codes on the outer case carton labels will be changed and that they may need to update their incoming receiving operations. Customers may receive both current and new inventory as the implementation occurs. Example of old & new disti (for overpack boxes) & outer box (for retail single boxes) labels below:

Existing Label (Example only) New Label (Example only)

Existing Label (Example only) New Label (Example only) As a result of these changes, the PBA (printed board assembly) and TA (top assembly) numbers will roll as noted in the affected products table within this PCN notice. If the PBA/TA numbers are printed on any product or box labels, those will show the PBA/TA dash roll as well.

Customer Impact of Change and Recommended Action: Customers can expect to receive mixed inventory until current inventory levels are depleted. The new lower height capacitors have been fully tested, qualified and approved by Intel. Intel anticipates no impact to the customer. Please contact your local Intel Field Sales Representative, if you have any further questions about this change.
