Required Tools All Le Div@ maintenance procedures can be performed using the following tools: Tweezers Small flat-head screwdriver Small Philips screwdriver Right-angled dentist style probe T15 torque hex screwdriver or key Disassembly Instructions This document contains step-by-step disassembly instructions for Le Div@. The instructions are clarified by images of the part that is being removed or disassembled. Furthermore, the screws that are removed are shown next to the image of the parts themselves. When disassembling the system unit, follow these general rules. Do not disassemble the system into parts that are smaller than those specified in the instructions. Label all removed connectors. Note where the connector goes and in what position it was installed. Turn off the power and disconnect all power and all options. Disassembly and Reassembly - 2

1. Removing the connector cover (bottom) Pull the two locks of the connector cover (bottom) towards the front, and remove the cover. The plastic clip that fixes the cable of the AC adapter, indicated by the arrow in the picture below, is attached to the rear cover. The DIP switch protective film is attached to the rear cover in the location, as shown in the picture below. Disassembly and Reassembly - 3

2. Removing the side connector cover Open the side connector cover. Push the two hinges towards each other as shown by the arrows in the picture below and remove the side connector cover. Disassembly and Reassembly - 4

3. Removing the rear stand assembly Remove the four screw caps indicated by the arrows in the figure below. Remove the six screws marked by the arrows in the picture below, lift up the rear cover and remove it. Note Take care of the two PCMCIA card eject buttons. The arrow pointing to the left in the picture below shows the latch which is part of the base (one place). The three other arrows indicate the place where the latches of the rear cover attach (three places). Remove the four screws marked by the arrows in the picture below, and remove the rear stand assembly. (2) SL-CPIMSx3x8x3GF Disassembly and Reassembly - 6

Hinge cover (L) and hinge cover (R) are fixed with two screws shown by the arrows in the picture below. (12) P TIGHT 2(M3x8x3GF) Tilt unit (R) and tilt unit (L) are fixed with four screws shown by the arrows in the pictures below. Stand cover (R1) and stand cover (R2) are fixed with two screws marked by the arrows in the picture below. (14) P TIGHT 2 (M3x14x3GF) Note The screws are hidden by the rubber foot 4. Removing the DC fan (cooling fan) Remove the two screws marked by the arrows in the picture below, slide the shield cover to the right, and lift it away. Disconnect the DC fan cable. Remove the two screws, and remove the DC fan. (11) SL-CPIMSx3x14x3GF Disassembly and Reassembly - 9

5. Removing the HDD Disconnect the connector of the HDD IDE cable from the motherboard. Remove one screw, as shown by the arrow in the picture below. (3) SL-CPIMSx3x6x3GF Disassembly and Reassembly - 10

Slide the HDD towards the front, and remove it. Remove the two screws marked by the arrows in the picture below, and remove the HDD from the HDD bracket assembly. (4) CBIMSx3x4x3GF Disconnect the IDE cable from the HDD. Disassembly and Reassembly - 11

6. Removing the TV Out board (G7CUS PCBA) Disconnect the connector of the TV Out cable from the motherboard. Remove the two screws indicated below, and remove the TV Out board (G7CUS PCBA). (2) SL-CPIMSx3x8x3GF Disassembly and Reassembly - 12

Remove the two screws marked by the arrows in the left picture below, and remove TV bracket (1) and TV bracket (2). (3) SL-CPIMSx3x6x3GF A- TV bracket (1) B- TV bracket (2) Disconnect the TV Out cable from the TV Out board (G7CUS PCBA). Disassembly and Reassembly - 13

7. Removing the modem board 1456VQL19Q Disconnect the modem cable from the motherboard at the location marked below. Remove the screw indicated by the arrow in the picture below. (2) SL-CPIMSx3x8x3GF Disassembly and Reassembly - 14

Lift the modem board to unplug it from the motherboard (the connector is on the right end of the modem card), and take it away. Disconnect the modem cable. Remove the two screws marked by the arrows in the picture below, and remove the modem bracket (3) SL-CPIMSx3x6x3GF Disassembly and Reassembly - 15

8. Removing the Radio Frequency (RF) receiver module Remove the tape securing the RF module antenna cable to the base (two places). Disconnect the connector of the RF module cable from the motherboard. Remove the screw indicated by the arrow in the picture below. Disassembly and Reassembly - 16

(2) SL-CPIMSx3x8x3GF Lift up the RF receiver module and put it aside as indicated with the arrow below. Disconnect the connector of the RF module antenna cable. Disassembly and Reassembly - 17

Disconnect the RF module cable. 9. Removing the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM unit Remove the four screws marked below, and remove the HDD chassis. (2) SL-CPIMSx3x8x3GF Disassembly and Reassembly - 18

Disconnect the CD IDE cable from the motherboard. The CD IDE cable is fixed with tape. Remove the two screws marked below. (2) SL-CPIMSx3x8x3GF Disassembly and Reassembly - 19

Slide the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM unit to the left, and remove it. Remove the CD IDE cable. Remove the two screws indicated below. (16) SL-CPIMSx2x6x3GF Disassembly and Reassembly - 20

Remove the CD conversion board (G7DAH PCBA). Remove the three screws marked by the arrows in the pictures below, and remove the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM unit from the CD frame. (5) PL-CPIMSx2x4x3GF Disassembly and Reassembly - 21

10. Removing the 64 MB SO-DIMM module Open the locks at both ends of the module, and remove the 64 MB SO-DIMM module. 11. Removing the CPU Disconnect the active heat sink cable from the motherboard. Disassembly and Reassembly - 22

Unlock first A, then B, as shown below, and remove the active heat sink. Raise the lever and remove the CPU. Disassembly and Reassembly - 23

12. Removing the motherboard Disconnect the sound and LED cable (A) and the volume cable (B) from the motherboard (see picture below). Disconnect the LCD cable from the motherboard. Disassembly and Reassembly - 24

Remove the two screws marked by the arrows in the picture below. (2) SL-CPIMSx3x8x3GF Slide the motherboard to the rear, and remove it. Push the tab that locks the battery to the outside, and remove CR2032 (lithium battery). Disassembly and Reassembly - 25

13. Removing the RF antenna Remove the eight screws shown in the picture below. (2) SL-CPIMSx3x8x3GF Lift up and remove the base. Disassembly and Reassembly - 26

Remove the two screws marked by the arrows in the picture below, and remove the RF antenna. (3) SL-CPIMSx3x6x3GF 14. Removing the sound/led board G7ELE PCBA and sound connector board G7ELD PCBA. Remove the tape securing the cable. Disassembly and Reassembly - 27

Disconnect the jack board cable from the sound connector board G7ELD PCBA (jack board). Remove the four screws shown by the arrows in the picture below. (2) SL-CPIMSx3x8x3GF Disassembly and Reassembly - 28

Disconnect the speaker cable assy (A) and the brightness control cable (B), see picture below, and remove the sound/led board G7ELE PCBA. Disconnect the sound and LED cable (A) and the jack board cable (B), see picture below: Disassembly and Reassembly - 29

Remove the two screws shown in the picture below, and remove sound connector board G7ELD PCBA (jack board). (3) SL-CPIMSx3x6x3GF 15. Removing the brightness control board G7DAJ PCBA Remove the two screws marked by the arrows in the picture below, and remove the brightness control board G7DAJ PCBA. Disconnect the brightness control cable. 16. Removing the aluminium speaker panel Remove the tape securing the speakers cable (two places). Disassembly and Reassembly - 31

Remove the four screws indicated by the arrows in the picture below, and remove the speakers cable assy. (15) SL-CPIMSx2.6x8x3GF Remove the four screws marked by the arrows in the picture below, and remove the front stand assembly. (2) SL-CPIMSx3x8x3GF Disassembly and Reassembly - 32

Remove the screw marked by the arrow in the picture below, and remove the aluminium speakers panel. (the aluminium speakers panel is held by two plastic pins and two plastic tabs.) (2) SL-CPIMSx3x8x3GF 17. Removing the LCD panel Remove the four screws marked by the arrows in the picture below. (6) PL-CPIMSx3x8x3GF Disassembly and Reassembly - 33

Lift up the LCD panel and remove it. Remove the four screws indicated by the arrows in the picture below. (2) SL-CPIMSx3x8x3GF Remove the LCD bracket (NEC-L) (A) and the LCD bracket (NEC-R) (B). Disassembly and Reassembly - 34

Remove the tape securing the LCD cable and the volume cable as shown below. Disconnect the LCD cable (A) and the volume cable (B). Disconnect the connectors at both ends of the inverter board 141PW201. Disassembly and Reassembly - 35

Remove the screw marked by the arrow in the left picture below. (7) NEC Inverter Fixed screw Slide the inverter board 141PW201 as indicated with the arrow below, and remove it. Free the two clips securing the cables. Disassembly and Reassembly - 36

Remove the backlight 150LHS11, unlocking, then pulling both locks as shown below. 18. Removing the aluminium panel Remove the four hex screws marked by the arrows in the picture below, and remove the front panel silk. (10) HEX SCREW Disassembly and Reassembly - 37

Remove the front sheet from the front cover. Disengage the three bottom locks, and remove the aluminium panel. Note The aluminium panel is fixed by double-sided tape. Reassembly Instructions Reassembly is the reverse of the disassembly process. Use care to ensure that all cables and screws are returned to their proper positions. Disassembly and Reassembly - 38
