Transcription:

Use the Extron control panel on the top of the podium to: 1. Turn the projector on and off. The projector takes some time to warm up after powering on, and to cool down after powering off. To show or hide the screen quickly, use Mute. 2. Select the source you d like to view. PC is for the podium computer. Laptop or HDMI are for connecting your own device using the provided cables. VCR or DVD are for using the video players in the equipment rack. Your source options vary depending on which room you re in.. Adjust volume for any source. 4. Newer rooms have an Auto Image option. If you can t see the whole screen or it looks off, try pressing this button. 1 4 2 1 2

1 Open the front door of the podium to find the equipment available in your classroom. This is where you will load any media you have: 1. Use the computer to load CDs, DVDs, or USB flash drives. 2. Some rooms have standalone video players VCR, DVD, and/or Blu-Ray. 2 You can also troubleshoot many problems at a glance by making sure everything looks powered on. Here are three common problems you can quickly fix: - The computer is off. - The sound amplifier is off or the volume is all the way down. - The Master Power switch is turned off.

6 In rooms with touch panel controls, you still load your media in the equipment rack and use the mouse and keyboard to control the podium PC. The touch panel is where you turn the projector on and choose what to view. The touch panels vary depending on the room, but generally you ll find the following options available from the Main Menu: 1 2 4 5 1. View a Video Source Select this if you re using the DVD/VHS player. 2. View Computer Source Select this if you re using the podium computer or connecting your own device.. Environment Controls From here you can turn the projector on/off or adjust lighting and shades. 4. Program Volume Adjusts sound from whatever source you re viewing. 5. Speech Volume Adjust volume for the podium microphone. 6. EXIT Turns off the projector and raises the screen.

Once you choose a selection from the Main Menu, you will see that selection s submenu. - You may still need to pick between options such as Laptop or Podium PC. - Touch the small image in the center to enter full-screen mode. - If you re using the video player, you can use the on-screen controls to stop, play, etc. - Use the Return or Main Menu buttons to go back.

A few more tips: - Press firmly the touch panel screen is not as sensitive as a smartphone or other touch devices you may be used to. - The projector should turn on automatically when you choose a source. If the room has multiple projectors or monitors, you may have to also press the button for the projector you want to use. - If the screen is blank, just touch it to bring it out of standby mode. - Remember to turn the projector off after class. Just press EXIT from the Main Menu and confirm YES that you d like to exit the system.

If you ve selected the Podium PC as your source, you should see a login screen. If not, make sure the computer is on, or try pressing the keyboard spacebar in case it is in sleep mode. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and use the login credentials printed on the top of the monitor to log in. If someone has already logged in with an account other than the generic one, click Switch User and proceed.

If you prefer bringing your own laptop, ipad, or other device, use the cables on top of the podium to connect: 1. All rooms have a VGA cable available. Many laptops already have a VGA output built in. If your device has a different type of output, you need an adapter to connect. Select the Laptop button on the podium to use this cable. 2. Rooms that have been recently upgraded have an HDMI cable as well as VGA. Be sure to select HDMI for this cable instead of the Laptop button.. If you are playing any sound, plug the audio cable into the headphone jack to connect to the room speakers. 4. You may also want to use a wired internet connection using the provided Ethernet cable. (All rooms should also have Wi-Fi available.) 1 4 2 1

Many of the larger classrooms have a built in podium microphone. 1. Press the gray button to turn the mic on or off. 2. If the room is controlled by touch screen, use the Speech Volume buttons to adjust audio level or mute.. Otherwise, the volume can be adjusted from Input 2 on the amplifier, located at the bottom of the equipment rack. 1 2
