General Laboratory 2015.01 New Look This guide will introduce you to the changes coming with 2015.01 in General Laboratory. Introduction The primary goals of the new look is to improve the aesthetics of the solutions, create a consistent experience across Cerner applications, and to improve usability of the applications. Common New Look Changes: Application icons have been standardized across Cerner so that the App Bar is consistent with our new branding. PathNet refreshed the icons throughout the applications, including the toolbars, to create a consistent look and feel across applications and simplify recognition of the icons. Required fields on a screen are highlighted yellow and marked with a red asterisk (*). When the requirement is fulfilled, the highlighting will change back to white. Search button icons have been updated to a magnifying glass across solutions Zebra striping has been added to tables to help users consume large amounts of data. A blue demographics display banner has been added across applications. Filter bars were added to some applications to remove need to go to another screen to change selection criteria. Mode bars were added to some applications to make alternate application modes more obvious and accessible to new users. A splitter bar visual has been introduced in many screens below the transfusion requirements, antibodies, and comments boxes for enlarging those boxes. Spreadsheets, Lists and Tables now either show the data within face up or save user preference for the column size. Page 1 of 24

Accession Result Entry: Title in Franklin Gothic Demi 18pt Priority, Performing location and Hierarchy are now displayed below the Results spreadsheet. An Alerts section that displays the Comments and Image icons has been moved to the filter bar above the spreadsheet in all modes but Differential. The Prevent Autoverification and Select Accession boxes were merged. In the Result Document Imaging box and Add/ Modify Images box New, Modify, OK, and Cancel buttons respectively, were moved to the bottom right of the screen. In the Autoverification Status box the Show/ Hide Details button now has been replaced with a Show Details checkbox. Page 4 of 24

On the Main Screen the controls Retrieve, Filters, Labels and Label Printers that were previously stacked vertically have been relocated o Retrieve and Filters are made available within the filter bar after any initial input within the tabs. GLB Title Batch in Franklin Result Gothic Entry: Demi 18pt Mode options that were previously displayed in the Select window are now located on the Worklist View mode bar on the main screen. Upon selection of the mode the corresponding Select box will open. In addition, user preferences for saving the mode last selected by the user are maintained so the next time the application is opened the appropriate mode is selected by default. Page 10 of 24

Checking the box activates the accession mode and unchecking it activates the test site mode. The Instrument results only checkbox has been moved within the Select By grouper. Refresh button was replaced with a refresh icon located in the Navigation box. A click has been reduced in making selection to worklist, previously the user had to either click spacebar or arrow key.
