It was designed for maintenance free output of production and operation data. The recorder can be used in: OEM applications Together with PLCs In laboratory applications 19" rack systems Quality control systems (e. g. ISO 9000) For static process control, SPC Mobile data recording systems Its compact construction and different models guarantee easy integration in existing systems. Features at a glance Compact: Internal paper cassette with paper reserve and paper end detection. Reliable: Maintenance free print mechanism. Versatile: Compatible with an IBM graphic printer. High resolution: Excellent printout (8 dots/mm resolution). Safe: No ink ribbon or cartridge changes necessary. Flexible: Serial and parallel interfaces. Adaptable: Various models/front panels. Selectable: Roll or Z fold paper. Sharp: Tear off edge. Simple: Easy operation. No more compromises: An end to office type printers in rough industrial environments. Operating principle/ Interfaces Dimensions/installation Printing principle The Uni-Bit was developed for the high requirements set by industrial and laboratory applications. The print system used is the well proven linear array thermal print technology: the characters are "burnt" onto the thermo sensitive layer on the paper. Compared to traditional matrix printers this unit operates with a motionless print head, and because only the paper moves, this guarantees the highest reliability and life span. Wear and tear on a print head is now a thing of the past. Software compatibility The compatibility to an IBM graphic printer guarantees the freedom that is not usually available to small printer units: system communication previously only available on office printers. The printer can be set to operate in either data (line for line) or text mode. In short, matching the printer to the system could not be easier. Cassette system Whether you require chart roll or Z fold paper the Uni-Bit has the right cassette for you. The simple handling and reliability of this cassette system have already been proven in a large number of applications. Its application in industrial recorders requires fault free continuous operation: 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Serial interface The serial RS 232, RS 422 or RS 485 for distant transmitters, the parallel Centronics for fast data transmissions. Even integration into OEM systems has been taken care of: the INTEL bus connects the CPU directly to the printer. A number of units can be networked using the RS 422 and RS 485 interfaces.
