General Information & Safety Instructions Battery Care To get the best out of the battery, fully charge and use until flat for the first 5-6 times. Then use until flat and fully charge at least once a month. Prolonged storage without charge may cause damage to the battery and result in poor to no charge. It is recommended you fully charge the battery every 6 months for long term storage to keep the battery in good condition. This device is powered by a 2600mAh lithium battery. Do not dispose of batteries in your household waste. Please contact your local authority for details on safe disposal. Never throw batteries into a fire or expose to excessive heat sources. If batteries are swallowed, please seek immediate medical attention. Always ensure correct +/- battery polarity when installing batteries. Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Equipment, which is marked with the WEEE logo (as shown on the left), should not be thrown away with your household waste. Contact your local authority waste disposal department, as they will be able to provide details of the recycling options available in your area. Charging Before using the camera please make sure it is fully charged. Connect the supplied charge cable to the micro USB port and a suitable power supply between 3.7V/500mAh and 5V/1A maximum. A PC or Laptop USB port is preferable. When the camera is charging a red LED will light up and then go out once fully charged. This will take approximately 4.5 hours. Power levels are determined via beeps when the camera is turned on (see page 7). Always check the output of the USB mains adaptor before charging this device. 5
Mounting The Camera Standard Seat Pole Fitting To mount the camera to a standard seat pole, thread the velcro strap through the mounting loop. Place the camera in to the preferred position on the seat pole, thread the strap through the loop and secure firmly with the velco. If the camera angle is not level then try using the other wedge either on it s own or in conjunction with the fitted wedge. Standard Seat Pole Aero Seat Pole Wedge Wedge Aeroseat Adaptor Aeroseat Pole Fitting To mount the camera to an aeroseat pole, thread the velcro strap through the mounting loop. Place the aeroseat adaptor to the preferred position on the seat pole, place the camera against the aeroseat adaptor. Thread the strap through the loop and secure firmly with the velco. If the camera angle is not level then try using the other wedge either on it s own or in conjunction with the fitted wedge. 6
Turning On/Off Turning The Camera On Press and hold the button for 3 seconds until you hear a beep(s). This will turn the camera on and start it recording as well as the light depending on the last setting used. The beeps heard will indicate the current power level of the battery. Turning The Camera Off Press and hold the button for 3 seconds until you hear a beep(s). This will stop the recording and turn the camera and light off. The beeps heard will indicate the power level left in the camera. Beep Alerts Beep indicator 4 Beeps 3 Beeps 2 Beeps 1 Beep Power Indicator 75% + 50% + 25% + 5% + 3 Long Beeps Under 5% Please Note: When the camera s power reaches below 5% the camera function is disabled in favour of the rear light. The light will last approximately 1.5 hours at this point. LED Flashing If the LEDs round the lens are flashing the camera is not recording. Make sure the micro SD card is inserted and/or turn on and off the camera. LED Chasing If the LEDs are moving round the len the camera is recording. 7
Micro SD Card Installing The Card To install a micro SD card, lift up the dust cover to reveal the micro USB port and the micro SD card slot. Insert the card contact side first with the contacts facing the light. Push the card down to just below the edge of the port until it clicks and lock into position. Removing The Card To remove the micro SD card, press the card down into the slot until it clicks and release. The card will spring up so you can remove it. Repairing The Card If in the event the card becomes corrupts or doesnt play/record please format the card directly with a PC/Laptop. This can be done with the use of a Micro SD Adaptor (Not supplied). When formatting the card, always format the card in FAT32. Recordings Access Video Files There are two ways to access the files recorded on the micro SD card. Connect the micro USB cable to the port on the camera and the other end to a PC/Laptop. Once connected you can access the files in the DCIMA folder through your systems directory. Put the micro SD card in an adaptor and plug the adaptor into a card reader. Once connected you can access the files in the DCIMA folder through your systems directory. You can drag and drop files off the card to your PC/Laptop if you want to transfer and save them. Playback To play the file back access the file on the micro SD card as mentioned above and double click on the file you want to play. The files are in.avi format so your player will need to have the correct codec in order to play the file. Windows Media Player and VLC Player will have this codec installed already. Please Note: The supplied 8GB micro SD card will record approximately 2 hours. 9
Setting Date/Time Setting The Date And Time Windows OS system only: You can set the date and time for the camera via a txt file in the root directory of the micro SD card. These files will automatically be transferred when the card is inserted, including brief instructions. Open the mirco SD card directory. Open the file CONFIG. Modify 0 to 1. Modify YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS to the correct date and time. Save file. Turn off and then on the camera or insert the micro SD card and turn on the camera. Rear Light Light Modes There are 3 light modes. Press the button to change between: Constant Strobe 1 Strobe 2 Dim Modes There are 4 dim modes. Press the button to change between: Low Medium High Off 10
Reset Resetting The Camera Under the dust cover there is a reset pin hole. When the camera is on, insert a paperclip to depress and hold the reset button for 10 seconds and release. This will reset the camera. Warranty Certificate Warranty This product is warranted to be free from defects in workmanship and parts for a period of 36 months from the date of purchase. Defects that occur within this warranty period, under normal use and care, will be repaired, replaced or refunded at our discretion, solely at our option with no charge for parts and labour. The benefits covered by this warranty are in addition to all rights and remedies in respect of the product the consumer has under existing U.K. laws. Proof of Purchase This warranty is valid for the original purchase and is not transferable. Please keep your purchase receipt as proof of purchase and as proof of the date of when the purchase was made as this is the start date of this warranty. The receipt must be presented with the warranty card when making a claim under this warranty. Service during the Warranty Period Please ensure the product is properly packaged so as to ensure that no damage occurs in transit. Also make sure that you have included a detailed explanation of the problem. Extent of the Warranty This warranty is limited to defects in workmanship or parts. All defective products or parts will be repaired or replaced. This warranty does not extend to accessories. Normal Wear and Tear This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear of the product or parts.
