Preface Energy management is the key to saving energy in your organization. Much of the importance of energy saving stems from the global need to save energy - this global need affects energy prices, emissions targets, and legislation, all of which lead to several compelling reasons why you should save energy at your organization specifically. The LASSO Energy Solutions are focused in monitoring - in real time - the KwH, store this data, and generate reports and trends for comparative purposes. Example Architecture 3

MSCT The MSCT: Split Core Current Transformers (ma Output) are easy to install, ideal for energy mangement applications, as well as accurate metering using Elkor's Power Metering devices. Unlike the standard 5A CTs, the MSCT Current Transformers do not produce high voltage surge when opened. They generate a low energy ma output and no special protection and/or shorting blocks are required. Maximum open secondary voltage is clamped at about 22 V peak. Ideal for use with Elkor Technologies Inc. Power Meters: WattsOn Power Transducer WattsOn-Mark II Advanced Energy Meter Current Transformers for the i-spy AC Current Transducer. Current Transformers for the i-snail-x AC Current Transducer. Secondary current transformers applied on 5 A leads of the existing CTs The full datasheet and specs for the MSCT Split Core Current Transformers can be downloaded from here. 8

i-snail-s The i-snail-s: Self Powered GO/NO-GO Current Status Switch switch provides an accurate and cost effective method of monitoring the on/off status of electric loads including fans, pumps, motors, heaters and virtually any AC powered device. The digital (on/off) output provides a N.O. dry contact closure which may be interfaced to PLCs, DDC panels, or control relays. The i-snail-s serves as an ultra sensitive Go/No-Go load sensor. The dry contact relay (N.O.) closes when a minimum amount (150mA) of AC current is flowing through its monitored line. The device is ideal for monitoring the running state of fans, motors, pumps, heaters or any device that is AC powered, including large and small loads. The output is a bi-directional solid state relay with a low turn on resistance of less than 4 ohms. The output may be interfaced to PLCs, DDC panels or other relays. The advanced hysteresis and transient detection circuitry prevent chattering and false switching due to line spikes and transients. The i-snail-s features a rugged enclosure with integrated barrier strip terminal block or 6" leads for easy wiring in the field. The full datasheet and specs for the i-snail-s: Self Powered GO/NO-GO Current Status Switch can be downloaded from here. 11
i-snail-s Low turn on (less than 0.150 A) Features & Specifications Hysteresis and anti-transient circuitry eliminates chatter and false switching Easy Wiring Rugged enclosure Low Cost The i-snail-s features advanced detection circuitry which enables an ideal switch characteristic. The output is turned on with a brick wall switching curve. Competitive products feature a gradual turn on with the resistance dropping gradually. In many applications, non-ideal switching may cause erroneous results. 12
i-snail-a The i-snail-a: 4-20mA Loop Powered Current Transducer is a precision current transducer that performs true RMS current measurements in one AC circuit wired through an interfacing CT mounted on the top of the enclosure. The i-snail-a may be ordered for various current ranges. The 0-5A and 0-10A current ranges feature a precision CT providing 0.3% accuracy (full scale). Other standard ranges include 25A, 50A and 100A. The i- Snail-A may be calibrated for other input ranges upon request. The 5A calibrated i-snail-a can be applied to the secondary wire of a 5A CT thus extending the metering range as required. The i-snail-a transducer offers inexpensive yet accurate true RMS monitoring of AC current in one circuit. This product is ideal as a precision AC load transducer for Control and Energy Management applications. Combined with a standard 5A CT the loop powered i-snail-a provides a convenient tool for accurate load monitoring in any electrical equipment. The full datasheet and specs for the i-snail-a: 4-20mA Loop Powered Current Transducer can be downloaded from here. 13
i-snail-a Features & Specifications Highly accurate, true RMS measurement. Compatible with SCRs and VFDs Self powered from the 4-20 ma loop. Robust construction, compact size and easy wiring. Ideal for Control and Energy Management applications. 14
i-snail-v The i-snail-v: Current Transducer with 0-5VDC Output is a simple self powered AC current transducer that provides a 0-5V analog signal proportional to the AC current flowing through the CT. Available in three ranges, the i-snail-v is calibrated to AC sine wave. There is no need for input current configuration nor trimming, saving time and confusion in the field. The transducer is enclosed in a fire retardant ABS box and encased in potting epoxy to withstand moisture, dust and vibration. The integrated mounting tabs provide an easy means to install the unit on a wall or within a control panel. The i-snail-v is ideal for load monitoring without the need for an external power supply. Two signal wires are all that are needed to obtain a linear, 0 to 5 V DC output voltage that may be easily interfacing with PLCs and DDC SCADA systems. The i-snail-v offers an inexpensive means to monitor any electrical load. This product is ideal as an AC load transducer for Control and Energy Management applications. The built-in CT and self powered feature combine to make an easy to The full datasheet and specs for the i-snail-v: Current Transducer with 0-5VDC Output can be downloaded from here. 15
