1 Intrductin 1.1 Intended use This sftware is used fr cnfiguratin f measurement parameters f the input channels f the ETAS ES93x prduct. This sftware is als used fr the cnfiguratin f the ETAS ES93x utput channel behavir. The ES93x INCA Add-On can be used add-n fr INCA measurement and calibratin sftware. The ES93x Hardware Cnfiguratin Tl (standalne) can be used with the Rapid Prttyping Sftware INTECRIO, INTECRIO-RLINK, ASCET-RP r standalne. This versin supprts fllwing measurement and utput mdule: ES930 Multi-IO Mdule 1.1.1 Safety Ntice Calibratin activities influence the behavir f the ECU and the systems cntrlled by the ECU! This may result in unexpected behavir f the vehicle and thus can lead t safety critical situatins! Calibratin activities shuld be perfrmed nly by well trained persnnel! Page 4 f 9

2.3.1 Uninstall Whenever uninstalling INCA, the included INCA uninstall prgram shuld be used. This ensures that all add-ns and ther prducts installed with INCA are als uninstalled. 2.4 Supprted Hardware Prduct The sftware supprts the fllwing prduct: ES930 Multi-IO Mdule 2.4.1 ES930 Characteristics Overview The ES930 Multi-I/O Mdule is a cmpact, rugged, versatile and pwerful mdule with several input and utput channels fr rapid prttyping, testing and calibratin. The INTECRIO, INTECRIO-RP and ASCET-RP rapid prttyping sftware and the widely used INCA calibratin tl supprt all functins f the ES930 Multi-IO Mdule. All in all, the ES930 Multi-I/O Mdule features the fllwing IO Channels: 16 x Inputs 4 x Therm, K-Type, -200 C t + 1372 C 14 x Outputs 6 x Pwer Stages 8 x Analg Input, +-1/10/60 V, 10 khz, 12 Bit 4 x Digital Input, TTL, 32 Bit Cunter, 15 ns Reslutin 4 x Sensr Supply, Off, 5 V t 15 V 4 x Analg Outputs, 0 V t 10 V, 12 Bit 6 x Digital Outputs, TTL, 32 Bit Cunter, 15 ns Reslutin (each Digital Output can be cnfigured t cntrl a Pwer Stage) 6 x Half-Bridges-Switches @ max. 5 A with 6 x Current Measurement cntrlled by a Digital Output Channel 2 x user specific LEDs, cntrlled by Digital Output Channel The ES930 mdule can be integrated int an existing ETAS Ethernet Daisy Chain. Switching the ES930 mdule n and ff is directly cntrlled by the pwer prvided externally. The Wake-Up signal f the ETAS Ethernet Daisy Chain is nt supprted. The ES930 mdule des nt prpagate the Wake-Up signal t ther mdules cnnected t the ETAS Ethernet Daisy Chain. This behavir enables t cntrl the behavir f the signals f the utput channels in a secure and easy manner. Page 6 f 9

Limited data transfer fr MC applicatins If the ES930.1 mdule is perated at high rates fr MC applicatins, it is pssible that the PC can n lnger prcess the data transferred by ES930.1 and discards data. The Flw Cntrl functin can be used t prevent these data lsses (packet lsses) between ES930.1 and PC. The Flw Cntrl functin is supprted by the ES930.1 mdule frm HSP V9.7.0. If data lsses shuld ccur between ES930.1 and PC, the user in INCA receives a message after the measurement is cmplete. Update timestamp rdering Intrductin f utput signal supprt in the ETAS Ethernet Daisy Chain. Intrductin f event rasters related t ne ES930 mdule. Extended use f the "Operatin Parameters" t cnfigure the initial values f the utput signals. Hyperthreading may negatively affect the perfrmance and shuld be deactivated fr this applicatin. 3.2.2 Anti-virus tls T ensure the highest data security fr data in the INCA database, the database is saved after every data change r access. This leads t a high amunt f read/write cycles and this initiates the scan engine f the virus scan tls t check the differences if the ptin 'scan all files' is set. This leads t a delay wrking with INCA. We recmmend excluding all files f the INCA database frm scanning. Page 7 f 9
4 Hints 4.1 Different Use Cases, Hardware Setups and System Perfrmance Please cnsider fr the different use cases rapid prttyping with INTECRIO, INTECRIO- RLINK, ASCET-RP and ES910/ES930 r measurement and calibratin with INCA the different hardware setups as well as the related perfrmance characteristics. The ES930 user's guide prvides the necessary infrmatin. 4.2 Pwer-On and Measurement Start Behavir f HW device Starting the measurement - shrtly after bting the devices - might lead t implausible time stamp values in INCA at the beginning. Especially when running cnfiguratins cntaining extremely lw crner frequency settings f the digital filters, enugh time shuld be allwed befre starting the measurement n the PC. 4.3 ES930 Online Visualizatin The Cnfiguratin Tl ffers the functinality Online Visualizatin. During Online Visualizatin the acquisitin rate fr the ES930 input signals is set t a fix rate f 200 ms. The setting visible in the ES93x Cnfiguratin Tl will be ignred. During Online Visualizatin all utput values are updated with a fixed rate f 200 ms fr the ES930 utput channels. 4.4 Netwrk Perfrmance INCA cntinuusly mnitrs the perfrmance f the Ethernet adapter in use. In case f insufficient perfrmance that might lead t missing measurement data, a message windw appears after measurement is stpped. In large setups with an verall sampling rate f > 40k Samples/s, use f PCMCIA Ethernet adapters is NOT recmmended. T achieve high data thrughput, use f PC-Card, CardBus r ExpressCard Ethernet adapters instead f PCMCIA Ethernet adapters is highly recmmended. Using Ethernet adapters cmpliant t the NDIS5 standard n multicre-pcs might cause timestamp issues spradically. We recmmend the exclusive use f Ethernet adapters accrding t the current NDIS6 standard. 4.5 Rapid Prttyping Ethernet Perfrmance In the rapid prttyping use case with ES910/ES930 verlad situatins n the Ethernet cnnectin between ES910 and ES930 may ccur. In permanent verlad cnstellatin measurement data might get lst - as usual in the RP use case. In verlad cnstellatins, it is ensured by the system, that utput data can be still cntrlled by the RP mdel, running in the ES910. The ES910 bserved cntinuusly the Ethernet lad. Page 8 f 9
