The PAC-U/U/U3 integrate EMI/RFI filter components and C, as recommended by the specification. Because these are upstream devices, they are terminated with a single.kω pull-up resistor to (R). There are three options for the value of the series resistor : For PAC-U, =Ω For PAC-U, =33Ω For PAC-U3, =Ω This series resistance plus the driver output resistance must be close to the cable s characteristic impedance of 4Ω (90Ω balanced) to minimize transmission line reflections. In addition, these parts provide a very high level of protection for sensitive electronic components that may be subjected to electrostatic discharge (ESD). The input and output pins are designed and characterized to dissipate ESD strikes of ±k safely, a level well beyond the maximum requirements of the IEC 000-4- international standard. Using the MIL-ST883D (Method 30) specification for Human Body Model (HBM) ESD, all pins are protected for contact discharges to greater than ±30k. The PAC-U/U/U3 is housed in either a -pin SC70 or -pin SOT3 package and is available with optional lead-free finishing. Application Information The PAC-U/U/U3 is targeted for upstream ports (peripherals). It provides series termination, EMI filtering, and ESD protection for the two data lines and. The Specification revision. provides for two data rates: The Full Speed signaling bit rate at Mbits per second, and The Low Speed signaling bit rate at. Mbits per second. The speed is selected by connecting one of the data lines ( or ) to a 3.3 supply voltage via a.kω pull-up resistor (R). Connections for Full Speed Operation Full Speed devices have the pull-up resistor (R) connected to the data line, as shown in Figure. Pin is tied to the line of the controller.
