HD-MD-300-C-E/HD-MD-400-C-E: HD Scaling Aut-Switchers and Extenders Intrductin The Crestrn HD-MD-300-C-E and HD-MD-400-C-E are high-definitin digital AV switchers, scalers, and extenders that are cmprised f a transmitter and a receiver. The HD-MD-300-C-E transmitter includes ne HDMI input, ne VGA input, and ne analg audi input. The HD-MD-400-C-E transmitter includes tw HDMI inputs, ne VGA input, and ne analg audi input. The HD-MD-300-C-E and HD-MD-400-C-E receiver includes ne HDMI input, ne HDMI utput, and ne analg audi utput as well as ne IR prt and ne COM prt. The HD-MD-300-C-E and HD-MD-400-C-E, hereinafter referred t as HD-MD switchers, prvide a web interface, which allws simplified cnfiguratin. Advanced functinality is enabled thrugh integratin with a Crestrn cntrl system. This guide prvides infrmatin abut cnfiguratin f the HD-MD switchers using the web interface. Fr installatin infrmatin, refer t the HD-MD-300-C-E DO Guide (Dc. 7983) r the HD-MD-400-C-E DO Guide (Dc. 7836). Web Interface Overview The web interface f the HD-MD switchers cnsists f built-in web pages that allw cnfiguratin f ruting, input, utput, netwrk, and device settings. In additin, infrmatin abut the HD-MD switchers as well as the cnnected display can be viewed. NOTE: Unless therwise indicated in this manual, the web pages f the HD-MD switchers are the same. Accessing the Web Interface T access the web interface f an HD-MD switcher, d the fllwing: 1. Find the IP address f the HD-MD switcher by pressing the SETUP buttn n the receiver and nte the IP address n the cnnected display. The IP address is displayed fr 10 secnds. NOTE: Cnfiguratin f an HD-MD switcher is hsted by the receiver; hwever, pressing the SETUP buttn n the transmitter als displays the IP address. 2. Open a web brwser. 3. G t the IP address f the HD-MD switcher. The Lgin page pens. Lgin Page 4. Enter the username and passwrd. The default username is admin, and the default passwrd is admin. NOTE: The username and passwrd are case sensitive. NOTE: Fr enhanced security, it is recmmended that the default username and passwrd be changed. Fr infrmatin abut changing the username and passwrd, refer t "Changing the Username and Passwrd" n page 20. 5. Click Submit. The Status page pens. Navigating the Web Interface The web interface f the HD-MD switchers prvides a navigatin bar and built-in web pages f the HD-MD switchers. Web Interface (Sample HD-MD-400-C-E Status Page Shwn) The navigatin bar prvides access t the web pages as fllws: Clicking STATUS accesses the Status page, which prvides general infrmatin abut the HD-MD switcher as well as netwrk-related infrmatin. Fr mre infrmatin, refer t "Viewing Status Infrmatin" n the fllwing page. Clicking ROUTING accesses the Ruting page, which allws an input t be selected and ruted t the HDMI utput n the receiver. Fr mre infrmatin, refer t "Ruting an Input t the HDMI Output" n page 5. Clicking INPUTS accesses the Input page, which allws the desired EDID t be sent t the inputs. Fr mre infrmatin, refer t "Cnfiguring Input Settings" n page 7. Clicking OUTPUT accesses the HDMI Output page, which allws the utput reslutin t be set. In additin, the utput can be enabled r disabled. Fr mre infrmatin, refer t "Cnfiguring Output Settings" n page 10. Clicking NETWORK accesses the Netwrk page, which allws netwrk settings such as hstname and DHCP (Dynamic Hst Cnfiguratin Prtcl) mde t be set. Status and Cnfiguratin The web interface f the HD-MD switchers displays status infrmatin and allws cnfiguratin f the fllwing: Ruting settings Input settings Output settings Netwrk settings Device settings Viewing Status Infrmatin General infrmatin, such as mdel name, serial number, and firmware versin f an HD-MD switcher, can be viewed. The current netwrk settings, such as hstname and IP address, can als be viewed. T view status infrmatin, d the fllwing: In the navigatin bar, click STATUS. The Status page pens. The Status page displays the fllwing infrmatin abut an HD-MD switcher: General infrmatin, which cnsists f the fllwing: Mdel, which is HD-RX-201-C-E NOTE: HD-RX-201-C-E is the name assigned t the receiver f the HD-MD switcher. Serial Number Firmware Versin Upstream device infrmatin, which cnsists f the fllwing: NOTE: The Upstream Device sectin appears n the Status page nly when the TO RX prt n the transmitter is cnnected t the FROM TX prt n the receiver. Mdel, which is HD-TX-201-C-2G-E r HD-TX-301-C-E NOTE: HD-TX-201-C-2G-E is the name assigned t the HD-MD-300-C-E transmitter. HD-TX-301-C-E is the name assigned t the HD-MD-400-C-E transmitter. Serial Number Firmware Versin Netwrk-related infrmatin, which cnsists f the fllwing: Hstname NOTE: The default hstname is HDRX201-xxxxxx, where xxxxxx represents the last six characters (excluding punctuatin) f the MAC address f the HD-MD switcher. IP Address Subnet Mask Default Gateway MAC Address Ruting an Input t the HDMI Output The HDMI input n the receiver (lcal input) r any input n the transmitter (remte input) can be autmatically r manually ruted t the HDMI utput n the receiver. T rute the desired input t the HDMI utput n the receiver, d the fllwing: 1. In the navigatin bar, click ROUTING. The Ruting page pens. Ruting Page f HD-MD-300-C-E Ruting Page f HD-MD-400-C-E As shwn abve, the Ruting page f the HD-MD switchers cntain an Output sectin in the upper-right crner f the page, an ptin t enable r disable autmatic ruting (Aut Rute), a Lcal Inputs sectin, and a Remte Transmitter (HD-TX-201-C-2G-E r HD-TX-301-C-E) sectin. NOTE: The Remte Transmitter (HD-TX-201-C-2G-E) sectin fr the HD-MD-300-C-E and the Remte Transmitter (HD-TX-301-C-E) sectin fr the HD-MD-400-C-E appear n the Ruting page nly when the TO RX prt n the transmitter is cnnected t the FROM TX prt n the receiver. The default name f the HDMI utput n the receiver is OUTPUT. The default name f the lcal HDMI input n the receiver is INPUT1. 2. Enable r disable autmatic ruting f the lcal and remte inputs by clicking the apprpriate Aut Rute radi buttn: T enable autmatic ruting, click the TRUE radi buttn (default setting). T disable autmatic ruting, click the FALSE radi buttn. 3. In the text entry bxes f the Output, Lcal Inputs, and Remte Transmitter (HD-TX-201-C-2G-E r HD-TX-301-C-E) sectins, rename the utput and inputs if desired, and then click Save Name. NOTE: The Output sectin displays the reslutin and frame rate being transmitted t the utput. 4. T manually rute a lcal r remte input t the utput, select the crrespnding input radi buttn. The input is ruted t the utput. T manually discnnect the rute f a lcal r remte input, click the <clear Rute> radi buttn in the Lcal Inputs sectin f the page. Cnfiguring Input Settings The web interface allws the desired EDID t be selected and sent t the inputs. Three built-in EDID files are available fr selectin, and a custm EDID file can als be selected. The EDID can be selected n a glbal basis and sent t all inputs, r it can be selected n an individual basis fr each input. In additin, inputs can be renamed. HDCP supprt can als be enabled r disabled fr each input n an individual basis. The ruting pririty level f inputs can als be set. Fr the HD-MD-400-C-E nly, TT-100 supprt can als be cnfigured. T cnfigure inputs, d the fllwing: 1. In the navigatin bar, click INPUTS. The Inputs page pens. Inputs Page f HD-MD-400-C-E 2. (Optinal) In the Glbal EDID sectin f the page, lad a custm EDID file by ding the fllwing: a. Click Brwse lcated t the right f the Lad CEDID file field. Windws Explrer pens. b. Navigate t the desired EDID file (*.cedid), select the file, and then click Open. The selected EDID file appears in the Lad CEDID file field. c. Click Lad. A prmpt appears asking fr cnfirmatin that the EDID file be upladed t the input device. d. Click OK. The fllwing ccur: In the Glbal EDID sectin f the page, the custm EDID filename is added t the Send EDID t All inputs drp-dwn list. In the Lcal Inputs and Remte Transmitter (HD-TX-201-C-2G-E r HD-TX-301-C-E) sectins f the page, the custm EDID filename is added t the EDID drp-dwn lists. NOTE: Only custm EDID files can be deleted. Built-in EDID files cannt be deleted. T delete a custm EDID file, click Delete in the Glbal EDID sectin f the page. The custm EDID file is deleted frm the Send EDID t All inputs drpdwn list and als frm each individual EDID drp-dwn list in the Lcal Inputs and Remte Transmitter (HD-TX-201-C-2G-E r HD-TX-301-C-E) sectins f the page. NOTE: When a custm EDID file is deleted, the EDID reverts t the default EDID fr any input that was laded with the custm EDID. The default EDID fr an HDMI input is DM Default EDID. 3. Cnfigure the inputs as fllws: a. (Optinal) In the Glbal EDID sectin f the page, glbally apply the same EDID t all inputs simultaneusly by ding the fllwing: i. In the Send EDID t All inputs drp-dwn list, select the desired built-in EDID file r a custm EDID file. The built-in EDID files are as fllws: ii. 1 DM Default EDID 16 DM Default VGA EDID Output NOTE: Selecting Output cpies the EDID frm the utput t all f the inputs. Click Apply t All. The selected EDID is autmatically sent t all inputs and appears in the EDID drp-dwn list fr all inputs in the Lcal Inputs and Remte Transmitter (HD-TX-201-C-2G-E r HD-TX-301-C-E) sectins f the page. b. In the Lcal Inputs and Remte Transmitter (HD-TX-201-C-2G-E r HD-TX-301-C-E) sectins f the page, cnfigure each input as desired: NOTE: Fr each input, the Sync icn dentes whether a surce is detected at the input. If a surce is detected, the icn is green. If n surce is detected, the icn is gray. i. In the Name text bx, rename the input if desired. ii. iii. iv. If an EDID ther than the Glbal EDID is t be assigned, select the desired EDID in the EDID drp-dwn list. (Applicable nly t inputs 1 2 f the HD-MD-300-C-E and inputs 1 3 f the HD-MD-400-C-E) In the HDCP Supprt drp-dwn list, select Enabled r Disabled. The default setting is Enabled. (Applicable nly t input 3 f the HD-MD-300-C-E and input 4 f the HD-MD-400-C-E) In the Audi Only drp-dwn list, select Enabled r Disabled. When Audi Only is enabled, analg audi can be transmitted frm the VGA input withut vide (a blue frame is displayed). If Audi Only is disabled, an active VGA vide surce must be cnnected t the VGA input. The default setting is Disabled. NOTE: When Audi Only is enabled and when Aut Rute is set t TRUE n the Ruting page, autmatic switching frm the VGA input t anther input ccurs when a new surce is detected at anther input. Autmatic switching frm the VGA input t anther input will nt ccur if an active VGA vide surce is discnnected frm the VGA input. v. (Applicable nly when Aut Rute is set t TRUE n the Ruting page) In the Pririty drp-dwn list, select the pririty level fr ruting f the input. NOTE: In rder fr a pririty level t be selected, the Pririty Ruting radi buttn in the Pririty Ruting Supprt sectin f the Inputs page must be set t Enabled. vi. Pririty levels fr autmatic ruting f an input range frm Pririty 1 (highest pririty) t Pririty 3 (lwest pririty fr the HD-MD-300-C-E) r Pririty 4 (lwest pririty fr the HD-MD-400-C-E). Autmatic ruting f an input ccurs accrding t the ruting pririty level and the detectin f a surce at the input. Ruting f an input remains until the input is discnnected. If the input that is being ruted is discnnected, autmatic ruting switches t anther input based n the ruting pririty level and the detectin f a surce at the input. If Pririty 1 is set fr all inputs, the last cnnected input is autmatically ruted. D ne f the fllwing: Click Save t save the Name, EDID, HDCP Supprt, Audi Only, and Pririty entries fr each crrespnding input. Click Revert t revert t the previus settings withut saving the current entries. Click Save All t save all unsaved entries. c. (HD-MD-400-C-E nly) In the TT-100 Supprt sectin f the page, select the TT-100 mde t determine hw the HD-MD-400-C-E is t interpret buttn presses n the cnnected Crestrn Cnnect It cable caddy (TT-100 Series): Quick Selectin: (Default setting) The HD-MD-400-C-E switches amng the active inputs each time a buttn n a cable caddy is pressed while the buttn LED is green. The selected active input is displayed n the utput. A buttn LED is green when an active input is ruted and is blue when n inputs are cnnected t the HD-MD-400-C-E. Standard: Operates accrding t the SIMPL prgram (refer t the SIMPL Windws help file fr infrmatin) Cnfiguring Output Settings Cnfiguratin f utput settings includes the enabling r disabling f the HDMI utput, the renaming f the utput, setting the utput reslutin, and the enabling f HDCP. In additin, autmatic pwer settings and analg audi settings can be cnfigured. Infrmatin abut the cnnected display and the utput signal can als be viewed. Cnfigure utput settings n the Output page f the web interface. Output Page Cnfiguring HDMI Output Settings Cnfigure HDMI utput settings in the Output Settings sectin f the Output page. Output Page - Output Settings T cnfigure HDMI utput settings, d the fllwing: 1. Enable r disable the HDMI utput by clicking the Enable r Disable radi buttn, respectively. By default, the Enable radi buttn is selected, allwing the utput display t turn n. If the Disable radi buttn is selected, the utput display turns ff. 2. In the Name text entry bx, rename the utput if desired. The default name is OUTPUT. T save the new name, click Save Name.
