LIP Document Introduction This document describes how to install the Johnson Controls Language Installation Program (LIP), which is used to install and remove languages for Metasys servers, software applications, and supervisory engines. You can only obtain the LIP installation file from the Language Installation Program webpage on the Johnson Controls internal portal website: https://my.jci.com/sites/be/nabas/pages/metasys_system_extended_architecture/liptool.aspx From this webpage, you can also download the required product configuration file and translated language packs for all Metasys system products supported by the LIP tool. Summary of Changes No technical changes were made to the document for this release. LIP Documentation For information on how to use the LIP tool, refer to the Language Installation Program Help (LIT-12011349). LIP Concepts LIP Overview The LIP is a software tool that installs and removes a set of language resources on a Metasys platform to support multiple different languages. The tool changes the site default language for supervisory engines, Metasys servers, and Metasys software applications. For applications that support multiple languages, the LIP sets the language choices in addition to the default language. In this way, users with a different language preference can log in to the system and see the product s UI in their preferred language. The LIP tool is compatible with Release 5.2 or later. The LIP supports the following products (Table 1).
