LIP Document Introduction This document describes how to install the Johnson Controls Language Installation Program (LIP), which is used to install and remove languages for Metasys servers, software applications, and supervisory engines. You can only obtain the LIP installation file from the Language Installation Program webpage on the Johnson Controls internal portal website: https://my.jci.com/sites/be/nabas/pages/metasys_system_extended_architecture/liptool.aspx From this webpage, you can also download the required product configuration file and translated language packs for all Metasys system products supported by the LIP tool. Summary of Changes No technical changes were made to the document for this release. LIP Documentation For information on how to use the LIP tool, refer to the Language Installation Program Help (LIT-12011349). LIP Concepts LIP Overview The LIP is a software tool that installs and removes a set of language resources on a Metasys platform to support multiple different languages. The tool changes the site default language for supervisory engines, Metasys servers, and Metasys software applications. For applications that support multiple languages, the LIP sets the language choices in addition to the default language. In this way, users with a different language preference can log in to the system and see the product s UI in their preferred language. The LIP tool is compatible with Release 5.2 or later. The LIP supports the following products (Table 1). Table 1: Metasys Servers, Software Applications, and Supervisory Engines Supported by LIP Type of Supervisory Supported Product Engine or Application Metasys Server Software Application and Data Server (ADS and ADS-Lite) Extended Application and Data Server (ADX) Open Data Server (ODS) Metasys Advanced Reporting System Metasys Energy Essentials NxE85/LCS85 Site Management Portal NIE89 Site Management Portal Metasys Software Applications Advanced Graphics Application (AGA) Graphic Generation Tool (GGT) Metasys Export Utility Metasys UI System Configuration Tool (SCT) with simulation Metasys Supervisory Engines NAE35 NAE45 NAE85/LCS85 NCE25 NIE29 NIE39 NAE-Lite NIE55 NIE49 NAE55 NIE85 NIE59 2

Regional and language options in the operating system must be selected for your location.
