Before Installing any ICC profile, you must first place the following profiles, Adobe RGB (1998) and ISOcoated_v2_300_eci.icc in your operating system s standard location for profiles. Below are the locations where you copy the ISOcoated_v2_300_eci.icc. Operating System Windows 2000 & XP MAC OS X ICC File Location Windows / System32 / Spool / Drivers / Color Library / ColorSync / Profiles 2.1.2 Install Photoshop Color Setting Below are the locations where you copy the Adobe Photoshop Color Setting(.csf) Operating System Windows 2000 & XP MAC OS X Adobe Photoshop Color Setting File Location Program Files / Common Files / Adobe / Color / Settings Library / Application Support / Adobe / Color / Settings 2.1.3 Step by Step Color Setting In Photoshop 1. Go to Edit > Color Settings... Click > Load... 25
2. Locate EB_ISOcoated_v2_300_eci.csf from Library / Application support / Adobe / Color / Settings. 3. Select EB_ISOcoated_v2_300_eci.csf. Click Load. 4. Make sure the Settings has been changed to EB_ISOcoated_v2_300_eci.csf. Click OK. 26
Chapter- 2 PDF File Creation 2.1.4 Synchronise Color Settings Once the color settings have been configured in a CS2 or CS3 application, you can then use Adobe Bridge to keep all Adobe applications color setting synchronised. 1. Launch Bridge, Go to Edit > Creative Suite Color Settings... 2. Suite Color Settings window appeares, with Not Synchronized. 3. Scroll down and look for EB_ISOcoated _v2_300_eci, then click Apply. The window will automatically close. 4. Go to Edit > Creative Suite Color Settings... again to make sure the EB_ISOcoated_v2_300_eci is selected. And Synchronized. 27
2.2 Export PDF from Adobe InDesign The following steps outlines the procedure for creating PDF files using Macintosh OS 10.5 and InDesign CS3 1. install PPD (PostScript Printer Description) Drag the ApogeeX.PPD into your Macintosh HD > Library > Printers > PPDs > Contents > Resources > en.lproj folder 2. Check Color Settings: InDesign > Edit > Color Settings... 3. Make sure Color setting is set to EB_ISOcoated_v2_300_eci. If it is not synchronize please refer to 2.1.4 Synchronise Color Settings. 28
Chapter- 2 PDF File Creation 4. Set InDesign Adobe PDF Preset Settings InDesign > File > Adobe PDF Presets > Define... 5. Adobe PDF Presets window appeared. Click Load... 6. Load PDF Export Presets window appeared. Select EB-PDX1a_InDesign Export Preset. joboptions and click Open. Note: The TP-PDFX1a_InDesign Export Preset. joboption is inside the FTP, called InDesign Export PDF Preset. 29
7. The EB-PDX1a_InDesign Export Preset will appear in Adobe PDF Preset window. Click Done. 8. Export PDF File from Indesign main manual File > Export... 9. Export dialog box appear. Browse to find the folder where you wish to save the PDF file, give a file name. Click Save. 30
Chapter- 2 PDF File Creation 10. Select Adobe PDF Preset: EB-PDX1a_InDesign Export Preset Click Export 11. In Export Adobe PDF > General Set the print range as one page only. 12. In Export Adobe PDF > Compression The preset setting as right picture. 31
13. In Export Adobe PDF > Marks and Bleeds Set the bleed to 3 mm. Set the offset to 6 mm. 14. In Export Adobe PDF > Output Set the destination profile. Note: You may change the destination profile according to the paper type. Please refer to Table - Output Intent Profile. 15.
