All Core and Access switches should be 1 GB speed and Core Switches should support 10 GB interface in future. Up-link Connectivity should be Fibre Optic redundant uplinks from Core Switches to Access switches. Core switches should be redundant active-active mode, minimum 90 GB/s back-plane and support advance Layer 3 routing protocol like BGP, RIP, OSPF from day one. Firewall should be redundant mode and through-put should be minimum 10 GB. 3 years Warranty and support for switches and the entire networking project. Please attach office layout indicating the 24/48 switches proposed to be installed in every hall/location. Please attach the list of material with cost of each material (A sample list is enclosed). The existing LAN Network infrastructure in the Office consisting of about 500 users is divided into three separate networks as under. a. VLC/GPF and Accounts (265+ network points) b. Pension ( 105 network points) c. Administration ( 130 network points) These three LAN networks are isolated (logically and physically) i.e. not interconnected to each other. The current setup is partly structured and partly unstructured wired network using non manageable L2 switches of 24/16/8 port of different makes. I) Objective of the upgradation/extension of existing networking : i. Better sharing of data/resources across the network and improve the efficiency of the existing network in terms of high availability and speed and managing the network with manageable switches and VLAN. ii. Providing s secured network environment. A physically integrated secured network (but logically separate department wise) with a Unified Threat Management (UTM) for content filtering, intrusion detection, spam filter etc. iii. Ready for future interfaces between VLC/Pension/GPF Applications. iv. Provide/restrict Internet access to officer level users to enable extensive use email as mode of communication /correspondence. v. Build and provide and office Intranet to the users for file and information sharing. vi. Improve the office automation by introducing centralized applications like DAK management, Leave management, Knowledge Management System, etc. with a view to move towards a less paper environment
II) Invitation for Bids: The bidders are requested to study the existing network setup, the office topology by visiting the office premises and submit proposal for upgradation and extension of networking solution indicating: i. Detailed scope of work, changes/modifications of the existing setup, enhancements required and any compatibility issues with reference to the current working environment. ii. Proposed solution and proposed setup along with a schematic network diagram. iii. Deliverables including hardware and software, civil work, labour cost etc. and Warranty period for the hardware/software items (Sample Format Enclosed). iv. Details of Training to be provided by vendor post installation v. Period of On-site support post installation. vi. Time schedule for completion of the work including training and implementation, vii. Time-frame required for completion of the activity and financial impact, viii. Inclusion of other incidental activities / services which you may have to perform during the course of implementation, ix. Any other Major terms and conditions. III) Submission of Bids : The Bid may be prepared by taking into consideration the following i. The bidder will have to provide a power point presentation of the new proposed networking solution along with a schematic diagram indicating the benefits of the new networking solution. The presentation should highlight a. How the new network will improve overall work efficiency. b. How the new network will help in cost reduction ( saving of man hours, paper etc) c. How secured will be the new network environment d. What will be the additional load on electricity consumption ii. Warranty period will be minimum 1 year. iii. Terms of payment will be 80% on installation and commencement and 20 % after 1 month of successful run. iv. Any other condition that may be laid down during the implementation time.
