Everyone works from the Cloud. We work to maintain it. Over the last 31 years Jokake Construction has built a reputation as an occupied facility construction expert. We excel where no other contractor does when it comes to upgrading technology and equipment within operational mission critical environments, including data and operation centers. At Jokake Construction we work smart to ensure business continues as usual - for you and your customers. INSPIRE. BUILD. PARTNER. 5013 East Washington Street, Suite 100 Phoenix, Arizona 85034 Renovation New Construction

INSPIRE. BUILD. PARTNER. What does Jokake do? Jokake is a general contractor that plans, coordinates, communicates and delivers construction and facilities services in and around environments where people are directly impacted. PDU, UPS, CRAC, Suppression System, Biometric Readers. Technology infrastructure and security have their own language, but it is a language that Jokake Understands well. Working with Owners, designers and operational groups, we develop solutions for mission critical facilities while complying with all security requirements. Whether your project is simple or complicated, we speak your language. I have a personal passion for this type of challenging construction and invite you to contact me directly as you plan your next mission critical project. However risk can be mitigated by having properly secured facilities, thorough commissioning and regular maintenance activities. Even though the cost of data center down time is hard to measure, a recent study initiated by Ponemon Institute indicated that on an average, downtime can cost an alarming $5,600 per minute or $336,000 per hour! The study also indicated the following root causes for an unplanned data center outage along with the percentage of occurrence. 1. UPS System Failure (29%) 2. Accidental/ Human Error (24%) 3. Water/ Heat or Computer Room Air Conditioner Failure (15%) Mitigation activities that yeild reduced downtime include: Securing access to data center infrastructure Incorporating a remote monitoring facility Regular employee training Regular service checks for equipment Power Infrastructure Optimization Cooling Infrastructure Optimization Reprinted with permission from: http://www.lifelinedatacenters.com/datacenter/data-center-downtime/

South Mountain Community College Central Plant SMCC needed to replace all existing central plant equipment for their entire campus. All work was completed while the system remained operational. Work involved replacement of two cooling towers, three chillers, and all associated pumps and piping. Work also included new equipment designed to decrease energy consumption during cool temperature months. To accommodate the new equipment a 3,000 sf building addition was constructed.

INSPIRE. BUILD. PARTNER. The GAP s Western Region Fulfillment Center features advanced robotic material handling systems requiring half-inch tolerance on all storage system alignments. Scope included extensive new building electrical systems, generator, automatic transfer switch and new service entrance.

THE ADVANTAGE The 400,000 sf warehouse project also included major modifications to the HVAC and fire sprinkler systems to accommodate the climate control requirements of the GAP s storage needs. Structural additions were added to support the new load of 60 rooftop HVAC units, which were installed by helicopter.

Your business is important. Make sure it s secured properly. Physical security controlling personnel access to facilities is critical to achieving data center availability goals. As new technologies such as biometric identification and remote management of security data become more widely available, traditional card-and-guard security is being supplanted by security systems that can provide positive identification and tracking of human activity in and around the data center. Before investing in equipment, IT managers must carefully evaluate their specific security needs and determine the most appropriate and costeffective security measures for their facility. This white paper [by Schneider Electric] presents an overview of the principles of personnel identification and describes the basic elements and procedures used in security systems. Information technology and business are becoming inextricably interwoven. I don t think anybody can talk meaningfully about one without the talking about the other. - Bill Gates Information technology is the backbone of every business which is why Jokake s team members coordinate closely with IT teams and engineers on the fine details of our client s data center needs. It s not enough for your project to be built well; it has to meet your technology specifications by performing well. Therefore, we cross reference the construction documents with our own in-house expertise to ensure that your requirements are being met. We play close attention to the fine details like power capacity, air distribution, redundancy and security protocols to validate your technology needs are built right, the first time.
