Enraf Ltd does not assume any liability arising out of the application or use of any product described herein; neither does it convey any licence under its patent rights or the rights of others. 0.3, Safety Notice The Entis XL system has not been designed to operate as a Safety critical system. It is provided as a means of monitoring only and should not be used as a safety system. The Entis XL system must be used alongside a proven independent safety system. Although, the Entis XL system provides a number of alarms to warn of current or impending situations regarding the movement of tank levels, or the health of level devices, appropriate independent means must be provided to verify and validate the integrity of measurements and dynamic data at regular intervals. Indeed, it is recommended that in order to have a high confidence in the system the programmable alarms provided by the system are tried and tested at regular intervals along with other process critical functions. 1.0, General Guidelines The suite of application modules making up the Entis XL system are generally provided on CD. The installation process is relatively simple and straightforward following the same procedures as almost all other Windows applications. Insert the CD into the CD ROM drive. The system should normally auto start and begin running the set-up procedure. Follow the set up prompts and enter the relevant data when and where requested. When the installation is finally complete remove the CD and any other media from drives. You will normally be requested to perform a system reset before Entis XL can be used. On very complex systems, particularly large multi-user client server systems the installation process may be more complex requiring a separate installation for the database and other operating system components. Further, systems requiring remote access via Remote Access Server and/or providing a Web server will require configuration and set-up by competent engineers conversant with Windows 2000 and related technologies. 4.0 Un-installing Entis XL and Associated applications There are very few reasons why you would want to un-install the Entis XL package, however, if you do there are a few steps to follow. NOTE: before removing any components of Entis XL make sure you make a backup of your databases, if required. IMPORTANT: if you are removing Entis XL to re-install it again make sure you have the original install CD and current license diskette and software key, together with any database backups if applicable. In addition we would recommend before un-installing that you take a copy of all application executables just in case any have been replaced since the original CD was issued. Remember Entis XL can comprise several applications e.g. Entis XL, PC Link, SQL Server/MSDE etc. and each may have separate un-install procedures. Before removing any components of Entis XL make sure all applications are shutdown. Note that not all applications may be visible on the Windows toolbar. For example, some of the business components will have to be stopped using Task Manager e.g. the Movement Server, Event Handler. There may also be NT services forming part of the EntisXL application that need to be stopped as well. The un-installation procedures will only remove files that were originally installed by the installation procedure. If any other files have been added to the Entis XL directory, or any files have been modified since the original installation they will not get removed. Therefore the remaining debris will have to be removed manually after the un-installation process has completed. Copyright 2004 Enraf Ltd Page 25 of 29

4.1, Un-installing Entis XL Launch Control Panel. Launch Add/Remove Programs. The following screen will appear. You will see the Entis XL application in the applications list. Select Entis XL. The Change/Remove button will be enabled. Click Change/Remove. Copyright 2004 Enraf Ltd Page 26 of 29

The Install Shield wizard will be launched. A Warning will be displayed as follows asking you to confirm your choice. The application removal process starts as shown. Copyright 2004 Enraf Ltd Page 27 of 29

When all files have been removed the Install Shield Wizard Complete screen is displayed as follows. To complete the exercise press the Finish button then restart your PC. After the restart log on to your PC and check that Entis XL has been successfully removed. Entis XL should now be removed from the Application list in the Add/Remove programs screen as shown. Press the X on the toolbar to unload the Add/Remove programs module. Note: PC Link will automatically be uninstalled with Entis XL. Copyright 2004 Enraf Ltd Page 28 of 29

5.0, Removal of MSDE Unfortunately MSDE is not removed during the un-installation of EntisXL. It must be removed manually. MSDE comprises an NT service and an ICON in the system tray on the Windows toolbar. MSDE Service Icon See the illustration opposite. Before MSDE can be removed the service must be stopped and the ICON closed in the system tray. If you right mouse click over the ICON a popup menu will be loaded. See the illustration below. Select the Stop option to shut down the Service. The MSDE Service ICON will change from displaying a small green arrow to a red square. See the illustration opposite. Now close down the MSDE application by right mouse clicking over the ICON again and selecting the Exit option. The application is now completely shutdown. It is now possible to un-install MSDE. Launch the Add/Remove programs utility from Control Panel. Select MSDE from the list. Click the Add/Remove button. At the prompt click Yes to continue. You may be warned that there are shared files and asked to confirm that you want to remove them. If so click Yes to All and remove all shared files. When this is complete we recommend a re-start of the P.C. Copyright 2004 Enraf Ltd Page 29 of 29
