Click the link https://vdx.nationwide.com to access the VPN site in Internet Explorer. 2. Enter your username. Note: This is your short name (do not include @nationwide.com) 3. Enter your password. Note: Your initial password is Nation20. This password should be changed. See page 6 for instructions. 4. Click the Sign In button. Step 2: Register for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Multi-factor authentication is a method of access control in which a user is granted access only after presenting separate credentials to verify the user s identity. 1. Click Continue from the Protect the Network page. 2. Enter an email address that can be accessed while not connected to VDE. For example, a personal Gmail or Yahoo or other mail account. 2

This email will be used to receive codes when connecting from unknown workstations. Click Continue. 3. An email will be sent to the email address provided with a code. Open the email to retrieve the required confirmation code. 4. Click Yes. I take responsibility for this device and then Continue. Note: If your browser is configured to clear cookies and/or cache upon exit, you will be required to provide a one-time password with every login. 5. The MFA registration is complete, starting the SSL VPN software download and installation. 3

Step 3: Upgrade the Citrix Receiver Client An error will display requesting an upgrade to the Citrix Receiver Client. Click Continue when the error displays and take the following steps to upgrade. 1. Go to https://www.citrix.com/products/receiver/ 2. Click the link to download the receiver for Windows. Click Run to install. 3. When prompted, click Yes. 4

4. Click Start. 5. Check the box to accept the license agreement then Install. 6. Click Finish. 7. Return to https://www.citrix.com/products/receiver/ and try again. Step 4: Install the SSL VPN Software To install the SSL VPN software, you must be a local administrator on your workstation. Please contact your local administrator for help. 1. If a Setup Control Warning dialog displays, click Always to suppress the prompt in the future. 2. Wait for the installation to complete. 3. Wait for the UnifiedSDK.zip file to be downloaded. 4. Wait for the Secure Application Manager to be downloaded. 5

5. If you are presented with a Java security warning, check the box Always trust content from this publisher. And click Yes. 6. Click Yes from the Secure Application Manager dialog. You are now logged into SSL VPN and can reach the Nationwide resources from the Landing page. 6
