4 AJAX LAN Module - Installation and Operating Guide 1. General Information AJAX LAN module is an additional accessory for built-in installation in AVA, CA60plus, СА62, CA8x4 or any other alarm or fire system. Its purpose is to transmit the system status (via Ethernet/Internet connection) to the AJAX Server STANDARD, connected to monitoring software. The AJAX Module enables easy monitoring and transmitting of the alarm events occurring in the alarm systems to existing Monitoring stations using standard monitoring software. The communication is protected by AES 128 encryption algorithm. The AJAX LAN module transmits the system status to 4 e-mail addresses via Internet by means of e-mail messages or SMS messages (e-mail to SMS). Figure 1. AJAX LAN module functional working diagram. The LAN module communicates with AVA, CА62 control panels through serial port (UART 9600 Hz). The communication with CA60plus, CA8x4, MAG2/4/8plus is by means PGM outputs - input/output with general purpose (GPIO). In case of an alarm event the LAN module generates an information package and transmits it (AJAX Server STANDARD/email) in parallel to all of the receivers (server/users). The LAN module also follows the status of the Internet communication. If there are problems in alarm event transferring (no confirmation / ACK from AJAX Server STANDARD / either the connection is lost neither the server is failed or other) the LAN module will automatically make N retries to deliver the message, where N is a programmed number of retries. If the connection with the primary server is permanently failed the LAN module will transmit the messages to a Backup Server and will proceed to follow for the recovering of the first connection. When the primary Server becomes available again the LAN module will stop sending messages and data to the Backup Server. The LAN module also always follows the status of the AJAX Server STANDARD, as sends polling messages over pre-programmed interval. In message transferring (polling and alarm) can be used data encryption for the package protection. The algorithm is AES128 as the encryption key is 128 bits. This key could be programmed in the LAN module and in the AJAX Server STANDARD in order to decode the information properly.

To write the Event Reporting Settings click on the Download to write down the new configuration. 3.6 PGMs Configuration Window Figure 9. The PGMs Configuration Window - Example configuration Ajax LAN module has 4 general purposes programmable Input/Outputs (I/O) called PGM. Each PGM can be enabled or disabled and configured as Input or Output. Additionally a PGM can be configured to work as Report Back-up output. This option is active when AJAX LAN module is connected via serial connection to CA62 or AVA alarm panels. That

AJAX LAN Module - Installation and Operating Guide 11 means if connection with Primary and Backup AJAX Server has been lost, this PGM can be used for signaling (for example, the output can be connected to TP2000 transmitter, external buzzer for example or GSM expander module) that internet connection fails. Every PGM output can be activated/deactivated when a certain event happens. Also, if the Report Back-up option is not check but there is a serial connection with CA62 or AVA alarm panel, when the connection with Primary and Backup AJAX Server is lost, all the events coming on after that will be saved in the LOG memory file of the control panel. These events will be send when the communication with the AJAX Servers is restored. As well, in case the AJAX LAN module is activated via the PGM outputs (stand-alone) and the communication with the Primary and Backup AJAX Server has been lost, the module will save up to 32 events, which will be send in sequence (from 1 st to 32 nd ) after restoring the communication with the AJAX Server. Example: In case the network connection is failed, PGM2 will be activated form event Open (Disarming the system) of the control panel. In the example on Figure 10, PGM2, PGM3 and PGM4 are enabled - there is a check at Report Back-up box. PGM1 is configured as input and PGM2, PGM3 and PGM4 - as outputs. Figure 10. PGM1 Section - Example When a PGMx is enabled it will switch its active state in case of occurring of certain events. In the example configuration above, in case of coming Rising edge signal (+12V) at PGM1, AJAX LAN module will send event 2 (Alarm restore, SIA protocol). In this way every PGMx can be configured to be activated in case of occurring of different events. That allows easy integrating of AJAX LAN module to any control panel with PGM outputs in its configuration. When a PGMx is configured as output (see the PGM2 or PGM4 at Figure 9) its state (the level of the logical signal) can be directly switched over with single click on the PGM2 or PGM4 buttons (Figure 7). Besides messages to AJAX Server STANDARD, AJAX LAN module can also send messages for the events to the user e-mails entered in Mailing Settings section. In this case the Mails boxes (for Falling Edge and/or Raising Edge) must be checked. For example (see Figure 10) AJAX LAN module will send e-mail messages for PGM1 to Receiver Mail 1 (section Mails): 1 (BA) at low signal level (Falling Edge - 0V) and 2 - (BH) at high signal level (Rising Edge - 12V) - see the Event table on page 23. To write the PGM and Input Settings click on the Download to write down the new configuration.
