How to Access Your Account and Order Your EMC VendorSafe Background Screening Report To register a new account CLICK the REGISTER NOW button on the custom EMC landing page. You must complete the 2 Registration pages before your account is accessible. Once your account is registered you will receive an email from no-reply@backgroundchecks.com which contains your unique username and temporary password. The temporary password is valid for a limited time only; you are encouraged to log in immediately upon receiving this email notification. You can log into backgroundchecks.com by clicking on the link in the email or by visiting www.backgroundchecks.com. 1 P age

Returning users may access their account by visiting http://www.backgroundchecks.com/business.mvc and CLICKING SIGN IN NOW. First Time users will be prompted to change your temporary password immediately upon logging in. 2 P age

After creating a unique password you will be presented with our terms and conditions; please review, acknowledge and accept in order to proceed with account access. You must select your intended purpose for utilizing our service. 3 P age

The final step in accessing your account is the FCRA notice; please review and acknowledge in order to proceed with account access. 4 P age

How to Order Your EMC VendorSafe Background Screening Report After successful online account registration you will see your Package page; select the EMC Contractor Screening package and click ORDER PACKAGE to start your order. Your package begins with the Start Your Order page. This page is designed to capture all the required information on your subject for the EMC VendorSafe Background Screening Report. Once you have completed this page click CONTINUE at the bottom of the page. 5 P age

Clicking CONTINUE initiates the EMC VendorSafe Background Screening Report and starts with the Social Security Number Validation, this may take a few seconds to process. Once the SSN Validation is complete you will receive the results of this search and you may continue with the VendorSafe Background Screening Report by adding the additional information for the remaining required reports for the EMC VendorSafe Background Screening Report. Click CONTINUE at the bottom of the page to proceed to the next tab. 6 P age

After you have completed the data entry portions of the EMC VendorSafe Background Screening Report for your subject you will see your ORDER CONFIRMATION page which lists the products ordered and associated cost. After review of your EMC VendorSafe Background Screening Report you will complete the order submission process by clicking PLACE ORDER at the bottom of the ORDER CONFIRMATION page. 8 P age

Getting Started-Account Helpful Hints Your backgroundchecks.com account offers several administrative features to assist users with the background screening process. We have highlighted a few of these features for you here. My Profile The My Profile feature on your account allows the user to adjust their personal settings and view important user activity information. User Last Login: Date and Time Stamp Username *changeable Users First and Last Name *changeable Users Telephone Number *changeable Users email address *changeable Notifications-thiwhich includes; Do not send notifications. I will login and check my results online OR featuree allows the user set their preferred method on results notification Send Notifications by Fax or Email. Delivery frequency is also adjustable. Manage Users The Manage Users feature is multifaceted; we offer three distinct user access roles: Business Admin-This user role has full account access ncluding managing users, accounting, resource forms and full viewing capability of all subordinate users activity and sub-client account activity. Business User-This user role has full viewing capability of all subordinate users activity ncluding Business Admin; but they do not have access to accounting information, resource forms or sub-client account activity. Business Base-This user role has the least access of all users, this user only has visibility of the reports they have ordered. They do not have accesss to any other account features such as accounting information, resource forms or sub-client account activity. The Manage User feature also allows the Businesss Admin user to: Add users Assign user access Deactivate user access 9 Page

How to create a new user 1: Click on ACCOUNT SETTING located at top right of your account. 2: You will find a link titled Users in the My Account section located on the right hand side; click on the Add new user link. 3: Complete the required fields with new users Username, First Name, Last Name, Telephone Number and email address. 10 Page

4: Select the appropriate user role to assign access to the new user. 5: You can determinee the user s notification method or you can allow the user to customize their own. 6: Click SAVE to create the new user access. An email with the new user s username and temporary password is generated by saving the new user information. The new user must log in and change their temporary password to a unique password within 48 hours. 11 Page

How to deactivate a user 1: Click on ACCOUNT SETTING located at top right of your account 2: You will find a link titled Users in the My Account section located on the right hand side; click on the Users link 3: In the Manage Users section you will see a summary of users in your account along with username, client name, email address and status. To change their user status click on the edit icon next to the Name. 4: Place a check mark in the Deactivate this user account and save the change *Hint: You can reset the user s password anytime by clicking the Reset Password link in the users section which generates an email to the user with a temporary password 12 Page

Manage Reports The Manage Reports section of your account organizes your searches and reports in the following categories: Inbox Need Attention Pending The inbox may also be divided into Yours and Everyone s based on the user role which will allow users visibility of their searches/reports and those of lower level users. You can also minimize the risk of duplicating orders by SEARCHING for a candidate s name in the inbox; here s how: 1: Go to Manage Reports from your account home page and click on SEARCH along the blue bar option list 2: Search for a report using the candidates First Name, Last Name, SSN or Report ID *Hint: If you discover a duplicate order you may request a cancellation by contacting the Client Relations department by telephone toll freee at 866.300.8524 or via email at service@backgroundchecks.com. Please note; successful cancellation will be based on time elapsed from order date. 13 Page

Understanding Your Invoice Account holders and Business Admin users have access to the accounting section. The accounting section contains a full current and historic account ledger. LEDGER The ledger displays an account summary and access to specific invoices. The ledger display is flexible; you can search by activity and date range. Both the Invoice Summary and Detail have the following features: Forward/Resend Invoice, Enter Payment, Print Invoice and Edit Billing Info Your billing address and billing contact will display on each invoice: Each invoice provides a summary and a PAY NOW link: 15 P age

SUMMARY Below is the invoice summary: * NOTE, you can view the detail by clicking on DETAIL DETAIL In the "Individual Searches" section you will always see separate line items for the following searches: Verifications (Education, Employment & Profess. License) =$8.00 Drug Screening =$36.00 US OneTRACE (Name and Address History) =$2.50 County Criminal Search (s) =$0.00 US OneVerify Validated for Primary Name =$7.50 16 P age

In the "Packages" section you will see one bundled price that includes: Unlimited County Searches per name (Primary and aliases) =$21.00 SSN Validation =$2.25 US OneVerify Validated per alias name =$7.50 (Primary name is excluded because it was billed in the Individual Searches section) In the "Additional Fees" section you will see any 3rd party and Court fees associated with Criminal Searches and Verifications (Education, Employment, etc...) These fees are billed immediately even though the report as a whole is still in process, once complete the individuals other searches will be invoiced on the next billing cycle. 17 P age
