Introduction The Franciscan Alliance Connection Manager is a tool to allow remote access to certain web enabled applications. Your position and it s associated security determine application access. Connection Manager Home Page Initial Setup When accessing Connection Manager for the first time, you will need to set some initial configuration settings for the device you are using. During this initial process, you may be prompted to allow or approve the communication from Connection Manger. Select Yes to any prompts during the initial setup.
Initial Setup Adding Trusted Sites Note: If you are using a Franciscan owned device, you can skip these instructions. When accessing Connection Manager, you will need make sure the Connection Manager websites are added as trusted sites. 1. Open Internet Explorer. 2. Click Tools and then click Internet Options. 3. Click the Security tab. 4. In the Select a zone to view or change security settings, select Trusted sites (green checkmark). 5. Click Sites button. 6. Uncheck the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone. 7. In the Add this website to the zone text box, enter *.franciscanalliance.org. 8. Click Add. 9. Then enter *.ssfhs.org. 10. Click Add. Initial Setup Network Connection You will sign in to Connection Manger with your Franciscan Alliance ID and password. Once you have signed on, you may receive a security prompt asking you to allow the program to make changes to your computer. Connection Manager Sign On Click Yes to this prompt. It will take a few moments after the prompt for the installation to complete. When it is finished installing, the browser window will refresh and you will be connected. You will see the Network Connect icon (gold lock) in your system tray. Network Connect
Sign On/Sign Out You will sign in to Connection Manger with your Franciscan Alliance ID and password. 1. In the address field of Internet Explorer, type connect.franciscanalliance.org and press Enter. 2. Type your user id and password, click Sign in. To Sign Out of Connection Manager, click the Sign Out button located in the upper right corner of the web page. Note: Applications may open in a new window. Be sure to Exit all open windows /applications when exiting Connection Manager. Connection Manager Sign On Connection Manager Sign Out Single Sign On (SSO) You can set up certain applications for Single Sign On (SSO). 1. Click Preferences. 2. Click the Advanced tab. 3. Click Configure Remote SSO. Result: You will be on the Remote SSO page. 4. Select the applications you want to configure by clicking the radio button in front of the name. Note: Only applications that allow SSO will have a radio button. 5. Click Configure. 6. Type your user id and password and click Save Changes. Note: PACS and Patient Keeper do not allow SSO.
Bookmarking The Connection Manager home page will display a list of bookmarks for your applications. Click on the bookmark link to open the application. To open the application in a new window, click the Open in a new window icon. Note: By opening an application in a new window, this allows you to easily access Connection Manager to open other applications. Verify you are logged on to Connection Manager the Network Connect icon should be in your system tray. 2. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys. 3. Click Change Password. 4. Enter the applicable information in each field and click Enter. Result: If successful, you will receive the prompt Your password has been changed. Note: If you receive an error message, you are not connected to Connection Manager and need to reconnect. 5. Click OK. To prevent authentication issues you will need to sign out of Connection Manager and all applications then sign back in to Connection Manager. Network Connect Icon Change Password Screen
