Prerequisite The Knowledge of SAP MM and program names are required to make use of this document in real practice. Overview For a material master record to be deleted by the archive and delete program, it must be flagged for deletion. All the information your company needs to manage a material is stored in a data record in the material master, sorted by various different criteria. When a material is no longer required in a company or plant, you can archive and delete the material master record. Purpose The aim of the document is to provide an understanding of the Simple method for Material Master archiving in SAP Materials Management. If you created a material by error and you want to delete that material from the data base you can do it in simple 4 steps. The only condition is that the material has to have no material movement recorded. All the documents are closed to the particular material at the time only we can able to delete that material otherwise it will not allow deleting for the material. Material Master Archiving Settings Flag Material for Deletion Flag Material for deletion in MM06 transaction. In this transaction give the material number alone. 2010 SAP AG 3
Select the Material Check box and system automatically activate all the check boxes. Press Save Icon 2010 SAP AG 4
Selection of Materials Flagged for Deletion Go to SE38 Transaction code and give the program name MMREO001 Execute the Program or Press F8 After Execution of the program give the material number and activate the select via status table check box deactivate Display without description and create output file check boxes. Remember the material has to have no material movement recorded like no open PR, PO, Production order, Reservation, Stock etc. 2010 SAP AG 6
Archive Materials Go to SE38 Transaction code and give the program name MMREO050 Execute the Program or Press F8 Give the material number and activate the Test mode check box and execute it. 2010 SAP AG 7
In test mode there is no error Remove the Test mode check box and execute it. 2010 SAP AG 8
Deletion Program for Archiving Materials Go to SE38 Transaction code and give the program name MMREO110 Execute the Program or Press F8 Select the test mode check box and execute it. 2010 SAP AG 9
Select first check box and continue 2010 SAP AG 10
We can able to find the material up to test run of the deletion program Remove the Test mode check box and execute 2010 SAP AG 11
Press ok Once the program is executed we will get a below message 2010 SAP AG 12
