Product Sheet CT2.61 Controller Type FCU-MULTI FCU-MULTI Modbus Fan Coil Unit Controller FCU-MULTI is completely stand-alone operating room controller designed for room heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting by occupancy or fan coil units. Controllers are available with 4-pipe FCU applications. Other applications are available on request. Controller configuration values are saved to eeprom during power off. Controllers can be networked to a network master using Modbus RTU. Module s address and communication speed is selected using onboard dip-switch. AUXILIARY INPUTS (MEASUREMENT ONLY, AVAILABLE OVER MODBUS) INPUT DESCRIPTION AI1 Auxiliary 0..10Vdc Measurement DI3 Volt-Free Contact 1 CONTROLLER OPERATING MODES The controller has three operating modes: day, relaxed and night (off). The diagram below illustrates these operating modes. In normal operation the controller operates in the Day mode, where the heating and cooling outputs are modulated according to the demand. The controller controls in the Day Mode to the Day SP. Comfort Tolerance (CT) is applied around the day set-point. SPA1 remote setpoint adjuster (potentiometer), if connected, will adjust the setpoint +/- 3 C. If SPA1 is not connected (no valid reading), the room influence is cancelled. In Relaxed Operation mode the controller modulates the control outputs to the SPrh and SPrc relaxed setpoints. In the Relaxed Operation SPA1 Remote Setpoint Adjuster has no influence. In the Night (Off) Mode the control outputs are normally set to 0%. Frost protection is active in the night mode. If the measured temperature TE1 drops below the frost setpoint (SPfr), the heating output is switched to 100% until the temperature has reached SPfr + 2 C. The controller can be switched to Relaxed and Night Modes via Modbus network, or via hardware volt-free contacts. Volt-free contacts have priority over the network override. Night override has higher priority than relaxed override. The table below illustrates the priority order. Priority Override Signal and Controller Mode 1 Highest DI1 Override to Off Mode 2 DI2 Override to Relaxed Mode 3 Network Variable 1 Override to Off Mode 4 Network Variable 2 Override to Relaxed Mode FAN SPEED CONTROL Fan speed is controlled automatically based on the demand. Fan speed can be manually overridden in the Day mode by varying the resistance on the RI1 input. RI1 override applies only to the Day mode. The fan speed automatic control follows the diagram below. Fan speed 1 is applied when either cooling or heating demand is more than 1%. As default fan speed 1 is switched off when the heating and cooling outputs return to 0%, and fan overrun timer of 5 minutes has been counted down. An option is provided to run Fan Speed 1 continuously in the Day Mode. Wiring Diagram (FCU-MLT-4) Notes: The output modes are configured using jumpers. Set to 0//10Vdc position for the 4-pipe FCU application. If the controller is last one in the communication network, enable the terminating resistor by setting the jumper next to the RS485 Modbus communication terminals. Factory Default Reset Writing 0xD555 to this register restores Factory defaults Fan Operation in Day Mode (0=1-speed, 1=3- speed) (reset = 0xD555) R/W 0 49 0/1 R/W 0 50 Write current values to eeprom (write=0xd555) R/W - 63 Registers 37-39 and 44-45 not in use. For WebBiter the template file is available at http://www.syxthsense.com/ecommerce2/webbiter_templates.php. COMMISSIONING CHECKS - Check that the controller is in day mode (Reg 23 = 1) - If not ensure that Reg 24 & 25 are 0 and Reg 26 & 27 are 0, - To test actuator outputs change the controller day setpoint (Reg 21). Now heating (Reg 29) and cooling (Reg 30) outputs will change accordingly. To get relay 2 to be ON in the Day mode and to switch OFF in the Night Mode - Change fan operation in Day Mode (Reg 42) to 1. - Change fan switch-off delay (Reg 43) to 0 seconds. - See fan speed status from Reg 28 - To override the fan (plant output relay 1) OFF, set Reg 24 to 1 and vice-versa.
