Upgrade Purchasing Procedures Getting started First, you must know with which version of Act! your client s serial number is compatible. 1. First you will need to look up your client s serial number. a. To look up a Dash serial number click the Information button from within the Dash screen and a new window will open containing the serial number. b. To look up a Designer serial number go to Tools and click on TopLine Designer Manager. A new window will open, click on the About button in the lower lefthand corner to retrieve the serial number. A new window will open containing the serial number.
c. To look up an Alerts serial number click on TopLine Alerts from your client s system tray, right click and select open Alerts. Click close on the following screen and then click on the About button on the next screen in the lower left hand corner to retrieve the serial number. A new window will open containing the serial number. d. If you can t retrieve your serial number via the above instructions email info@toplineresults.com. You will receive a response within 1 business day. 2. Next, go to https://licenseportal.toplineresults.com/. Enter the serial number in the white box and click the Search button. 3. Look on the left side of the screen for the box that says Max Supported Act! Version. This will indicate with which version of Act! the serial number is compatible. You can use the serial number with that version or any prior versions. For example, if it says 2013 then you can use it with Act! 2013 and prior versions.
If you need to use the TopLine addon product with a newer version of Act! than what is listed, you will need to upgrade. How to upgrade If you have determined that you need to upgrade your client s serial number to work with a newer version of Act!, then you must follow these instructions. 1. Go to https://licenseportal.toplineresults.com/ 2. Enter the serial number in the white box and click the Search button. 3. Click on the Upgrade License button in the center Actions section. If you do not see the Upgrade License button then your client s serial number is already compatible with the latest version of Act!.
4. A screen will appear indicating the total cost to upgrade. a. If this serial number currently has more licenses than your client needs, you can reduce the number of licenses. This will decrease the upgrade cost since you are upgrading fewer licenses. However, if do you choose to reduce the number of licenses that you upgrade, your client will need to purchase new licenses at full price if they again need those licenses at any time in the future. For example, if your client has a 10-user TopLine Dash license and only wants to upgrade 6 of those licenses, they will lose the remaining 4. b. To receive your ACC discount enter your ACC coupon code, x526458, and click apply. c. Click Upgrade Now to proceed to the payment page.
5. Enter your full billing information into the Payment Information section. Pay special attention to the total upgrade cost before clicking on the Submit Payment button. Your serial number is now compatible with the latest version of Act!. What s next? If you already have the TopLine Results addon product installed and registered then no further action is necessary. The software will automatically apply the upgrade to your serial number. If you do not already have the TopLine Results addon product installed and registered, then you simply have to install it and register it normally. If you have not yet installed and registered your TopLine addon, when you attempt to enter your serial number it will inform you that you must upgrade before you can continue. You will not be able to activate until you upgrade. If you already have a TopLine add-on installed and activated, when you attempt to open Act! v16 a message will appear informing you that you must upgrade your serial number. The
activation screen will then appear where you will have the option to upgrade. When you click on the upgrade button from the activation screen, you will automatically be taken to the license portal webpage. Your serial number will automatically be entered for you and the upgrade page will already be displayed. Using older versions of TopLine addons with Act! v16 is not supported by TopLine Results.
