Click on Other Libraries to visit MLSLibraries.net and library catalogues outside of your school. Quick Start Guide Click on Circulate to issue and return books to one student at a time. The home of Junior Librarian.net Classic features the book interface. The book interface hosts a number of interactive links that you can click on. Access a feature of the system by choosing an icon or button from the book interface. Click on Reviews to write a descriptive review of a book you have borrowed. Click on My Stuff to see the books you have borrowed, reserved and reviewed. Click on Enquiry to browse through the library catalogue. Click on Librarian only! to log into the Librarian s area of the software.

Issuing a resource Click on the Circulate button from the book interface. The circulate box will be displayed. Scan the book barcode using the barcode reader or use the keyboard to manually type it in. When the cursor moves to the Pin field, either scan your borrower barcode label, type in your borrower PIN with the keyboard or place your thumb on the fingerprint scanner.

Returning a resource Click on the Circulate button from the book interface. The circulate box will be displayed. Scan the book barcode using the barcode reader or use the keyboard to manually type it in. The system will automatically return the book for you.

Searching for resources There are two ways to search: Visually or with Text. Visual search Click on the Enquiry button. The visual search box will be displayed. Choose to search using pictured Categories: A-Z; filtered Page Views; the Cloud; the Wheel; with an Advanced search. Simply click on any of the visual search icons to begin searching in that area of the library.

Searching for resources There are two ways to search: Visually or with Text. Text search Click inside the blank white search field. Use the keyboard to type in any search criteria: - An Author s name - A part or full title of a book - Any keyword Click on the blue arrow icon or press the ENTER button on the keyboard to begin searching. Click on the red X icon to reset the search.

By clicking on a resource type you can stop that par cular resource type from being shown on the search page. Searching for resources After conducting a search the results are displayed Scroll to the next or previous shelf by clicking on the appropriate arrow icon.

Log onto the library system using the button from the book interface on the home page. Quick Start Guide Reserving a resource Remember, you will have to log onto the system before you can place a reservation! From the book interface on the home page, click on the Log On button. Enter your user name and pasword. (Ask the librarian for help if you don t know your log on details.) Conduct a search using visual or text searching. Click on a resource from the search results shelves to be taken to the details screen. Clicking on the Reserve button will place a reservation on the resource you have chosen. 5 Click on the Reserve button to place your reservation. The librarian will be notified that you are interested in borrowing the resource when it is returned to the library.

Log onto the library system using the button from the book interface on the home page. Quick Start Guide Reviewing a resource After logging in to your library borrower account you may write a review for a resource you have borrowed. Click Review from the book interface on the home page. Enter your borrower account PIN or place your thumb on the touch pad. If done correctly, your name will be displayed. Click on a resource from the list of ones that you have borrowed, then click on the Review this book button. Answer the questions about the resource. Feel free to try different fonts, styles, colours and smilies to help explain your review. 5 To save and send the review to the librarian, click on the Save button.
