Event Summary It was the event to attend! From 19-21 0ctober, close to 450 healthcare professionals and representatives from healthcare providers, healthcare service organizations, payers, vendors, government and educational institutions gathered for the AWC UAE Chapter Healthcare Information Summit and training workshops in Abu Dhabi, UAE. AWC and the AWC UAE Chapter thanks the speakers, delegates, sponsors, exhibitors and all supporting organizations who contributed to the great success of the summit. We especially thank those organizations who sent delegations to the summit, including Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, SEHA, DOH (formerly HAAD), DHA, MOH, DAMAN, TASNEEF, and HCT. Without you, the event would not have been such a tremendous success. We are also appreciative of the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority for their support of this worthwhile program. The Summit built on and expanded on the six-year legacy of successful HIM Congress events, launching an era in this region in which the importance of reliable and trustworthy data and information are seen as basic to safe, quality care for individuals, and essential to improving the health of populations. The Scientific and Organizing committees worked together to present an event that offered meaningful and timely professional development in an effective sharing and learning format. The summit and workshops were crafted to prepare healthcare information professionals for the changing demands in healthcare delivery, and data and information capture, use, processing, sharing, and reporting. The event was the largest of its kind in Abu Dhabi and the region, emphasizing the importance of healthcare information within the medical community. Prominent national and international speakers and leading experts in the healthcare field provided new methodologies and hands-on techniques in breakout sessions focusing on medical coding, CDI and informatics and data analytics. Plenary speakers offered comprehensive, up-to-date, research-based answers to the most frequent questions that arise with an opportunity to learn about global and regional challenges in health information and solutions for addressing them. The exhibition showcased the latest products and solutions by national and international companies and vendors of health information technologies and services.
