Easily control your lighting with any ios or Android device using the free ColorEasy4 app or use the remote control. B - ColourStrip Reel Pack Contains a 5m reel of ColourStrip LED strip and two connecting cables. ColourStrip can be cut to size and joined as required. Extra connecting cables of different sizes and butt connectors are also available separately. C - Powered Amplifier Pack For installations that require more than 5m of ColourStrip, add an Amplifier Pack for every extra Reel Pack. Containing a signal amplifier and a power supply, this pack provides the power boost required for additional 5m reels. Installation Use only with low voltage DC power source of the correct voltage (24V) Do not power LED strip while coiled on reel The LED strip has a self-adhesive backing which will adhere to most surfaces. The adhesive will only be effectively stuck ONCE! Therefore ensure you are certain about the final position before application Before removing the paper backing from the adhesive and applying the LED strip, ensure mounting surface is clean and dry Always observe polarity for low voltage connections ensuring (+) aligns with positive. Do not install this product in wet locations Use only insulated staples, plastic ties, or wire support clips to secure cords and wires www.maxilux.co.uk

05 Installation Installation ColourStrip has been designed to be fast and simple to adapt to your application, simply cut to size and join using our solderless cables and connectors. Cutting (Fig. A) ColourStrip is easily cut to the required length using a pair of scissors or snips. However it must only be cut in the centre of one of the lines of copper solder pads. Figure A - Cut at copper solder pads Joining and Extending Join lengths of ColourStrip using our pushfit connecting cables and butt connectors, ensuring polarity is consistent. When using the connectors, unclip the top flap and push the ColourStrip in squarely and firmly. (Fig. B) Figure B - Push ColourStrip into open connector Squeeze the connector closed until you feel it click into place, ensuring it s properly locked down. (Fig. C) Fixing Ensure the mounting surface is clean and dry. Simply peel back the cover on the adhesive backing and stick into place. Be sure of your positioning before you stick the ColourStrip down, removing and repositioning will result in an ineffective fix. Figure C - Snap connector closed support@maxilux.co.uk

06 Control Options Control Options If you have an installation where all sections of ColourStrip lighting are physically connected, then the standard powered bluetooth control pack (CSC-BTR) is perfect. However, if you require separate sections that cannot be joined, then you will need to use a Multi-Zone system. Bluetooth Control Pack (Fig. A) Ideal for simple single zone applications, our Bluetooth controller (CSC16) is controlled via a free app (ColorEasy4 Plus) available for both ios and Android devices. The controller is placed between the power supply and ColourStrip and is capable of accurate colour selection. See Page 8 for more information. 240V PSU Control Figure A - Bluetooth Controller Multi-zone installations (Fig. B) If all of the zones are within 15m of the master unit, then our Master/Slave controller system is ideal. It s easy to install and allows for up to three independently controlled zones as well as synchronized control of all zones at once from a single remote control. 240V 240V PSU PSU CSC11-M CSC11-S Wireless signal communication up to 15m Master Controller : CSC11-M Slave Controller : CSC11-S Figure B - Master & Slave Wireless Control Large scale installations When the required installation comprises many different sections spread across a large area or even multiple floors of a building, consider using our recommended Bluetooth mesh system. Casambi is a fully integrated lighting control which can link the control of your LED strip with other elements of lighting in your building. All controlled though an elegant and intuitive GUI (graphical User Interface) on your tablet or smartphone, the mesh technology means it can cover areas of thousands of square meters if required. 07 Troubleshooting Troubleshooting 1 The light on the controller flashes when I operate the remote, indicating it s receiving a signal, but nothing s happening. Check the ColourStrip is connected properly, ensuring the +ve mark on the strip is aligned with the +ve line on the controller. 2 Some parts of my installation are flickering at certain points when running the built-in programmes. This is most likely caused by a power supply which does not have enough capacity for the amount of ColourStrip being used. During most programmes the power requirements are less than 10w per m, but at the points during the programme that white or yellow are used (the maximum power combination) it rises to 15w per m. If this pushes the total wattage beyond the capacity of the power supply it will result in flickering. Low-cost power supplies are particularly prone to this behaviour. 3 Not all of the colours are responding to the remote control. This is probably down to a poor connection. Identify which colour is affected and check all of the connections on that colour line. The colour lines are indicated on the strip, Red, Green, Blue and White. 4 When I select certain colours or modes the Master controller LED flashes red and all of the ColourStrip turns off. You almost certainly have a short circuit in the wiring. The master controller will automatically recover. Switch on and then check each solid colour, including white, in turn until it happens again. This will identify the line with the problem, it s most likely to be the one next to the +24v line, probably the white. Check all connectors for a short circuit, when clear it should behave normally again. 5 The ColourStrip is not as bright at the end as the beginning. This will happen if you exceed the maximum single run lengths without using amplifiers and is the result of voltage drop over distance. The only solution is to reduce the length of the run or add an amplifer at the stated maximum run length. Use code CSC-AMP for the correct amplifer for ColourStrip LED strip. support@maxilux.co.uk

The bluetooth RGBW controller is suitable for up to 10m of ColourStrip and features snap-fit connectors for quick, solder-free installation. Connecting to the ColourStrip The bluetooth control uses the same simple connector as ColourStrip cables to join to the LED strip. See page 5 of this guide for instructions on how to use. The LED strip should be inserted into the connector so that the +ve line (identified by the +24V marking on the LED strip) is lined up with the BLACK lead from the controller. Open the clip top on the connector and push the strip into the slot until it stops. Close the connector and ensure it is snapped firmly closed.

09 Setting up the CSC-BTC Controller set up Setting up your controller 1 Download the control app, available free of charge from the App stores. Just search for ColorEasy4 Plus. It s available for both ios and Android devices. 2 You will need to pair your bluetooth device with the bluetooth controller before the app can work with it. At each power on, the controller will enter pairing mode for 90 seconds and the indicator light will flash blue and yellow. In this period, enter the bluetooth settings on your device and look for the name LED-XXX where XXX is the serial number of your controller. Select it to connect. Note: An unpaired smart device can only discover the bluetooth controller in this initial 90 second period. To enter the pairing mode again you will need to power off the bluetooth LED controller and start again. Bluetooth auto re-connecting The default setting of the CSC-BTC controller is to auto reconnect to the last paired bluetooth device when switched on. This can be disabled within the ColorEasy4 App settings page. Status Indicators Blue fast flash Blue/yellow fast flash Blue with yellow short flash Steady blue White flash 3 times Short single white flash Red flash Yellow flash Starting up Waiting to pair Bluetooth connected Bluetooth disconnected New remote controller paired New command received Overload protected Overheat protected

10 Using the remote control Using the remote control The optional hand held remote control can be used to turn the controller on/off or select the presets from the ColorEasy4 App. The remote control needs to be paired to the bluetooth control unit before first use. 1 Make sure the remote controller function is enabled on the App settings page using a smart device. 2 Power off the controller for at least 5 seconds before powering on again. 3 Within 5 seconds press the on/off and down keys at the same time. 4 The indicator light will flash white three times to show it has recognised the remote control. 5 You can pair a maximum of five remotes to a single bluetooth controller. 6 Switch between colours and modes on the App using the up/down keys on the remote control. Ensure Remote Controller Enabled is checked in ColorEasy4 settings

11 Using ColorEasy4 Plus Using ColorEasy4 Plus ColorEasy4 allows you to quickly select single colours by simply scrolling around the screen until you find the one you like. Set exact RGB values The RGB values are displayed above the colour palette, if you know the RGB values of the colour you would like just enter them directly into the value boxes. Light RGB colours will be accurately represented but dark colours are not possible to reproduce with RGBW LED strip lighting. Store your favourite colours Tap the preview icon in the top right-hand side of the screen and then tap a storage location to store the currently selected location. To recall a saved colour, tap the star icon in the top centre of the screen. Colour Adjustment Use the horizontal sliders below the main colour palette to adjust the position in the colour spectrum and amount of white used. Dynamic Modes The same principle applies to the dynamic settings tab. There are 42 presets to choose from, the speed for each can be adjusted from 1 to 99. The top right hand box acts as a preview pane. When you have one you like then tap the preview pane and save into a storage slot.
