File Manager The File Manager in the Multi Client version of ACA 1095 Reporting can be accessed from the home screen toolbar or off the File menu. Page 1

Opening Files The File Manager displays all ACA 1095 Reporting client files that are located in your default data folder and any files that might have been manually added to the list. From this list you can select a file by double-clicking on it (or by highlighting the file and then clicking the Open button on the toolbar). Alternatively, you can browse your computer for a particular file by choosing that option under the Open icon. Page 2

Adding Files Files can be added to the list by using the Add button. The Add button allows you to create a new file to be added to the list or an existing file can be added to the list by simply browsing to the location and selecting the file. Page 3

Removing and Deleting Files To remove a file from the list, click the Remove icon. Removing the file from the list does not delete the file, it simply removes it from the File Manager. To actually delete a file, choose the Delete Selected File option. The Remove Missing Files option will also scan your data folders and remove any missing files. If you move your data files to a new location, the program optionally can remove all files from the File Manager list. Data folders can then be re-scanned for data files by using the Refresh option. Page 4

Choosing Data Folders When the Folders button is clicked from the File Manager you can designate folders that you would like to include as data folders. As new ACA 1095 Reporting client files are created in these folders, the new files are added automatically to your File Manager. The Refresh option also scans the data locations and adds new files and removes missing or deleted files from the File Manager Listing. You can change the default data location by checking the Set as Default check box next to the paths (if you have more than one listed). You can optionally include subfolders to be scanned next to a location by checking that box. Page 5

Refreshing the File Manager List The Refresh button will update the File Manager and add any files that have been created that are not in the list and remove any missing files from the listing based on the default data location and any other locations that may have been previously added using the Folders option.. Page 6

Using the Autofit Option The Autofit button automatically adjusts the column widths to display the information contained in each of the columns. The screen below shows the File Manager Listing after the Autofit option is selected. Note how the first 5 columns are expanded to display the data. Page 7

Locating Data Files Select the Locate option to perform a search. You can specify a local or network drive to search or a specific folder. ACA 1095 Reporting will display how many files it finds and also whether you want to add those files to the File Manager Listing. You can also set any location where data files are found to be the default data location. Page 8

Using the Save As Option To make a duplicate (copy) of an existing data file, highlight the file in the File Manager Listing and then select the Save As icon. The following dialog will be displayed. You can change the name of the duplicated file and the location if desired. You will be asked to copy the prior year files as well and if you would like to open the newly created file. Page 9

Using the Rename Option Choosing the Rename option displays the dialog box below. You can type in the new name for the file in space provided and then click Rename Page 10

Showing the File in Windows Explorer or Finder The Show option will display the location of any file highlighted in Windows Explorer or the Finder application if using the Mac version of ACA 1095 Reporting. Page 11

Using the Email Feature Data files can be automatically attached to an email using the email option. Once your email server information is entered using the Edit Email Server button it will be saved in the program preferences. Then you can fill in the recipient, subject and message to accompany the attached data file. Page 12

Printing the File Listing If you wish to print the listing, click the Print icon. You can sort the list, group the files in the list and change the font size if necessary. Page 13
