Skype Gateway - User Manual 1. Introduction 1.1 Overview Skype Gateway is a Lync third-party software that allows you to make and receive calls to any device or gateway support SIP over UDP. For being software-based, Skype Gateway for Microsof Lync can be installed on your physical/virtual servers in-house or in your datacenters. This will cut down the costs of purchasing new hardware equipment or hardware-based media gateways. You will be utilizing your current hardware infrastructure to host and run your Lync server to connect with Skype. 1.2 Features Make and receive Skype calls from your Lync Environment. Supports Skype Connect with incoming and outgoing calls. Supports Lync Response group Integration. Supports UM Auto-Attendant Integration. Supports Caller ID with CDR reports. Supports DTMF. Make and receive calls with any device supports SIP over UDP. Figure 1.1 3
Skype Gateway - User Manual 2. Installation 2.1 Prerequisites and System Requirements Pre-Installed Software: Microsoft Lync Server 2013 or Microsoft Lync Server 2010 Mediation Server Role Installed. Skype Connect account. System Requirements: Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 or Microsoft Windows Server 2012 or Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 For Application installation. 2.2 Installation Steps The Skype Gateway software is available on website. Refer to the following link to download it. Download Skype Gateway Steps to install Skype Gateway software: 1. To begin the installation, double-click the following executable file: SkypeGateway.msi or Setup.exe (Figure 2.1). 4

In the following section we will discuss how to configure Skype Gateway. 3. Skype Gateway Configuration Pre-assumed variables that will be used during configuration: Skype Gateway's Machine IP Address: 196.2.150.150 Lync Mediation Server FQDN: Lyncpool1..Demo Lync Mediation Server IP Address: 192.168.10.10 Lync Response Group: 2020 SIP Profile Name: Office Skype Number: +14081234567 SIP Profile Value: "12345678912345" 7
Skype Gateway - User Manual Steps to Configure Skype Gateway Application: 1. Open the following path "C:\Program Files\\ Skype Gateway v1.02 for Microsoft Lync" 2. Right-click on file core.exe.config and choose edit. 3. Follow Figure 3.1 to edit the file. Figure 3.1 4. Microsoft Lync Server Configuration For Microsoft Lync Server 2013, we need to modify Lync topology. Skype Gateway - User Manual To add Skype Gateway as a PSTN Gateway in Lync Server Topology Builder, Please follow these steps: 1. Log in as a "Domain Administrator" on the server running Microsoft Lync Server 2013 then open the Lync Server Topology Builder. 2. Open your topology, and right-click on PSTN gateways, and then select New IP/PSTN Gateway (Figure 4.1). Note: If you are configuring a Branch Site, create a new Branch Site instead Figure 4.1 3. Type FQDN or IP Address of Skype Gateway's machine. e.g. IP address: 196.2.150.150 4. Set Listening port for IP/PSTN gateway to 15060 9
Skype Gateway - User Manual 5. Set SIP Transport Protocol as "TCP" 6. Associate the Gateway with a Mediation Server (Figure 4.2). e.g. LyncPool1..Demo 7. Set Associated Mediation Server port to 5060 Figure 4.2 8. Publish the new topology (Figure 4.3). Note: you may need to reboot the system or restart Lync services for the new topology to take effect. 10

Refer to the following article to configure Lync server voice routing, Configure Voice Routing For Skype 5. Skype Connect Configuration Receive Skype calls on your office phones and make low cost calls by integrating Skype with your existing phone system. By adding Skype Connect to your existing SIP-enabled PBX, your business can save on communication costs with little or no additional upgrades required. 11

Set your PBX details (Figure 5.5) o Set Skype Gateway's Machine IP address in Public IP Address field e.g. 196.2.150.150 o Set Port 5061 in UDP Port field. 15

Note: Skype Connect can be configured to forward calls to Lync Response Group or UM Auto- Attendant. You can do this by typing extension of Lync Response group or UM Auto- Attendant in "Extension" field. Figure 5.6 9. Skype Gateway - User Manual Summary of all above Configuration: 1. Skype Gateway application is installed and configured as mentioned before. 2. You have a valid Skype Account. 3. Your Skype credit is charged. 4. Skype Manager is set up for that account. 5. Skype Connect is configured correctly. 6. You have a Skype Number in case you will receive calls from external on a Skype Number. 7. You assigned an Extension to your SIP Profile if you need. 8. Ports 5060, 5061 and 15060 are allowed through firewalls. 9. A Skype Gateway's machine is configured with a public IP Address. 10. Trunk is created in Lync Server Topology Builder and this trunk associates Mediation Server with Skype Gateway's Machine. 11.
