Describe your target audience? Where does your target audience hang out? What are struggles that your target audience deals with? What can you create that helps them with their struggles? Solves their problems? (Remember it must be something they want, not necessarily need!)
Now that you have your idea of the email opt-in you d like to create, go through the following questions to make sure it s the perfect email opt-in! 1) Is your freebie specific? Write the topic here. 2) Does it take them from Point A (frustrated & struggling) to Point B (knowledgeable & excited)? Write Point A & Point B here. 3) Is your target audience aware they have the problem? Write problem(s) here: 4) What makes your freebie unique? Write it here.
5) What about your name stresses the value of your freebie? List it here. 6) List which blog category your freebie falls under. 7) Is it in line with one of your paid products or future paid products? Explain. 8) Does it provide a quick win? What will they learn? List it here.
9) Does your freebie have a dedicated landing page? (If you re looking for professional looking landing pages and you have a self-hosted Wordpress blog, check out Bluchic Landing Pages. Affordable, easy to use and really professional looking!) PROMOTION STRATEGY 1) What is your 3 month email marketing goal? Write it in the first blank. / 3 months = email subscribers per month. 2) Move your # of email subscribers per month to the next blank. Round the number up if needed. / 4 weeks = email subscribers per week. 3) Move your # of email subscribers per week to the next blank. Round the number up if needed. / 7 days = email subscribers per day. Example for 3 months: 500 / 3 months = 166.666 email subscribers per month. 167 / 4 weeks = 41.75 email subscribers per week. 42 / 7 days = 6 email subscribers per day.
1) What is your email marketing goal to reach by end of year? Write it in the first blank and then fill in how many months left until end of year. / months = email subscribers per month. 2) Move your # of email subscribers per month to the next blank. Round the number up if needed. / 4 weeks = email subscribers per week. 3) Move your # of email subscribers per week to the next blank. Round the number up if needed. / 7 days = email subscribers per day. Example for time until end of year: 1500 / _9_ months = 166.666 email subscribers per month. 167 / 4 weeks = 41.75 email subscribers per week. 42 / 7 days = 6 email subscribers per day. Now that your goal is broken down into more manageable steps, it s easier to figure out what promotions you can do to achieve your goal. Let s get everything planned.
Make a list of any holidays that can be used to promote your content. List the ways that you want to promote your content. For example, guest posts, your own blog posts, social media, email challenge, webinars, JV webinars. List anything that you want to try so you can figure out by scheduling items in your calendar how many of each you ll need to complete by your goal deadline.
List blog post topics that you can use to tie in your freebie and that you can schedule into your calendar. Remember to use everything that you ve found out from your target audience and their struggles.
Keep track of your email subscribers and check to see if you re reaching your goals each month. If you are that s terrific, but if you re not then you might need to change things up moving forward to reach your goal. Like I always say keep trying new things, step out of your comfort zone and you will reach your goals. Having a plan and being positive is the best way to get there!!
