Explain cut, cpy, and paste. The Cut, Cpy, and Paste cmmands are nearly universal. These three functins are used by almst every Windws prgram and perfrm mre r less the same functin in each f them. Yu can cut, cpy, and paste prgrams, disks, and text, t name just a few things. Cut: When yu cut smething, it is deleted frm its current lcatin and saved t the Clipbard. Infrmatin saved t the Clipbard stays there until new infrmatin is either cut r cpied. Each time yu execute Cut r Cpy, yu replace the ld infrmatin n the Clipbard with whatever yu just cut r cpied. Yu can paste the same Clipbard infrmatin as ften as yu like. Cpy: Cpy is similar t Cut except the riginal item is nt deleted. When yu cpy smething, a cpy f the item is saved t the Clipbard. Execute the Paste cmmand and infrmatin yu have cut r cpied is placed wherever yur cursr is lcated. Clipbard: The Clipbard is the strage area fr items that have been cut r cpied. Each time yu execute Cut r Cpy, yu replace the ld infrmatin n the Clipbard with whatever yu just cut r cpied. Yu can paste Clipbard infrmatin as ften as yu like, until yu replace it with smething else. There are three majr methds f cutting, cpying, and pasting. Opening the Search Cmpanin When yu have truble finding a file r flder n yur cmputer, search fr it using Micrsft 7 Search Cmpanin. T pen the Search Cmpanin: OR Open and Start menu and write n the Search bx. OR Open Dcuments and write n the Search bx. Open Cmputer and write n the Search bx. The Search bx has an area where we can write what we want t search.
Use the search bx n the Start menu Yu can use the search bx n the Start menu t find files, flders, prgrams, and e-mail messages stred n yur cmputer. T find an item using the Start menu: Click the Start buttn, and then type a wrd r part f a wrd in the search bx. appear as sn as yu start typing in the search bx. Search results As yu type, items that match yur text will appear n the Start menu. The search results are based n text in the file name, text in the file, tags, and ther file prperties.
. Use the search bx in a flder r library Yu're ften likely t be lking fr a file that yu knw is in a particular flder r library, such as Dcuments r Pictures. Brwsing fr the file might mean lking thrugh hundreds f files and subflders. T save time and effrt, use the search bx at the tp f the pen windw. library The search bx in a flder r The search bx filters the current view based n text that yu type. The search lks fr text in the file name and cntents; and in the file prperties, such as in tags. In a library, the search includes all flders included in the library as well as subflders within thse flders. T search fr a file r flder by using the search bx: Type a wrd r part f a wrd in the search bx. As yu type, the cntents f the flder r library are filtered t reflect each successive character yu type. When yu see the file that yu want, stp typing. Fr example, suppse yur Dcuments library lks like this:

Expand a search beynd a specific library r flder If yu can't find what yu're lking fr in a specific library r flder, yu can expand the search t include different lcatins. 1. Type a wrd in the search bx. 2. Scrll t the bttm f the list f search results. Under Search again in, d ne f the fllwing: Click Libraries t search acrss every library. Click Cmputer t search acrss yur entire cmputer. This is the way t search fr files that aren't indexed (such as system r prgram files). Hwever, be aware that the search will be slwer. Click Custm t search specific lcatins. Click Internet t search nline, using yur default web brwser and yur default search prvider. Exercise: Create fllwing tree f flders.
