Step 3: Early Childhood Professional Credential Formal recognition of education, training, experience and competency Provides a career pathway Part of QRIS Accessed through My Profile look for Early Childhood Credentials Credential 1.0 is good until it expires
Level 1 10-20 points Must have points from at least 2 areas Level 2 21-35 points Must have points from at least 2 areas Level 3 36-50 points Must have points from at least 2 areas Level 4 51-60 points Must have points from at least 3 areas Level 5 61-70 points Must have points from at least 3 areas Level 6 71+ points Must have points from at least 3 areas 20 max 50 max 30 max 10 max Experience Formal Education Ongoing Professional Development Demonstrated Competencies Points awarded for each year (1,820 hours worked in the field) Degrees Points awarded for highest degree achieved Areas of Study Four additional points awarded for each early childhood related degree Coursework One additional point awarded for each 3 credit ECE course completed in the last 15 years Aligned Coursework Two additional points awarded for each 3 credit Aligned ECE course completed in the last 15 years Points awarded for training hours/ceus completed in the last 3 years Points awarded for training related to children with high needs, completed as a series, or completed with at least 8 hours of coaching Points awarded for specific current licenses, endorsements & certifications BONUS points awarded when professionals are observed with an approved observation tool and receive a qualifying score

Creates a competency profile that then informs the Individual PD Plan Accessed through My Dashboard and My Professional Development Plan
Step 5: Individual Professional Development Plan Must complete Competencies Self- Assessment first Can add multiple goals, multiple action steps and create your own goals Provides individualized recommendations for future PD Earns points in the QRIS (Standard 1.14)
