To begin, it is assumed that you are logged in the PulsePro application with the appropriate security and permissions to complete this task. To access the Collections workbench, click the AR Management group button in the Navigation Pane. Copyright 2012 Pulse Systems, Inc. Page 2 of 28

The Account Management window is displayed which includes a toolbar, a status pane, an options pane and a list pane. Click the Menu button on the toolbar, and then select the Collections Workbench from the drop down menu. Copyright 2012 Pulse Systems, Inc. Page 4 of 28

The Collection Workbench window appears. This window consists of an options pane, three working panes and a series of action buttons which are located at the bottom of the window. Copyright 2012 Pulse Systems, Inc. Page 6 of 28
Use the series of fields located in the options pane to select specific accounts. Once selected, the Active Account list will be populated with the accounts matching the specified criteria. Criteria may include Collection Agency, Company, Sent Date and Time or Account Number. In addition, you may also view the most recent accounts by selecting the Show New Items Only checkbox. Once the criteria have been specified, and then refresh the list. For this example, we will accept the default values in the criteria fields and click the Refresh button at the bottom of the window. Copyright 2012 Pulse Systems, Inc. Page 8 of 28
The Active Account list pane is now populated with the records for accounts being managed by the Pay or Else Collection Agency. This list provides basic details such as Patient Name, Account Number, Company and Processed Collection Balance. By selecting a record in the detail list, you may now use the buttons provided to access the Ledger, or review Actions on the account. For more information regarding the Ledger or Actions, please review the corresponding lessons in the Ledger module or one of the Actions related lessons in this module. The Collection History for Charge window appears. This window may be used to view specific details on the collections activity which has occurred for this charge. The drop down list is populated with the available collection agencies that have been previously created in the system. For more information, please refer to the Configuring a Collection Agency lesson in the Account Management Administration module. Click to select an alternative agency from the list. In the Detail pane, click to select the checkboxes for the charges to be transferred. To select all charges, select the record for the patient at the top of the list. Copyright 2012 Pulse Systems, Inc. Page 20 of 28

In cases where the account status has changed, it may be necessary to retransmit the details of the account to the collection agency. Copyright 2012 Pulse Systems, Inc. Page 24 of 28
TIP When an account is retransmitted to a collection agency, all balance and date information is reset in the system to the new transmittal date and amount.
