1.0 How do I add an Optus mobile phone? 1. On the mobile manager page, click the Add button on the SimPoint toolbar. 2. Enter the unit name, mobile number and carrier and click Add. Upon doing this, an SMS will be sent to the mobile number entered asking the user if they wish to be located. Once they give permission via SMS it will take 2 working days for the unit to be enabled for location services.
2.0 How do I upload multiple mobile units (Bulk Upload)? 1. On the mobile manager page, click the Add button on the SimPoint toolbar. 2. Then Click on the Bulk Upload button. 3. Enter the details of the mobile units that you wish to add in the following format: Name 1, Mobile number 1, Carrier 1 John Smith, 0412345678, Optus Upon doing this, an SMS will be sent to the mobile number entered asking the user if they wish to be located. 3.0 How do I locate a mobile unit(s)? 1. On the mobile manager page, tick the box or boxes adjacent to the mobile unit(s) you wish to locate and click the red Locate button. Alternatively you can select a group from the dropdown menu.
4.0 How Do I Send an SMS On the mobile manager page, enter your SMS message. Select Entered Number, Selected Mobiles or Selected Group from the To dropdown menu.

9.0 How Do I Create A Geofence? 1. Click on the Geofence Icon that corresponds with the POI you wish to create a Geofence for. 2. Select the mobile units you want the Geofence to apply to (1), the size of the geofence (2), whether you would like alerts when a units enters or leaves the geofence (3) and the type of alerts (4).
10.0 How do I add a new route? On the Route page, click on the Add button. 1. Enter the name of the route. 2. Select whether you wish to begin your journey from an existing POI or Mobile unit from the drop down menu. 3. Select the destination of your journey by selecting either an existing POI or Mobile unit from the drop down menu. 4. Click Add.
11.0 How do I display a route? On the routes page, tick the box adjacent to the route you wish to display and click the red Locate button. It will take around ten seconds depending on your Internet connection to display the results.
12.0 How do I check to see if somebody has replied to a message? On the mobile manager page, click on the Check for Replies button.
13.0 What is the privacy manager? Privacy Manager allows the user of the mobile telephone to manage and update privacy settings, which dictate when a relevant mobile telephone can be located via SimPoint. You will be able to only view (and not update) the privacy settings of all mobile telephones. Only mobile telephone users will be allowed to update their own privacy settings. The user of the mobile telephone can define the hours during which a mobile telephone will be able to be located via SimPoint Privacy Manager, by selecting one of three different templates: Never; Working Hours (9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, unless varied by the user of the mobile telephone); Custom. The Privacy Manager also allows mobile telephone users to control their privacy setting remotely via SMS. Mobile telephone users can send a SMS to 0421268960 with the following commands: Stop: Allows a mobile telephone user to prevent their phone from being located via SimPoint. Start: Allows a mobile telephone user to enable their phone to be located via SimPoint. Status: Allows a mobile telephone user to identify whether their phone can or cannot be located via SimPoint.
13.1 How do I access the privacy manager? On the main SimPoint interface, click on the Admin button. From the menu of mobile units, select the name of the person who s privacy status you wish to change. You can only view (and not update) the privacy settings of all mobile telephones. Only mobile telephone users will be allowed to update their own privacy settings.
14.0 How do I run a report on location requests and export to CSV file? On the main SimPoint interface, select Admin On the Admin page, select reporting from the navigation menu. From the dropdown menu, select LBS Location report. You may also filter your search according to your requirements by selecting the relevant filters from the two remaining dropdown menus. The results of the search will then be displayed below. If you wish to export these to a CSV file, simply select Download CSV Report.

18.0 General FAQ s What should I do if I can t login with my username and password? To login to SimPoint you must have cookies enabled on your computer. For more information, please speak to your IT administrator. What constitutes a Lookup? A lookup is when SimPoint asks Optus where the mobile phone handset is. EG: If want to locate four handsets in one go, this will count as four lookups and you will be billed accordingly. What happens if I click locate when the mobile phone I wish to track is off or out of range? SimPoint will display the last known position of the mobile unit (This will count as a standard lookup and billed according to your rate plan) Does it cost anything to enter a Point of Interest? No. Does it cost anything to setup a Route? If the route is from or to a mobile unit it will be counted as a standard lookup. Otherwise it is free. Does it cost anything to receive a message? No
