1 E-Registers Classroom Use The following instructions are to assist teachers in completing their registers in the classroom. Class attendance is recorded in Today s Registers. You can navigate to the correct screen with the following steps: Login 4 Classroom Attendance Today s Registers Step 1 Login Enter your username and password in the appropriate boxes and click LOGIN. Please note: Your account will be locked after 3 unsuccessful attempts, and you will need to contact your admin team to unlock your account. Step 2 4 Classroom Click on the red 4 Classroom tab. The screen should now have a red theme across the top (see the following image). Page 1 of 6

2 Step 3 Locating the Attendance section This page displays the children in your class. If your admin team has uploaded their school photo, each child will be represented by a small image of the photo. The default (as above) is a generic male/female silhouette. Click the 3-striped button in the top left corner to access other functions within 4 Classroom. A slide out bar will appear from the left-hand edge of the screen containing the sections of 4 Classroom that you have been given permission to use. Page 2 of 6

3 Click on Attendance which will show you the available options in this area. Step 4 Accessing Registers Click on Today s Registers Page 3 of 6

4 Remember: The system will need to be setup every morning by the office staff by clicking Clear Dinner Registers. If this has not been done the following message will display in top left corner: If you have followed the previous steps correctly you will see the next screen: Click Mark Everyone in AM this will put a tick in the Present? AM column for everybody and select their default meal type. Page 4 of 6

5 Note: If your screen already has the Meal Type selected then either your registers have already been started for today or your school has opted not to Reset to Default each morning. Untick the AM box in the Present? column for anyone absent and the system will change their Meal Type to absent, and also change the AM code to N (see below): When you are satisfied that everybody present and absent has been recorded correctly click Register Complete. This saves your class register to the school database. If you leave the page without clicking this button your data will not be saved. Once your register has been successfully saved, your page will display the message below in the top left corner of your screen: Page 5 of 6

6 For your reference The following is a breakdown of the various options you have on the registers screen: Button Register Complete Change All Meal Types Mark Everyone in AM Mark Everyone in PM Match PM to AM Show Absence Comments Show Attendance Marks Show Lateness Comments Show Register codes Show Multiple Update Options Update Greeting Description This option must be clicked once all updates have been completed to save your information. From the drop down box you will be able to select a meal type. Click Set All Meal Types and the selected Meal Type will be applied to every child. (If you need to change any you can do that manually by clicking on the meal type dropdown box by their name) This will put all the ticks in the AM box for you This will put all the ticks in the PM box for you This is for the afternoon register and it will take the information from AM and add it to the PM column (If anybody needs to be marked differently since the AM register was taken you can manually tick or untick the PM box where applicable). This will allow you to put in notes for absent pupils. This will take you back to the standard attendance screen after you have either clicked on Show Absent Comments or Show Lateness Comments. This will allow you to enter the reason why a pupil has been late. This will bring to the screen the register codes and their descriptions. It comes in handy if you need to check a particular code before applying it to a pupil. This will allow you the change the register codes for the whole class e.g. if they were on a school trip and you wanted to change their register code to V. You can do either AM, PM, or both. Once you have selected the information click Mark Whole Class. If a pupil needs a different attendance code you can manually change them via the dropdown boxes against their name. This will allow you to enter information to be shown on the register screen for the pupils Page 6 of 6
