1. Introduction 1.1 Service description The Inclarity MSC (Mobile Sip Client) delivers hosted voice services on smartphones/tablets/apple (android, RIM and Windows mobile are not currently supported). The MSC compliments any existing Inclarity deployment or can be used as a standalone primary device. The MSC allows the ability for the Inclarity hosted voice platform to treat a mobile phone to behave like a PBX extension phone using SIP as the primary transport protocol via Wi-FI networks (3G Not supported) The service is set up by an administrator in SMT and the SIP credentials are also accessable to the end user via the phone manager portal. a. Adjustment for one way voice-codec settings If there is an issue with one way voice on calls, please check the voice Codec settings in settings>advanced Settings>Wi-Fi Audio Codes > & set to on for G711A & G722 HD this setting is not normally required. If this does not solve the issue check the network is not blocking ports on the firewall or test on an alternative known clear Wi-Fi network. Also check the Mobile Audio Codes setting this should be set to G711a 14
b. Network Traversal settings Ensure Network Traversal settings are set as below. This can be found in settings>advanced Settings> Network Traversal The User Specified should be selected. 5. Device Requirements- Iphone To check your operating system, on the device home screen, tap Settings > General > about and look for the Version. Your device must run on ios 4.3 or higher. For best performance, we recommend the newer generation of devices: iphone 3GS and newer, *Bria iphone Edition will run on older devices but you will not be able to multi-task: you will not be able to run Bria in the background switch to another application while on a Bria phone call or use the G.722 codec These devices are Wi-Fi devices; they do not support 3G. Installing Bria iphone Edition allows you to make calls when you are in a Wi-Fi zone. 15
6. Caveats An MSC is an application that resides on the phone or tablet device. The application utilises the devices inbuilt Wi-Fi antenna to communicate with the Inclarity Broadsoft platform. As Wi-Fi antennas on such device have no advanced settings/management options which allow the use of 802.1q (Vlan) tagging, the MSC is effectively a data application running as network traffic i.e. it abides by the same rules and regulations as the Inclarity Bria softphone application. For all instances, the end user MUST accept that the quality of the voice during use is dependent on the quality and available bandwidth of the Wi-Fi environment available. Inclarity will not accept support tickets with regards to call quality. Throughout the sales cycle and during the provisioning of the service, the end customer and all end users of the Bria MSC must be aware and agree to be responsible for ALL calls to and from the application this is described & agreed the disclaimer upon activating the service.
