Clear AOL Artwork Database

Note: If you are using AOL Desktop, please skip to the next solution. The AOL software stores online graphics on your computer to speed up the loading of AOL images. Over time, unwanted graphics from pages that you no longer visit or pages that have changed can fill up your artwork database and reduce the efficiency of the AOL software. In case the files get damaged, they may cause errors that are more serious. You can store and speed load new graphics by first reducing and then resetting the size of the artwork database. For more information on clearing the artwork database, please read to our online help article Clear AOL Artwork Database. Uninstall Viewpoint Media Player To uninstall Viewpoint Media Player on Windows XP/2000/Me/98 1. Open Control Panel. If you are using Windows XP, click Start, and then click Control Panel. 2. Double-click the Add or Remove Programs or Add/Remove Programs icon. 3. Click Viewpoint Media Player to highlight it, and then click Change/Remove or Add/Remove. 4. Click Yes to confirm the uninstallation.

Note: Close all open windows. Start the AOL software. Viewpoint Media Player will automatically reinstall. Run Quick Restore Note: This feature is available only for the AOL 9.0 series. If you are using AOL Desktop or AOL 8.0 Plus and lower, please skip to the next solution. The Quick Restore feature resets the AOL software to the default state by deleting all updates downloaded in the past. To know how to run Quick Restore, please read our online help article Run Quick Restore. Uninstall and reinstall the AOL software If you continue to face issues with the toolbar, we recommend that you uninstall and then reinstall the AOL software. Uninstalling the AOL software removes all damaged files, and reinstalling the software installs new, error-free files.
