Introduction REMOVU K1 is a 4K Camera with an integrated 3-axis gimbal. It is lightweight, portable, user-friendly and affordable. To ensure that everything is in the shot, the K1 has a custom designed F2.8 wide angle lens. It shoots sharp 12MP photos and stable video up to 4K. With the built-in 1.5 LCD screen, you can preview and playback recorded videos and photos instantly. The K1 uses a powerful interchangeable smart battery, that provides up-to 4 hours of continuous filming on a single charge. Getting Started Charging the Battery Be sure to fully charge the Smart Battery before using for the first time. Connect the K1 battery to a power outlet by using a 5V/2A adaptor and the provided USB cable. It will take approximately 150 minutes for the battery to be fully charged. Refer to the Status LED Indicator Descriptions section below for more information about the Status LED Indicator blinking patterns. Charging Time: 150 minutes (using 5V/2A adaptor) Status Battery LED Indicator Description Red blinking on the first column of LED < 10% Green blinking on the first column of LED 10% ~ 20% Green blinking on the second column of LED 20% ~ 40% Green blinking on the third column of LED 40% ~ 70% Green blinking on the fourth column of LED 70% ~ 99% LED Off Fully charged - Turn LED status off while charging: hold the battery level check button for 3 seconds. - Turn LED status on while charging: press the battery level check button once. Getting Started Check the Battery Level You can check the current battery level at any time by using the level check button on the bottom of the battery. Solid Red LED on first column < 10% Solid Green LED on first column 10% ~ 20% Solid Green LED on second column 20% ~ 40% Solid Green LED on third column 40% ~ 70% Battery Level Check Button Solid Green LED on fourth column 70% ~ 99% Insert / Remove Battery into K1 Removing the Battery Press and hold the lock buttons on both sides of the battery and pull down to remove the battery. Inserting the Battery Slide the battery into the bottom of the K1 until it clicks into place. Battery Specifications Type Capacity Energy Lithium-ion 2,850mAh 10.4Wh - Read the user manual and Smart Battery Safety Guidelines before use. The user takes full responsibility for all operations and usage. - REMOVU recommends using a 5V/2A adaptor for charging. Voltage 3.65V 5

Getting Started Unlocking the Gimbal To unlock the gimbal, gently rotate roll motor until it can rotate freely. Slide the pan axis lock downwards to unlock the pan axis. Rotate the motor just enough to allow free motion. The motor may be damaged if rotating is excessive. Inserting the Micro SD Card (Sold Separately) 1. Locate and open the micro SD card cover on the right side of the K1. 2. As illustrated in the image, insert a micro SD card with the label facing the backside of the K1, then close the cover. Inserting the memory card in the wrong direction may damage the camera. Note: Use brand name memory cards that meet these requirements. Micro SDHC or Micro SDXC UHS-I U3 rating For a list of the recommended micro SD cards, refer to page 21. Removing the Micro SD Card To remove the card, push the card lightly. The card with then unlock and pop outwards. 6

Getting Started Power On and Off Slide-down and hold the power switch to turn the device ON/OFF. Release the power switch once the device has turned ON/OFF. Install the REMOVU K1 App Search for REMOVU in the App Store or Google Play to download the app onto your mobile phone. Connecting to the K1 App 1. Power on the K1. 2. Press the Menu button on K1. 3. Select Camera Settings on the menu. 4. Turn Wi-Fi on. 5. Turn on your mobile s Wi-Fi and connect to the K1 Camera. (Default password: 12345678) 6. Launch the K1 mobile app and tap Connect. 7

Gimbal Mode Tilt axis Tilt axis Pan axis Pan axis Pan Mode Tilt and Roll are fixed and camera is permitted to Pan left or right. Follow Mode Camera is permitted to Pan left or right and Tilt up and down, while Roll is fixed. Note: Functions such as re-center and selfie/front modes are available in Pan and Follow Mode. Quick Setting for Gimbal Position - The gimbal can be manually adjusted by hand. - Move the gimbal to your desired position and then hold it for 0.5~1.0 seconds to fix the position. The gimbal may enter safety mode if it is held in a fixed position for longer than 1 second. 12

How to use Low Angle 1. With the camera held upright, change the camera to Selfie mode by quickly tapping the trigger three times. 2. Hold the camera down and quickly tap the trigger button two times to center the camera or use the joystick to set the camera in the desired position. Trigger Joystick 3. Hold down the trigger and push right on the joystick to rotate the LCD screen. + 13

Menu - To enter the Menu, press the Menu Button. - To navigate the menu, move the joystick or press the shutter button. - To enter the highlighted menu item, press the recording button. - To return to the previous menu or main screen, press the Menu Button. Display Description Video Setting Photo Setting Advanced Setting or Tuning Playback Camera Setting Gimbal Setting Video Settings Settings for Video, Slow Motion and Time-lapse can be set. Mode: Video, Slow Motion, Time-lapse. Resolution: Resolution and frame rate for the video. Automatic Low-Light: The camera automatically adjusts the FPS when used in dark or low light environments. The options for this setting are On (Default) and Off. Auto Low-Light is available for frame rates higher than 30FPS. Motion Setting: Set a path by selecting two points to create a motion time-lapse or slow motion video. 14

Motion Setting for Video / Photo 1. Select Motion Setting in Video/Photo Setting. 2. Move the joystick left / right to navigate. Move the joystick up / down to adjust the recording duration. When finished selecting the settings, press the record button to start. Duration (Recording Time): Indicates recording time for the motion lapse. Interval: Indicate recording interval set in Time-lapse video / photo. Video Length: Indicate play time according to the duration setting (except Time-lapse photo) 3. Use the joystick to move the camera and press the trigger button to set point A. Set point B in the same way as setting point A. 4. After selecting point A and B, press the recording button. The camera will move to point A and start recording. The camera will then transition to point B based on the specified duration. 5. The recording ends when the camera position reaches point B. Note: Time Lapse Photo will be added by firmware update in the near future. 16

Photo Setting Setting for Single, Burst and Time-lapse Photo can be set. Mode: Single, Burst, Time-lapse Photo. Frames: Change frames for Burst or Time-lapse Photo. Night Mode (Night Photo): Control shutter speed manually. Self-Timer: Set the self-timer. Motion Setting: Set a path by selecting two points to create a motion time-lapse photo. Advanced Setting White Balance, ISO Sensor Sensitivity, Exposure Value and Sharpness can be manually controlled in the advanced setting. White Balance: Adjust the color temperature of the video and photos to optimize for cool or warm lighting conditions. ISO Sensor Sensitivity: set a range for the camera s sensitivity to light and image noise. In low light, higher ISO values result in brighter images, but with greater image noise. Lower values result in darker images with lower image noise. Exposure Value: Change the brightness in the videos or photos. Sharpness: Control the quality of details captured in video footage or photos. Playback Video & Photo 1. Press 'Menu' button to enter the menu list and select 'Playback' by press the Recording Button. 2. In the playlist, use the joystick to select videos and photos. Playback Icons Play Stop Next Previous Fast Forward Rewind Speaker Volume Delete Item Return to the thumbnails screen Gimbal Setting The following gimbal settings can be changed: Speed Determines the speed of the gimbal. Options are Slow, Normal or Fast. Inverted Joystick Changes the direction of the joystick inversely. Auto Calibration Calibrate the K1 when the horizontal axis is unbalanced. Perform calibration when K1 is upright on a flat surface. When used in abrupt changes of temperature, calibration needs to be performed to balance the gimbal. 18

Camera Setting The following Camera settings can be changed: Wi-Fi On / Off: Turn on or off Wi-Fi for connecting to the smartphone app. ID & Password: used by a smartphone to connect to the K1. Display Change LCD Display setting. Screensaver: When there s no movement detected, the LCD Display automatically turns off. Options are Never, 30 seconds to 3 minutes. On Screen Display: After the set time, LCD icons are hidden. Options are Always on, 5 seconds or OFF. Guide: Turns on and off grid line. Orientation Determines the orientation of video or photos. Tip: On Preview, quickly change orientation by pressing and holding the joystick while moving the trigger to the right. Orientation is not supported at 120/240FPS. Default Mode Set the default video and photo mode. Beep Set beep volume level. Options are 100%, 50% or Off. Video Format When record or play videos on a TV, set speed of the frame Options are NTSC or PAL. Quick REC Turn on and off the settings that automatically start recording after the power is on. Date / Time Set the date and time on the camera. Tip: By connecting K1 to the App, K1 s date and time will be synced with the smartphone. SD Format Formats the memory card. All the content on the memory card will be deleted. Reset Camera Reset all settings except Wi-Fi and date/time. Information Displays information about the K1. 19

Important Messages Safety Mode Safety Mode will be activated base on the follow circumstances: 1. When turning on the gimbal before unlocking 2. When locking the gimbal while in use 3. When overload occurs on the gimbal How to Release Safety Mode : The gimbal will be restored by selecting the Restore menu item. Note: When safety mode is activated, REMOVU recommends restarting the K1. Temperature Alert The Temperature Alert Message appears on the camera status screen when the camera becomes too hot and needs to cool down. Simply let it sit and cool before attempting to use it again. The K1 was designed to identify overheating and shuts down when needed. External Microphone The External Microphone Connection icon appears on the camera screen when an external microphone is inserted. The External Microphone Missing icon appears on the camera screen when an external microphone is detached. 20

Firmware Update In order for your camera to carry out the upmost performances, it s software needs to be updated to the latest version. To verify the version of software, select Menu > Camera Settings > Information. 1. Download the latest version of firmware from the REMOVU website. 2. Copy the.bin files to the memory card s root directory. While K1 is turned off, insert the memory card into the slot. 3. Then turn on the camera. The firmware update process will start. If the update fails, turn off the K1 and restart the process. If the update continues to fail, contact the REMOVU Support Center. 4. To verify if the firmware update completed successfully, go to Menu > Camera Settings > Information. 22
