ADC780 Series Indoor/Outdoor Vandal-Resistant Cameras Installation and Setup Guide Features Adjustable camera mount Indoor/Outdoor installation (except flush mount) ¾- and ½-inch conduit holes 24Vac hookup 2.6 6mm variable focal color camera with dc auto-iris adjustment Corner Mount Surface Mount The ADC780 series camera is for use in areas subject to vandalism such as subway stations, parking garages, prisons, police stations, corridors, supermarkets, and elevators. This camera, which comes in NTSC and PAL versions: Is contained in a cast aluminum housing with a polycarbonate window or dome. Three versions are offered: corner, flush, or surface mount. Has 480 lines of resolution to produce a sharp picture with true color and has a 2.6 6mm variable focal auto iris lens. Is protected by tamper-resistant hardware. Meets weather resistance standards: Surface Mount: NEMA 4, IP43 Corner Mount: NEMA 3R, IP43 Flush Mount: NEMA 1, IP40. Outdoor Applications Flush Mount Except when used in the flush mount, the camera can be mounted outdoors using an optional heater and thermostat that maintains the operating temperature between 40 C to +50 C. Corner Mount Installation 1. Loosen (DO NOT REMOVE) four captive Torx screws to remove the cover from enclosure. 3. Using the four mounting screws, attach the enclosure to the corner. Use Teflon tape to wrap the ends of the conduit before connecting it to the enclosure. M4 Plastic Anchors (4x) Rubber Washers (4x) 2. Prepare the four mounting screws. In extreme environments: Wrap the screw head in Teflon tape with the tape going ¼ inch down the body of the screw (A) and insert the washer and O- ring (B). 4. If using the camera outdoors, see Heater Installation, page 7. 5. Run 24vac and video cables to the enclosure. Connect cables where shown and apply power to the camera. Holding the yoke (not the camera lens barrel), swivel the camera to the desired view. Caution: DO NOT point the camera directly at the sun s path. 10. Adjust zoom and focus arms on the lens barrel to the desired setting and tighten them in place. 11. Tighten the two yoke screws. 12. If the humidity is high at the time of installation, place the bag of desiccant inside the enclosure. 13. Reattach the cover on the enclosure using the four Torx screws. 14. Place a bead of Silicone caulk everywhere where the corner mount meets the wall. 6. Flush Mount Installation (In a wall or ceiling) 1. Loosen (DO NOT REMOVE) four captive Torx screws to remove the cover from enclosure. 3. Run 24vac and video cables through the opening in the ceiling. Then attach the enclosure to the gasket using screws shown. Apply power to the camera. Rubber Washers (2x) 2. Using the mounting plate as a template, cut a round opening in the wall or ceiling. Then, using the four anchors and screws supplied, center the gasket over the opening and attach it to the ceiling. M4 x 8 Pan Head Screws (2x) 4. Holding the yoke (not the camera lens barrel), swivel the camera to adjust (using a small screwdriver) the auto-iris level control on the edge of the top board. Attach the mounting plate to the electrical box using four 8-32 screws shown. 2. Attach the enclosure to the mounting plate using four M4 x 8 screws. Note: Due to mounting hole locations on the cover plate, the enclosure will be oriented 45 to the electrical box. Heater Installation Corner Mount Remove the ac terminal block and wiring to the AC camera connection and replace it with the thermostat PC board and heater element.
