Preparing Computer for Comloc Installation Before starting, review the ATM configuration summary. If the dispenser firmware version is 9.10.17, the unit has already been updated, do not continue. If the summary states any other firmware, continue with the SCDU loader. IMPORTANT: Before installing the comloc driver, ensure the comloc hardware is NOT connected to the computer. Windows 7 & 8 users ONLY: Ensure the.net framework is enabled on your computer before continuing. (Start Control Panel Uninstall a Program or Programs and Features click Turn Windows features on or off check Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 if it s not already checked.) Page 1 of 16
Step 1 Open the CDU Installer folder. Double click on the CduLoadInstall.exe file. Step 2 Click Install to start the installation. NOTE: If your computer already has the.net Framework v2.0 installed, the installer will automatically proceed to Step 9. Page 2 of 16
Step 3 Click Yes to install the.net Framework v2.0. Step 4 The Framework will load. Page 3 of 16
Step 5 Click on Next to begin the Framework Setup wizard installation process. Step 6 If you accept Microsoft s License Agreement, when the Setup box appears, check the I accept box and Click on Install. Page 4 of 16
Step 7 The remaining components will install. This may take a couple of minutes. Page 5 of 16
Step 8 When the Setup Complete box appears, click Finish. Step 9 When the Installation Complete box appears, click Next. Page 6 of 16
Step 10 Click Finish to close the wizard. The CDULoad has been successfully installed. Step 11 Insert the Comloc hardware into the PC. Page 7 of 16
Step 12 The Found New Hardware Wizard will appear. Ensure the Recommended install is checked and click the Next button. Step 13 The software installs automatically on your computer. This may take a moment to complete. Page 8 of 16
Step 14 When complete, click on Finish. The program will automatically close. Page 9 of 16
Upgrading CDU Firmware to handle Canadian Polymer Notes using PC Loader Utility A Straight through serial cable is required to download the firmware from the PC to the CDU dispenser. If your PC does not have a serial port, you will also require a USB to Serial adaptor. Both parts are readily available at a local electronics store. Step 1 Unplug the unit s data cable from the dispenser. Plug the data cable from the laptop/desktop computer into the dispenser. Step 2 Switch all four dip switches on the dispenser to the OFF position. If the dispenser power is ON when the dip switches are flipped, press the black reset button above the dip switches to set the dispenser into download mode. Page 10 of 16
Step 3 Insert the Comloc hardware into the PC. Step 4 Run the Utility Loader by going to Start All Programs Triton CduLoad. Page 11 of 16
Step 5 In the drop down box, choose the COM port where the dispenser data cable is plugged in. If you are using a USB to Serial adaptor, you can determine the COM port to use by going to Control Panel Device Manager in Windows. Locate the USB to Serial device name under Ports. The COM port associated with this device is shown. Page 12 of 16
Step 6 Click Start. The program will load onto the SCDU Dispenser. The green progress bar will advance as the load proceeds. Page 13 of 16
Step 7 When the program has loaded completely, the Status bar at the bottom will state Success. Verify the Checksum in the status bar is C985. You can now disconnect your dispenser safely. Unplug the download data cable from the dispenser and plug the unit data cable back in. Step 8 Switch dip switches 1, 2 & 4 to the ON position. Press the reset button above the switches to put the dispenser into dispense mode. Step 9 If the dispenser is installed in an ATM at the time of upgrade, restart the unit. Page 14 of 16
Step 10 Once the load is complete, review the ATM configuration summary. Verify the dispenser firmware version is 9.10.17. Page 15 of 16
Updating Your SCDU Firmware License Step 1 The SCDU Firmware loader has a set number of downloads. To verify the number of downloads left on your system, insert the Comloc into the computer, open the application and click on About. Step 2 A window will appear that shows the application version information. The number of remaining downloads on the system is shown here.
